What everyone should know about BLT - title change

So where exactly do you store your bar of soap?? On the floor of the shower? And this slider door, I don't get it. Does anyone have close up pics of the shower and door so we can see it?

Bar of soap?? Lady, this is an upscale resort. ;) You use the provided shower gel in the shower.

Do you mean there isn't any ledge around the tub at all???

The shower head could be used to strip paint from cars. I had to run half-faucet, half shower to to reduce pressure. Shower stream is not adjustable.

The water stream pressure is adjustable. I have to say we were all laughing hard as my nephew had a shower on a previous trip in the non-master shower and he was howling in pain and commenting. When he was done we wondered what was up... my hubby went to check it out and there's an adjustment -- all showers after that in the two non-master bathrooms were fine. However I couldn't tell you HOW the adjustment is made as I never tried it-- I'll have to ask the hubby later tonight.

I believe I heard that the rooms at BLT don't have ceiling fans. I find that odd. I love having a ceiling fan going while I sleep especially when the AC shuts off.

I believe the fans are set to come on automatically based on movement. So you would not be able to leave a fan on for the white noise effect. Boy we could never share a room, that would drive me nuts! :rotfl:

Who thought this layout was a good idea?? :confused3

This is going to sound sexist, but, I swear, it had to be a man. And an architect. An Engineer would have never combined these two areas.

Ceiling fans come on automatically? I think you mean the exhaust fan in the bathroom.

:worship::worship: Please ask hubby and let us know! I am getting nervous about these little things!

I want to know too!! We return in 2 weeks and that would be a big help. I could not figure it out.

I loved my stay, but BLT does have it's share of oddities. Nothing to be scared of it is still a great place to call home.:wizard:

Have a few more to add:

No pool shower at BLT. You need to go over to the CR pool area and there are locker rooms. 1 shower (HA accessible) in the ladies and if I remember correctly, there are lockers inside the restroom and definitely outside.

The Sand Bar Grill at CR has really great Double Bacon Cheeseburgers:wizard:(probably why my rear keeps scraping the wall:rotfl:) and Baked Lays!

The Fitness Center and Spa are at the CR on 3rd Floor right off the elevators.

No ceiling fans in the studios.

My studio had an Ihome that charged my Iphone and played my music.

The luggage rack is in the back of the closet. I missed it for 2 days there is so much going on in that closet!

Most storage I have ever had in a studio. Lots and lots of storage!

The Wave is awesome for dinner!:wizard:

I saw that AT&T commercial where the guy is watching TV from the empty tub eating a bowl of popcorn and he offers his friend some popcorn and the friend is like "Im not eating in the bathroom":rotfl: This is 2 guys, so even they know better!

Well, one of them knew better. :rotfl2:

We stayed in a lake view studio on 8/21-22. Our unit was on the 9th floor. The views were pretty nice; we could see fireworks from EC easily and the Water Pageant was right outside our window, which was very cool! :lovestruc We will definitely be back, but will focus on either a one or two-bedroom unit. Studio was just too small, IMHO. Our thoughts about BLT -

- Love the location! Just about the best of any DVC, IMHO. :thumbsup2
- Rooms seemed very quiet; in fact, we did not see anyone on our floor except for one guy at the ice machine.
- Did not mind the sliding door to the bathroom. We are all one family and it was a non-issue for us; might be weird otherwise.
- Definitely did not like the "bathroom sink in the kitchen" set-up. Lots of storage space, though.
- The studio is small. Was really surprised how small. Okay for two adults, though.
- Liked the galley kitchen. Set-up was practical and fairly intuitive.
- Liked the balcony size.
- Flat-panel tv - picture was great (watched the Little League World Series while waiting for the rain to lighten up! ;))
- The table next to the bed was too small.
- Whoever slept on the right side of the bed could easily bump into the kitchen wall when rising from the bed; did not seem to be enough space between wall and bed.
- It was brand new on our stay! Everything seemed and looked fresh.
- Getting to the MK is a snap. Crazy easy! :woohoo:
- We've always been CR fans. Enjoyed the Contempo Cafe -- the flatbreads were really great.

I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere...but what is the SF of a studio at BLT? Is it smaller than a value studio, for instance, at AKLV? Sounds to me as though I'll want a 1-bedroom at least for 3 adults, one toddler, otherwise we'll be too close for comfort. We almost added points at BLT last Dec and then decided to add instead at VGC. Can't wait to try it out though some day! Thanks for all the informative posts.---Kathy
