I'm hoping the Adventure will get more international options in the MDRs, but it appears that they are making a lot of more exotic (for Americans anyway) cuisine available in the casual dining venues.
The Concierge team replied to let me know that Platinum guests will be entitled to a free dinner at Palo Trattoria—but with such a short cruise (and our kids wanting to do M&S Flavors of Asia), I don’t think we can spare more than one night out of the MDR…
They suggested I won’t get more information about schedules until after check-in in the app, but I thought this was the kind of thing you can typically find out from Concierge before the booking window opens…. I’m not sure where the Concierge is based and if they are new or if there is a language barrier (or both) but they didn’t actually provide any information specific to Adventure about what can be booked in advance and/or when we would get more information.
The found the Asian based call centre to be totally absolutely useless zero knowledge , zero magical customer service vibes. They didn't even know the placeholder gave 10%off. Then I found out they had used my placeholder before I decided to go ahead with he reservation. I had to call the American call centre to rectify.
You know, you can go ahead and link my PTR. With my cat dying, planning this cruise is really the only thing making me "happy" so I'm going to try pretty hard to make it happen.

Thank you very much. It was very sudden. We just moved to Japan in mid-March and she died 3 months later. She became extremely anemic but we still dont know what caused it cause her red blood cell levels were too low to do any biopsies or operations. On June 18th, we went back to the hospital for normal blood tests. Thats when I found out her body stopped producing red blood cells. I had just ordered pee pads that came that morning, I packed an extra one for the trip back home. She never came back home. I wanted to bring her back for one last day but its 1hour on the bus plus 10min bike ride, one way. After spending $6k+CAD on trying to keep her alive, I couldn't afford a taxi or Uber back home. She just wouldn't have been able to handle that commute twice and I didn't want her to die alone, when I was asleep, so she was euthanized that day. I have absolutely no friends here and the only hugs I've received were from the vet on that day. Its been beyond devastating, she was my world.
The only thing that helps me stay alive is planning for this trip, so Im trying every avenue I can to afford this trip.

I sooooo understand! My poor cat was diagnosed with haemobartonella (renamed to mycoplasma haemofelis years later) when she was less than a year old. The transmittable parasite makes red blood cells break down. Her illness came on suddenly and she couldn't handle it on her own. It was hundreds then thousands trying to keep her going. Insane looking back but each visit was small at the time, it took awhile to diagnose, and she was SO young it made sense to keep going. Later we found my roommates cat also had it; they had a fight where my cat was injured while I was away for a weekend which is how it would have spread. After that is when she got sick... I'll never know for sure who gave it to who, but his cat led a perfectly normal life whereas mine couldn't. Seems unfair... but that's life.
Hopefully it is comforting to know that even if they had been able to diagnose and treat the uderlying cause it would likely have been expensive and quality of life may well have been less following. In any case, I'm so sorry this had to happen at all, and especially when you feel so very alone. I imagine it is especially hard making friends in Japan, at least to the degree of having a shoulder to cry on so soon. (If anyone is wondering why I'd say such a horrible thing please know this is a culture that will look the other way when something embarrasing happens to help you save face. If you trip and fall, everyone keeps walking. They think of it as a kindness... whereas we'd think it polite to offer a hand. Not saying that is everyone either, but just considered the social norm.)
I don't regret the choices I made, but looking back it was 10 years of stress and various complications arising from the meds. So many vet visits. So much money (I felt responsible to give her the best I could even though I wasn't making a good wage at the time as I was fresh out of Univeristy. Bouts of anemia, fear every time I left her alone to travel, and so much burden of medicines. I couldn't board her normally, either my parents helped or I paid for medical boarding at the vet. She developed diabetes as well at one point so we had to switch her to high protein wet food and give her twice daily shots... her ears wilted from prednisone, her fur went white in spots, she lost it in some areas towards the end, she was on antibiotics her whole life. The final straw was when her eyes became infected and she just couldn't fight it off. I remember standing in the emergency vet arguing with a well meaning technician telling me how very well blind cats do if I let them do the surgery to amputate both. Enough was enough and I had to demand they put her down. I still shudder thinking about having to be so blatant about it as it was the absolute last thing I WANTED to do. She would just purr throughout all of this every time she went in... and was absolutely the best cat. She was friendly, social, and somewhat sadly always ravenous. I still miss her every day, and sometimes still catch myself thinking it may have not been time, but I know deep down it was probably beyond time. It is SO hard to know.
I'm booked on the Adventure B2B starting March 2 2026. 3-night in Concierge followed by a 4-night in a Garden view verandah. I'm very excited! I will be celebrating my 50th birthday on this trip. Also I am Singaporean, but I've lived in the US most of my life, so it's like a coming home celebration. Can't wait!

