What is your favorite wine?

I haven't been able to "get" into a red yet. Not a 'real' wine drinker, I suppose. Do you folks drink these reds at room temp? I might have to sample a few.
Personally I enjoy a nice glass of Beringer myself.

My DH likes to drink his reds at room temperature.

Most reds are supposed to be enjoyed at room temp. Just as I wouldn't drink a Reisling at room temp, I wouldn't drink a Merlot chilled.

My favorite wine is Beringer White Zinfandel...Yum...although I am very partial to Champagne..I love that stuff! :)

DW and I both really enjoy the Rosemount Estate Shiraz. Nicely priced Australian. In general we prefer reds to whites and like them at room temperature.

Just recently tried a Kendall-Jackson (I think) Semillon-Chardonnay. We enjoyed that also.

the only wine i can drink while keeping a straight face (and not spitting it out) is white zinfandle. Red wine tastes salty to me and gives me a headache. I also love Arbor Mist, does that count?

Vouvray, drmi-sec. It's heavenly....:D

We got a delicious wine at the Food & Wine Festival last year. It is called "Rosa Regale" by Banfi. It is a sparkling red wine. I was scared it would break on the flight home! I finally found a local liquor store that sells it!

I, too, am definitly partial to red wines. My favorites are: Pinot Noir, Shiraz/Syrah and chianti, although I sometimes really enjoy a good cabernat, merlot or even red zinfandel. I like a nice chilled white wine in the summertime, too, but HATE sweet wines and spumanti. (I don't drink "pink" wine). I also like some dessert wines and always enjoy a nice port after dinner. Anyone ever try ice wine? I almost bought some recently, but it is rather expensive and decided not to:p On our cruise last November, our server suggested it, and I've been dying to try it ever since.

Anything made with grapes. Has an alcohol content, and I can sit on the deck and sip and be happy.

Dunhill and rabbit idge. They aren't expensive wines but then are really good. I wish I bought bottles of wine when I was in Australia, I listen to my son who said I didn't need that. I'll never get back there again, oh well, I can buy some here and pretend I brought it home :D

here is what I like (cheap-wise) -

Rosemont Shriaz (and pretty much anything else Rosemont makes) $9 average.

Gallo Cabernat Sav (the BEST value for $11 bottle level). It's rated 90 from Wine Magazine. Very well rounded. You should try this !

Any Italian Chianti. Best if you have heavy food, like pizza, Chinese food, tapas!

I like soft red wine. We have a local winery, Oliver, that puts out a soft red wine that is my fav. :D

We drink a lot of wine here. :teeth:

Living in California we have a plethora of great vineyards. I admit to being a total wine snob, cheap wines give me headaches and I have to have a decent bottle of wine.

My personal favorite is a Cakebread Chardonnay, but Kistler and Livingston also make outstanding chardonnays, but hard to find.

Other Chardonnays we like (I detest even a hint of sweetness in wine):

Far Niente
Acacia
La Crema
Hess Select

I like red wine as well but the sulfites give me a nasty headache so I can't drink it much.

If you enjoy sparkling wines:

Veuve Clicquot
Iron Horse
Gloria Ferrer

Enjoy! :)

I agree. I ordered a glass of wine at the luau, whatever kind was included and I got so sick. It was a bad scene
