WHAT I'D DO DIFFERENTLY...POR Sept. 2006

Thank you for such a great Trip Report. I really enjoyed reading your TR and loved looking at your pictures. You have a lovely family. My sister and I went this past September, and I agree that this is the best time to go crowd wise. We also ate at Kona Cafe and thought it was our best meal at WDW. :)

Melinda: Great, super, fantastic, wonderful, etc., trip report! I loved your do's and don't's, they were very helpful. And even though we're FL residents and are able to go often I think I'll check out Tour Guide Mike. I'm thinking the $18 would be worth simply for the "secret" passage back to the rope drop area at AK.

Also, I missed commenting on the Hot in Topeka, this has become part of our vernacular as well. Except my kids can't say it just once, it has to be said fast then sloooow, then repeated ad naseum!

Thanks for sharing, I know I wouldn't have the dedication to write a TR so I really appreciate those of you that do!

Melinda -

Your report has been wonderful! And thank you for that picture of your sweet, smiling face in your Epilogue. It matches the sweet spirit that is reflected in all of the encouragement you post on everyone else's TR's. You know first hand how nice it is for someone to respond positively to your report. I know I speak for many when I say thank you for all of your encouragement on mine! :thanks:

I have really enjoyed your TR and I'm sad to see it's over. Maybe you'll get a trip back to the World soon and you can share it with us again. I'll look forward to it.

Don't be a stranger!!

"NOOOoooOOOOoooOO!!!"

You are just one of the BEST! TOP notch! The Big Cheese! Top Dog! Top Banana! Cherry On TOP! ....uh.... BOMA! Diet Pepsi! Expedition Everest!

I just love you more every single time I "read" you!!!!
Soooo sad it's at an end! Your tips for the newbies (and oldies ;) ) were fantastic! I just went to POR in Sept, and agree with everything you said except if you happen to have a family of 6, get 2 rooms, trust mama! The food court there is great and the staff on site is soooo helpful (except the bad-teeth lady in Bell Services...avoid her on a full moon).

I loved your TR and have loved getting to know you better reading it!

:cutie: :goodvibes :cloud9:  princess:

Love UtahMamaWendy

 I can't believe it is over!

I have lived vicariously through you in this report and am looking forward even more to my own trip!
(Which isn't soon enough!:jumping1: )

Getting to know you and your beautiful family has been a blessing! :cloud9:

I look forward to getting to know you even more throughout the coming months, especially on the PEEPS thread! :yay:

I wanted to personally say (now that I have my own username) that I love your TR. Also I agree about Tour Guide Mike. He's my hero!:thumbsup2

THANKS FOR THANKING ME....or something like that....

I've just read through the all the posts since the epilogue and am really touched by your comments. It has truly been my pleasure to get to know you all! Thank you for your sweet words and thanks for reading.

:grouphug:

I am reading Nebo's TR and saw a link to yours on one of your comments. I must say that this is a great report! I have read the entire thing and I really enjoyed it.

Melinda,

I got side tracked by my own little Disney trip and just finally was able to finish your great report!

I am also a rabid TGMer and can't say enough good things about the resources it provides. Between it and the DIS, my house has spent much of the year looking like Buzz with the lights on (even with my Dyson!).

Thanks for sharing and to Mimi in particular, I hope she continues to develop her beautiful artistic eye. She has natural talent!

What a great TR!!

I love that you got to do something special with each of the kids, they must appreciate that.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Melinda,

Thanks again for your wonderful report--it's what got me hooked on TR's! :thumbsup2 Utah Mama's right, you do give the best tips! I'll be keeping my eye out for your next trippie! ;)

Your trip report was great. My family and I were at POR the same time you were also, we were in AB bldg 16. I probably saw you sitting on your bench when I went for coffee also, too funny!!

First of all, I totally agree with Frick. You are such a cutie! Love the picture.

Secondly, I know it takes a lot of effort to put a trip report together especially when you're juggling work and family (and lots of volunteer projects apparently), but I'm so glad you decided to jump in and share your trip with us. You did an AWESOME job and I have thoroughly enjoyed going to Disneyworld with you and your family, Lexmelinda.

Thanks for taking the time to bring us along for the ride.

Melinda,

I found your trip report by accident and I'm so glad I did. You did a fantastic job on your TR and I read the entire thing in one day (just different sittings). You have a great talent for writing and I felt as if I was there (ironic since I've never been to Disney World, not yet anyway :goodvibes ).

I was convinced that I would be staying at CBR in December but after reading your report and then doing a little research, I am soooooo considering Por Riverside. :yay:

Your daughter did a wonderful job taking photos. You have truly been blessed with a talented family.

:cheer2: GO BIG BLUE!:cheer2:
I love college football but my passion is really on the court. 8 straight & counting.

Sorry to see it end ! What a great time this was. POR sounds fantastic.
GO TGM! ( I almost dont even want to write that!) He really set me straight this last trip ~ I was really one of "them" before TGM!

Cheers to another trip:goodvibes

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
Thanks for such a well-written and thought out trip report!

One of the things I love about DIS is the evidence of smart, sensible, funny, life-loving women (and men) that go through the world just doing their thing, but somehow making it better for everyone else. You are one of those people and even though it sounds as if your DH isn't a Disney-lover you strike me as having a really good attitude about that...feeling comfortable letting him do Disney his way...and not feeling like he needed to be in on the program the whole time. That's admirable. Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I wanted to get my post in before your wonderful TR is whisked away to the land of completed trip reports! I really regret not being along for the ride for this truly amazing TR! :sad2: I took some time this morning, and I finally made it through the whole thing! :surfweb: I learned so much from your posts, and I've been to WDW more times than I can count! I really love your writing style and each entry was a joy to read! Thanks for sharing your WDW vacation with all of us! I can't wait to read your next TR!

Take care,
Michelle

I just found this today and want to thank you for entertaining me all afternoon. I enjoyed reading every piece of this. I also have been contemplating POR for our family of 5 on our next trip so your thoughts on that were wonderful. Thank you, thank you!! :goodvibes

I just saw your report title, and then the word, epilogue. I admit, I haven't read a whole lot of it, but , Holy Smokes. I don't think I've ever felt such a "hearttug" reading a report, like I just did. I think your report goes even deeper, it comes from the soul. Even though you have been the one in charge, and reading and posting more on my crap, I am Proud, to be able to call you a friend. :flower3:

Since nebo has coming bearing flowers and all....I will take one last curtain call to say THANK YOU all once again for the kind words.

I feel like I have won a Pulitzer Prize when I read these accolades. I thank you for your compliments of my tips, my writing ability, my daughter's photography, and my commiment to starting (and finishing!) this report.

And, yes, our family does have a laid back attitude when it comes to everyone following "the program." I may be the trip planner but it's everyone's vacation so why not go with the flow so a good time is had by all?

We were blessed with a hotel upgrade, a good plan, good health, free food, and excellent weather. No complaints here at all. It was a great vacation.

But every vacation is a learning experience and I'll tweak a few things next time but nothing major. I've kept my own copy of this report so I won't forget my do's and don'ts. I hope it may have helped some of you, too.

Thanks again really, truly for your kind words. :)
