RIV vs CCV direct

Here I am once again contemplating direct points. With CCV on the market for direct and assuming it won’t last past 2/9, wondering if it’s a good idea to pull the trigger on CCV 150-200 to get the blue card over RIV.

Comparatively it seems CCV seems like the better value over time. Unsure of the current pp price but know it’s higher than Riv as of now.

Otherwise CCV seems to have the edge on resale value, annual dues, and points chart. The only thing holding me back is occupancy.

We have a family of 5 and with CCVs occupancy at 4 besides the 2br.

Can anyone help me make it make sense to buy CCV direct over RIV for a family of 5? Occasionally we’ll use the 2 bedroom option but realistically studios or 1 bedrooms would be ideal for us due to points

I don't think the 1BR vs. 2BR will help you. For example, RIV's 1BRs for a week in Season 6 are 321/391. CCV's 2BRs are 362. Pretty much a wash. Yes, the Resort view 1BRs at RIV are a little bit less, but they also only have one bathroom.

I'd buy the one you love. If you don't love either, CCV is fine.

Hard one since RIV only has 2 years on CCV. CCV is a real rockstar if you really sit back and take a look at it. But CCV is more money upfront and that sleeping situation can be hard for families of 5. If you can get past the sleeping surface issue Id say CCV

With CCV, I feel like we would be pigeonholed to only a 2BR while at RIV we’d at least have options on points. Would like CCV just hard to justify it with our family.

Then as long as you are okay with owning a resort that you would later sell as restricted, thus potentially selling for less than CCV then you should buy RIV.

I guess what I was trying to say was: the RIV 1BR does not save you much over the CCV 2BR, and that's only with Resort View. With Preferred View, RIV 1BR costs more than CCV 2BR.

It does save some, I suppose. But unless I loved RIV, I would not want to cram five people into a 1BR there (or, for that matter, most any of the other 1BRs, but that's just me.)

If I had to choose a 2 bed vs a 1 bed for the same pint cost its 2 bed every time! Man CCV has a good point chart!

I’d go into it as a two bedroom family wherever I stay now. Pick the one you like more. I think CCV is worth the extra cost. Point chart and those resort sight lines!
