Thursday.....still working on leftovers from sunday buffet....and Just think...it sat out for hours

Sooooo tempting! But last night was an over indulgent pasta dinner, so tonight we'll be good. (But I'm still putting pancakes on the dinner menu for sometime soon!)It's Shrove Tuesday - we're having pancakes and bacon with fruit salad.![]()
Tonight was leftovers from Valentine's Day dinner- meat loaf and green bean casserole- with Zatarain's black beans and rice (not leftover) as a hat-tip to Mardi Gras. I'd originally planned to do a gumbo but the weather was lousy, roads were icy, so I didn't venture out to the grocery store. Of course, Valentine's dinner was supposed to be baked ham, until I unwrapped the ham at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. Oooohhh, eeeewww... was it stinky. The grocery store label said last sale date was 2/10/21, so I was sure it was OK (it's ham, it's cured and cooked) but when I investigated I found a tiny sticker (from the manufacturer?) that said 1/5/21- and I believe it! Talk about a nasty slimy stench! I'm going to have words with the grocery store guys!
