What do you put in your park bag?

We go 2 ways:

#1 - for long days at the parks with no return to the room, or parade days we take the rolling bookbag I purchased several years ago (I think this will be it's 3rd or 4th trip)...it has a big inside, zipper pouch on front with mesh pounch over that, mesh side pouch and zippered side pouch...

Inside goes:
blanket goes on bottom (this is to spread out for the parade spot or to take a short rest on)
lightweight jackets go next (if we think we'll need them)
DH, DS, & DD sometimes take a change of shorts or a t-shirt, dep on weather
baggies of snacks
juice boxes
My Pocket-size (mid size Day Planner) trip organizer / this has all of our ADR's, maps, time sheets, room key/tickets, anything else and personal ID

Outside big zipper pouch:
autograph book
pens
hand sanitizer
baby wipes
clorox wipes
travel size toilet paper
travel kleenex
travel spot remover
small bottle of tylenol or ibuprophen

Outside front mexh pouch:
Umbrella (if needed)
Hidden Mickey Guide
anything we need to get to quick

side mesh pouch:
Water Bottle or a cola

side zippered pouch:
camera
extra batteries
cell phone
disposable video camera (from CVS)

#2 For our quick trips or nights, I take my large Tinkerbell pocketbook I got at Wal-Marts many years ago. It is so cute, has a large screenprint of Tink falling over the spool of thread with glitter and sequins over a black vinyal bag...

I take my baggie with all my travel items (sanitizer, wipes, etc)
camera
extra batteries
cell phone
my above mentioned trip planner w/everything in it
disposable video camera
a few snacks
water bottle or a cola
autograph book and pen
I can fit an umbrella if I need to

All fits nicely into a Mountainsmith Lumbar Day Pack, and no back pain!!!

Disney passes
Credit Card
Small amount of cash
chap stick
cell phone
camera
hand sanitizer

Compared to what I usually carry around in my purse this is quite a challenge for me but I try to travel light..:goodvibes

Too damn much the first day---I should have learned from the first time I went with kids but no...I didn't but what I did end up with in my backpack was
Camera/video camera...extra battery for both and tape and memory card
KTTW (that was in an id zip poch)/photopass/money/cc
tissues/band aids/blister band aids
mints/cough drops/smarties
inhaler/airborne/germx
cellphone

I'm sure that there was more stuff in my bag because it felt like a ton! I know that I did have the lanyards in for a few days--but it came down to just a few pins that the wanted to trade not the whole lanyard

and the autograph book that I made ended up staying back too

In August, I carried (in my VB hipster)
Wet wipes
Camera in case (VB coin purse is the perfect size for my Cybershot)
Cell phone
VB zip id case with KTTW, debit card, and small amount of cash
Pen
Asprin
Windbreaker-- it was super thin/light and I was able to fold it up in a small zip lock back

hotel key with my charge card attached to it
cash
cell phone
lip balm

if the temp is going to change that much in one day, i'd probably have gone back to the room mid-day and changed to warmer clothing - i don't want to carry bulky stuff
--
sometimes a camera, but mostly i just use a photo pass card and cell phone if i want to take a quick picture

THE LESS THE BETTER! <--- for me

We go in empty handed. Even when we took our 3 children we took nothing. It's amazing to me that so many people carry a huge backpack. You don't need to take all the stuff. Sometime try leaving the big bad behind, I'll bet you have more fun with less worry.

As my kids get bigger, my bag gets smaller!:cool1:
However, I find I need to carry tons of change for the penny machines--- "mom. can I have 2 quarters and a penny?" x2

I used to lug a diaper bag around but since my DD is potty trained I thought I'd bring a park bag this time. It was a Disney tote bag that I got with a purchase a few years back. I packed a change of clothes for her just in case, a blanket for Main Street and the MVMCP parade. I used neither but had to lug the bag around all day!

Trying to remember what I had when I went in the spring for my high school's senior trip...

Camera (duh!)
Cellphone
iPod (though I never used it, not even on the bus. We had too much fun talking about our plans for the day :3)
SUNBLOCK!!!
Sunglasses
Cash
My mom stashed some band-aids in there for me :)

Honestly I think that's all I brought. I think when I'm older I'd be more prone to packing tylenol, first-aid stuff, etc. But for now I'm a silly teenager hahaha. Next time I would remember hand sanitizer and WATER.

sorry if this is a silly question, but can refillable mugs be used at the parks? i thought they only were for resorts. would love to know if we can get them filled at the parks. thanks!

I carry a small, lightweight drawstring backpack. In it goes my cell ( I store ADR's on my cell as text messages so I dont have to carry around paperwork!), my wallet, (cash, cc's, room key, ets.), a small bottle of sunscreen, sugarfree gum (you cant get it in any of the parks!), a handheld battery operated fan, (got mine at brookstone- it's amazing! My son always fans other kids during the parade- instant popularity! :rotfl:) Hand sanitizer and a pack of baby wipes. Good for sticky fingers and faces! Thats it! I dont bring extra clothes... I figure the chances of needing them are slim, and in a major emergency we would either run back to the hotel, or Id just pick something up in one of the giftshops. I also dont bring an umbrella or poncho... so what if we get wet! One of the most fun afternoons we ever had at MK was hula hooping in the rain on Main Street! I think bringing a few things will make your day run more smoothly, but bringing too much is a drag! Your backpack should be so light, you barely know its there!

We put as little as possible. Actually, we really prefer not to bring a bag into the parks. We can usually put what we are going to need in our pockets and thus walk around all day un-encumbered. All we take is room key/tickets, cash, ID and perhaps a disposable poncho tucked in our back pocket.

diapers, wipes, sunscreen, water, snacks for kids, our walkie talkies, autograph books for hte kids and pens of course. dh is laden down with the cameras normally. we throw our ponchos in teh bottom of the stroller. oh and a change of clothes for the kids just incase. hand sanitizer and small first aid kit.

Walkie talkies? Do cell phones not work in the park? My DH and I have unlimited mobile to mobile within our family and we were just planning on using them.

Cell phones work just fine in the parks. Of course if you are deep inside some of the show buildings (Soaring comes to mind) you may not have a signal but that's pretty typical. Oh, and be sure to put it on the silent/vibrate setting so that if you do get a call (especially in an attraction) you won't disturb others with the ringing.
