this will be our second time at the caymans and our first time we did the general tour with the visit to hell and turtle farm. However this time there doesn't seem to be any land based excursions listed everything involves being in the water

I don't necessarily want to be in the water and would rather stay on land

Anyone have any suggestions for things to do and see if there are no dcl sponsored port adventures

If you don't want to go to the beach, I suggest staying on the boat. IMHO, the best part of Grand Cayman are the beaches.

Beaches are really what GC is... so if with others, I'd do the stingray feeding in a heartbeat. ( loved it). You can stay on the boat, enjoying the ride to/from and be the photographer??
Enjoy whatever you decide.

We booked a day pass at the Westin. It was a private beach area and a room where we were able to go back and rinse off all the sand before heading back to the boat. It was a wonderful day with beautiful clear water!

beaches, in and of themselves, don't thrill me....we live within minutes of beaches

we traveled to Hell on GC, which was interesting for about thislong....

we are leaving for our cruise in a short while and my DW and myself are planning to stay on the shp when we dock at Grand Cayman

We did the Land & DCL excursion (I am not sure if that is the exact name--it is the duck boat type of ride vehicle). I know it isn't exactly what you are looking for but it was not a beach day or snorkeling tour.
It took us on a brief land tour and then we went out on the water. There were cameras to show the ocean bed and we fed some bread to some fish who swam alongside the vehicle. There was also about an hour stop at a beach club where you could get some lunch or swim (we opted to get some lunch and drinks).
I think it was maybe a 3-4 hour excursion. After, my husband and I just wandered around the shops. We sat on a bench for a while and watched the chickens that were everywhere. It was a nice day.

I was going to recommend the stingray port adventure but that doesn't suit what you're looking for. Our group of 5 (ages 5-70) did that in Grand Cayman and LOVED it! Would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Thank you for the options guys. I knew there was more todo but don't know why all the land port adventures were gone so the day bookings opened.

We did this as well - along with the National Museum in town (it's a 5-10 minute walk from the Cruise Terminal) and really enjoyed both!
