We will be there next week and its not looking too good. Forecast is rain, rain, rain. :sad2:

I look at it this way, any day raining in walt Disney world is better than being at home or work. We were there during rain and what can you do :confused3
We just wore ponchos and made the best of it. During the times it really down poured we just either went in an attraction, ate or hopped in a store.

If it starts to rain, you just throw on a poncho and press on. Hit the indoor attractions and make the best of it. It's still "the happiest place on Earth" even if it's pouring. :thumbsup2

Personally, I say pack some ponchos and umbrellas and plan to go for it! The parks are the least crowded when its raining and if there is no lightening, I believe most of the outdoor rides still keep going as long as its not raining too hard.

It's a great time to do a lot of the indoor attractions (and I highly recommend Epcot for that exact reason). Also from what I hear, its a great time to check out AK and ride the Safari because all of the animals come out to play in the rain.

If you don't want to do the parks, you can head to DTD to do some shopping, see a movie or check out Disney Quest, especially if you have little ones. You can spend a few hours in there checking out all the games and they even have a place in there to grab a bite so you don't even have to go outside!

I say if its going to rain, make the best of it and get wet! Disney can still be fun and you may get to do more than usual!

If it rains long enough the crowd level will drop!
We ride the indoor rides, watch shows, collect fastpasses, snack, or shop. We have moved ADR times around if we are at the resort we nap or play in the arcade

Put on a poncho and do all the same things you planned to do before it rained. :)

Seriously, rain ain't so bad at WDW. It tends to keep the crowds down a bit in the parks, so you'll ride more rides, with shorter lines.

1st - don't believe all the people who will tell you, "It only rains for 20 minutes!" There is no magic weather umbrella that prevents longer rains...especially in rainy seasons.

I plan every morning as an "in the parks" morning. It does rain all day sometimes, but mornings are usually okay.

We have done parks in the rain, but generally when it is raining hard, we leave.

We've gone to many a dinner show, seen the Titanic experience, the upside down house place, etc.

The big McDonalds is a nice experience - they have a pasta bar that isn't bad and is really good, considering it is McDonald's.

One August we had 9/10 days of rain. Doesn't always happen, but it can. DS bought a Mickey pin in a yellow poncho because he felt it was an apropos souvie for that trip. Almost all those days were "rain for hours" kind of rain.

You do your best!

Bring extra shoes. You can try that "fill them with newspaper and they dry overnight" thing, but it only works for some people (not me.) An extra pair won't hurt.

Good luck and have fun!

We put on old sneakers, get a good poncho and go to the park. We also have done movies at DTD and Disney Quest.

eggzackly. I have been there with rain swirling up around my ankles (can we say 'flash flood'?) and we threw on ponchos and just kept going.

We are also going next week, and this is the week we typically go. The forecast usually says rain, and it does seem to normally rain most days. Mornings are drier than afternoons, but not always.

We've been there in tropical storms and heavy rain showers and it really clears out the parks! There are enough inside attractions that you can still make a day of it!

I get wet. I don't even bother with the poncho most of the time in the summer. I love when it rains at Disney because it empties the park and I really don't care about getting wet.

:thumbsup2 Yes, this! And just like all the PPs said! It rained a few times during this last trip for us (8/3-8/10) and we just, well, got wet! I have a great picture of my dh and kids coming back into the "station" at Splash Mountain in the pouring rain (I don't ride it - I take the chicken exit so I'm waiting for them at the end.) A wet day at Disney sure beats a dry day at home!

Just keep going! Lines get much shorter as people hide from the rain. One of our fun memories is rain at MK when the kids were little. We just splashed through puddles as we went from attraction to attraction in Fantasyland. We just popped back to our resort later to change.

DD and I even survived an entire day of pouring rain last March. That time was cooler temps so we wore ponchos and hats and carried an umbrella. Epcot and DHS had super low crowds. All you can do is make the most of it :goodvibes

We always have those $1 disposable ponchos with us during the rainy months. And we all have shoes we can wear in the rain...comfortably. So, if it rains, we are good to go. Generally speaking, rainy days in WDW are no big deal...just poncho-up and keep on trekking. BUT..if the skies open and lightening starts bouncing around, then you may want to seek shelter!!!! That's about the only time we head indoors. The lighening in Orlando is crazy!!

I am one of those that read up on what to do if it rains too. :rotfl: I decided before our trip that I would just suck it up and realize it's no big deal if I get soaked (which I cant stand.) Like its been said, a rainy day at Disney is better than a rainy day at home. I stressed over the forcast before we left and by the time we got there, the weather had changed totally. We still had rain so one morning we put on our crocks, dark shirts for the girls :lmao:, grabbed the ponchos and headed to the parks. We had a ball. It was cooler, and very light crowds. Another day we spent time visiting other resorts and looking for hidden mickeys. Have a great time and just roll with the punches.:goodvibes

I realize there's a fair amount of tropical activity over the next week or two, but also keep in mind that the central Florida forecast almost always has a high percentage of rain almost every day. That doesn't mean its going to rain every day and it certainly doesn't mean its going to rain all day every day. Yes, when a tropical storm hits, it can be very rainy, but typically the forecasted rain is in the form of afternoon thundershowers. It usually rains very hard for a short time. Sometimes the showers can go on for longer periods, but that seems to be the exception more than the rule.

Family tradition..

Put on rain ponchos and go... Rain don't stop us.. :3dglasses

I always have an umbrella and we take our ponchos in the backpack. I also always wear shoes that can get wet, usually Keens. I've ruined a couple of pairs of Birkies at DW, so I learned my lesson.
