Happy Birthday Laura!

Congrats to Kyle! What a great picture and article!

Well, we had some nasty weather roll through here last night. A tornado hit about 10-15min from my house, in a neighborhood that my sis lived in about a year ago. I was up until after midnight watching the radar--not good cuz DH is out of town. Luckily, we just got a lot of rain, lightening and thunder. Now we're just flooding everywhere.

WFD tonight--we were supposed to go out for Mom's 60th bday but she's sick. But since DD was really hoping to go out, we'll head out to our fave pizza joint and eat there!

Stephanie, So glad you are alright!

Well I'm going to gloat for Kathy. Y'all should see the huge article & picture of Kyle in our local paper!!!!

Huge headline with his name in it. Saying his "pitching gem was the catalyst in upending the Terriers and spoiling an undefeated season" !!!!

WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!! GO KYLE!!!
 :cheer2:

:yay: :yay: :yay: Kyle!!!

I hate tornado season; there was one close to us this week, too, and lots of hail. Not being home in the bad weather is my biggest fear because the dogs are home alone. I'm terrified of losing them if we get major damage.

I'm thankful you're okay and avoided the storm.

Happy birthday, Laura!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

No idea what is for dinner. We have no food - I'm eating leftover rice with soy sauce drenching it for lunch. Sad. I will try and make a run to the store this afternoon so we'll have something to cook.

Now I have to ask again.....What on Earth was that silly girl thinking? I can't understand how she let that handsome, well spoken well mannered young man get away, and one who is an athlete to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kat, you have got to be so proud. Please tell him that the Northern Aunties are wishing we were closer so that we could see him play.

DS has his 1st ball game this evening with team pics scheduled before warmups, so we'll be inhaling an early supper or picnicking at the ball park.
Good Luck to your son!

Good luck to DS!!!
I had to chuckle at this, when I read the article this morning the first thing I said was I didn't know that Kyle knew what supremacy meant.:lmao: :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Tonight will be chicken parm using meat from our local butcher / fish shop ( LOVE THEM!) and tons of our own herbs..i will do a sald and garlic bread with it too...I'm psyched because i already have a ton of the ingrediants like fresh mozz , parm breadcrumbs etc..all i need is some more garlic and chicken! easy!!

Have a great weekend ladies! :)

Okay, it's official! I want one of those things. I told my sister that I wanted one and she laughed. :sad2: I bet if I told her DH he would understand...he likes gadgets, especially cools one as much as me and has been known to stalk infomercials. My kind of guy :thumbsup2

We might be having squirrel gumbo for dinner tonight!!! ;)

Happy Birthday Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick update on my Aunt. She was a new person today. She got a little Atavan and it did the trick. I hope she continues to be herself and I know that all those prayers helped. She is planning on a bubble bath tomorrow in a tub that I would not mind owning.

Nan - Great news!!!!! All she needed was a little dose of meds to calm her down and mellow her mind. BTDT with my folks.

I hope it keeps working. I know you also had to go through this and I have a new appreciation of you. You managed without support and I cannot imagine doing this alone, there are three of us and it is exhausting!

I think in any situation you just do what needs to be done without thinking. As I reflect back on those extremely difficult times with my parents I wonder too, how did I do it? Some inner strength just takes over and wills you through.

Good morning everyone!

The look on Kyle's face was priceless this morning. Not only was there a big article, also a huge pic of him in the sports section. I found a link to the pic and one to the article for all of his "Aunties":

Glad everything is okay for you.

I'm a little worried, two Diser's, FroggyinAk and his DW Froggyswife are near where those tornadoes were and I haven't heard from them yet, hopefully everything is okay.

Nancy, good to hear that your Aunt is doing better.

My mother is 63 and I know hard days will be coming. She is in good health now but I just know that woman is going to be the death of me! :rotfl: She had her colonoscopy today, which went well, but on the way home the woman wouldn't stop talking and kept repeating herself. She was loopy as all get out. Then she nearly tripped and fell stepping up on the curb because she was too busy trying to see where some paramedics were going in our townhouse complex. She said if that happened not to worry she would just call out to them to come get her and take her in the house. :rotfl:

Kathy, thanks for the links. That is one fantastic pic! :cheer2: Congrats to Kyle - tell him I'm so excited for him!

I know how proud you are of him!

Tonight we are having a quick dinner sausage, tomatoes and pasta with a salad and then going to the fun fair at Alex's old school

Kathy Let Kyle know how happy we are about the shut-out :cool1:

First of all, thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I am sorry I didn't get on here sooner. It has been a bit of a hectic day. Rather than drinking by myself, I invited a couple of my neighbors over (one of whom is pregnant and is not drinking, so we just had to have her share...:rolleyes1 ) and we let the kids all play. Eight kids indoors on a rainy day would normally make me go :scared1: , but it was fine and we had fun. For my dinner, I made chicken vindaloo, which finally overpowered the fish taco smell from yesterday.

Kathy -- That was a great picture and article on Kyle. Thanks for sharing!

Sheryl -- Yum...your fish tacos looked good too! Maybe I need an outdoor burner...not that I could use it six months of the year!

Nancy -- I am glad your aunt is doing better today.

Well, I guess I had better go take a tour around my house and collect any abandoned juice boxes, stray popcorn, or bowls of melted ice cream. Have a good night everyone.

Laura, Glad you had a nice time today. I remember when I lived on my own with Andrew...the best times were when the neighbors all got together and let the kids play. I live in a pretty rural neighborhood now and don't even see some on the people next door.

I had a nice quiet evening by myself...:)

:lmao::lmao: I can just picture her! I have to admit that I am just a little afraid that will be me soon! I have a little procedure on Friday to get through and I am not looking forward to it, I cannot even take aspirin without getting tired, so anesthesia is going to be hard on Marisa, who will be with me.

Years ago I had to have a lot of dental work but I am terrified of the dentist. I had to take 2 ativan and was as looped as one drugged up gal could be. You are supposed to take your kids to the dentist but Marisa had to take me every week for over a month. Then Buddy had to carry me in and out because I could not walk, I was so drugged, drooling all of the way :scared: It took me two days each week to get back to normal but my kids were all in their teens and not above taking advantage of me. I am still not sure of all the things they asked permission for and all of the places I said the could go :scared1: and God only knows what I ordered for them :confused3

I'm a little worried, two Diser's, FroggyinAk and his DW Froggyswife are near where those tornadoes were and I haven't heard from them yet, hopefully everything is okay.

Pray that the power went out and all is well for them.