Oh no! I had no idea how easy it was for cats to get anemia. The only way she could have gotten anything was that I boarded her at her normal boarding place a week before the move (when I was packing up everything and the movers came and such). That's the only time she could have gotten anything if it was passed along, but they would have reported if there was a fight or somesuch thing.
Awe I'm so sorry you had to go through that for so long. Mochi (my cat's name) had it go bad, very fast. When we first moved here she seemed fine but then I thought she was a little depressed being here cause she wasn't acting like her self so much. But then, she self isolated in the bathtub (very deep here) and that's when I knew something was wrong. That was the tail end of May and was dealing with back and forth with the vets, overnight at the vet, 3 blood transfusions, trying different meds and injections. Just nothing worked. I spent a total of over CAD$6k to keep her alive. I love her so much, she was my everything. But as soon as I saw her body stopped fighting, well, I knew it was a matter of time. The vet said 2-3 days but you could tell how tired she was. She even jumped around the waiting room (a private waiting room at the hospital) just before the procedure, I have it on video, but at the end once she finally got to the window sill, she just flopped and that's when you really see just how run down she was.
I completely understand what you mean by the Japanese culture, you are right. I had to go home right after the procedure by taking a bus for an hour. I cried the whole way walking to the bus stop, waiting for the stop, on the bus, walking/biking back home. Just the whole time. It was brutal. No one stopped at all.
But, on better news; I'm in Japan for research and I applied for an emergency bursary fund through my university due to medical bills. They originally denied it because it was for a cat but I'm like, Oh No you don't! A random $6k+ bill out of nowhere is a lot for anyone, human or animal. They were able to help me out with over half of what I spent, so I'm super grateful
Cats man... they are so good at acting like nothing is wrong until they've gotten so bad for safety in the wild. I'm glad you were at least able to get some financial help! Hopefully that puts your cruise much closer to a reality!

Right? She didn't let me know anything was wrong until her red blood cell count was too low to figure out what it was. I thought she was depressed cause she was super healthy before coming here.
Yes, it does! Now im annoyed with how prices shot up for flights. $700+CAD for round trip flights now. Between Tokyo and Singapore its like 7.5 to almost 8 hours 1 way. Premium economy is $1100 but on a budget airline, so no screen to watch movies.

Whoa I had no idea! It would be a 16 hour flight for me and $1400 USD RT from Portland. I'm assuming you're pricing it out in yen, right and just said CAD for ease of comparison...? Prices can be night and day depending on what currency/location you book from.

I haven’t watched tv or movies on a plane screen in years (and I fly at least 50,000mi a year) because I load books, magazines, podcasts, and sometimes tv shows on to my iPad before departing…. Though I do like being able to watch the flight map and flight data on my screen.
If there’s a much better deal, I wouldn’t sacrifice it for in flight entertainment options— on our last LA to Hawaii flight, 3 out of 5 of us had broken IFE and the overhead lights were stuck on (DL in premium class on a flight delayed so long it was practically a red eye).
Thanks for starting this thread. We are eyeing a possible Christmas 2026 cruise coupled with ABD SE Asia (we've already done ABD China and ABD Japan). Was hoping for more concierge info by this point--disappointing to hear so little info being released.
Hello! I’m so happy to have found you all! We’re doing a 4 night cruise in April (16-20). We’re hitting all 3 Asian Disney parks beforehand so we’re really looking forward to a few days of nothing at the end.
Adding our plans to the thread… we are Australian and have 2 of the very early cruises booked: 1st cruise is Dec 27th 2025 to Jan 1st 2026, and then the 2nd cruise is Jan 5th to Jan 8th, with some quiet time in Singapore in between.
Really looking forward to seeing all of the smaller details coming out in the next few months!
Have been to Singapore before and absolutely loved it- really excited to have a larger ship now permanently much closer to home.

Have you spent any time thinking about the most efficiently flight route that hits Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore?
We are trying to squeeze in a week in Australia instead of hitting Shanghai this trip. My brain keeps shorting out every time I should be finalizing plans.

The most efficient way would be Tokyo -> Hong Kong -> Singapore -> Australia, or the exact reverse. Anything else will result in some kind of backtracking or unnecessarily longer travel between places

We have spent time thinking about this trip like no other. We’re going Tokyo, Shanghai, HK, and then Singapore. We haven’t decided if we’re booking the two long legs separately or together. The other ones will be quick and cheap. There is so much to consider for this trip!
