What’s for dinner?

Thursday.....still working on leftovers from sunday buffet....and Just think...it sat out for hours

Tonight it was pork chops, mushroom pan gravy, mashed potatoes and a green salad. Tomorrow night we'll eat out for Valentine's day if we can get in anywhere. Our restaurants just re-opened for dine-in last Monday and there are very strict occupancy rules in place. Wish us luck.

Tonight we're having pancakes (with real maple syrup) and scrambled eggs.

It's Shrove Tuesday - we're having pancakes and bacon with fruit salad.

Sooooo tempting! But last night was an over indulgent pasta dinner, so tonight we'll be good. (But I'm still putting pancakes on the dinner menu for sometime soon!)

Tonight was leftovers from Valentine's Day dinner- meat loaf and green bean casserole- with Zatarain's black beans and rice (not leftover) as a hat-tip to Mardi Gras. I'd originally planned to do a gumbo but the weather was lousy, roads were icy, so I didn't venture out to the grocery store. Of course, Valentine's dinner was supposed to be baked ham, until I unwrapped the ham at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. Oooohhh, eeeewww... was it stinky. The grocery store label said last sale date was 2/10/21, so I was sure it was OK (it's ham, it's cured and cooked) but when I investigated I found a tiny sticker (from the manufacturer?) that said 1/5/21- and I believe it! Talk about a nasty slimy stench! I'm going to have words with the grocery store guys!

Yep - they'd get the whole mess deposited on the counter of the customer service desk and I'd be getting a refund if it were me. Sorry for the disappointment - a small thing maybe but still irritating.

Last night was turkey taco bowls. Ground turkey and black beans over brown rice with toppings.
Tonight is soup and grilled turkey and provolone sandwiches on pretzel buns.
Tomorrow will likely be some sort of pasta and a salad.

Turkey meatballs in grape jelly/chili sauce and couscous with chopped spinach and lemon zest - unless I stop at the store on the way home and pick up something different. I haven't got any other meat on hand.
