Hi everyone....busy day here....

Chris' appt with the Navy recruiter lasted for 2 1/2 hours yesterday - they are meeting again with Jeffrey Friday night. He took a prelim. ASVAB - average score is 30 out of 99 - he scored 69! They would like him to sign for delayed entry..... My gut tells me this may just be the right thing for him - but I want him to take a month and think it over.

He has traffic court this afternoon - hoping to clear that all up.
I called his Dean of Students and thanked her for the way she handled the incident this week - I think she appreciated my call.
I'm off tonite and leaving tomorrow at noon for the weekend.

Lets see....
Yuck on s....
Hurray for Tara - I bought points from one of my friends last year and stayed at Wilderness Lodge Villas.
I'm making shepards pie today too....we all could be related !!
Alan - perhaps a coin dispensor belt could be added to your dancing attire??
Elaine - glad to hear Luis is home.
Suzanne - I'm with you on the fast food - though I will admit I like the new McD's snack wrap.
Pam - sounds like a nice article.
Lily - stay safe in all that s.....

More later - hugs all around :grouphug:

I'm glad Chris did so well on the test, and wish best of luck in making a decision that is best for him ::yes::

Did mom put Elaine on restrictions and take away her 'puter priveleges? :lmao:

Sherry, I promise I wasn't insinuating anything about your cooking! :rolleyes1

:wave2: Alan, say something to get me out of trouble. :teeth:

Paula, congrats to Chris and his great score. I know it's tough, keep hanging in there.

Rose Mary!!! :lmao:

Actually no, I just had a bunch of things to do... ran errands and went to the store further away to get something I know Luis likes but the other doesn't carry.

Did you know they have chocolate covered nutter butter cookies now? :faint:
And mint oreos covered in fudge? :faint:

Tis the season to break out the old, big comfy clothes ;)

Pammy, thanks for sorta sticking up for me there! I'll share my cookies if you keep on being nice ;) How is the snow fall going? It stopped way early here (thank goodness)

Lily, out of pure curiosity, do y'all prep the roads before it snows? Ours melted on the streets since it stopped early because they use this chemical that melts it quicker and if it is below freezing. We hardly ever get stuck here... even with the 18" of snow and 3" of ice we had, we were clear by noon!

Suzanne, I had the hankering for that real chicken too ;) however ours is at a mall so I went with Dinty More instead. I admit, I worked at McD's for about 2 years and I still have never had a big mac. They are just way too big now... I'm more of a kids meal kid of girl :)

Paula, I am so glad to hear that Christopher did so well on the test!!! It does sound like a good thing for him... though I totally agree with him waiting! I would too to make sure it is the right thing!

Alan... not worth talking to now...

back home and it is chilly out, but not too bad. I had on my heavier coat and found that was a wee bit too much. I think I'll stick to my little leather one tonight for practice.

I'm back. Baking cookies, because we're about to put the tree up. :teeth: In honor of the occasion, Neil's requested The Santa Clause.

Paula, WTG on that test! I dated a guy in high school who entered the military and he didn't do so hot-ended up being a boiler mechanic. At least it was a good trade that he could use when he got out.

Lainey, ended up not going for it-but I will sometime soon. I ate the leftover gourmet pizza I brought home from work. Stay warm. Yeah, if I have fast food, most of the time it IS a kids meal. At that, I usually don't finish the fries.

Alan, count your blessings that they don't put gift cards in that g string! :rotfl2:

Rosemary, love that elf name :lmao: I may be a Gator girl sometime next year, so you're not alone. They've got a distance learning program for the degree I'd like and the idea of logging in and studying whenever I can is better than trying to fit classes around a retail and family schedule.

Pam, the Roadkill Cafe is gearing up, huh?

Tara, woohoo on the 15 a point off. I rechecked our finances and no deal for us this year. Too bad Ed MacMahon hasn't found his way to my house yet-I know the prize patrol has a check with my name on it somewhere. I don't even need millions-thousands will do!

Lily, enjoy the shepherds pie. I've got mini portions of it from last month's menu. The menfolk won't eat it, so there's plenty for me.

Speaking of which, Bethie, the Galettes are my FAVORITE-you have them as a choice next month :thumbsup2. I loved the test of the Everything Chicken, but they added even more yummy stuff-I don't think mine will make it to the freezer this month!

Sherry, I had the sickie home, too, but this one gets paid for going in.

Time to get more cookies out of the oven.

Suzanne

headed out to take Jar ot his counseling appt.

Saw the neurodevelopmental NP today. She told me that taking the zoloft for anxiety would not cause him to hurt himself. So it was probably because the stress of being away from home and off of his schedule. So we are leaving him on it for a while longer so we can see if it will help his behavior in the mornings.

But she was reading the different reports in his file and she noted that every report describes him differently and that she sees traces of autism there (Asperger) but it is inconsistent. So she had me do a ratings scale to see if there were hints at autsim (I can't think of what you call this kind of a scale). Anyway, a score of anything over 80 suggests a high degree of possiblity of autism. Jar's score as reported by me was 88! She also asked lots of other questions and she felt that he was showing signs of ASD. So we are setting up an appt. with a specialist to have him thoroughly evaluated for ASD.

I just wish they would figure out what is wrong with him and fix him. I have so many days where I don't like being his mother because I don't know how to deal with him. I look at Ethan and think about how easy he is and wish that Jarrod would be like him! :headache:

Oh well, I have to get moving to get Jar to his appt this afternoon! oh joy!!

sorry for the eiop...feeling a little stressed again!!

But the plus side is WDW has my $500 deposit!! :woohoo:

later gators....and nuts (as in buckeyes)
tara

Hang in there Tara. We did not get a more specific diagnosis other than Autism/PDD ourselves but once we were able to find a doctor to diagnose and pinpoint problem areas, the medicinal and diet changes have been very positive for us.

Of course, I say that before I have to work with her tonight to write up a report for school tomorrow. ;)

Okay...the pictures are now on imagestation. I think I want to remove the pics of me before posting ;) Remember I was sick...that is a good excuse for taking bad pictures right :teeth: I have to say that Todd's camcorder took better pictures than my camera, guess I may be looking into a new camera...but not until I get a laptop.

Sherry...good thing not everyone wanted the pie since you only have a little left. I am sure Junior didn't complain.

Tara...glad you are now able to get your appointments, prayer on getting a diagnosis sooner rather than later. We definitely have to hang out again.

Looks like sickies in all households, get out the Lysol. We need it here too.

Elaine...winter comfy clothes will have to come out here if I don't get to feeling better. I eat awful when I don't feel well. The stress doesn't help either.

Well...I am off to lie down.

Night!

Should I be offended? Two people asked if my sickie ate my shepherds pie!! :earseek:
:( :furious:
And, no, he didn't eat the pie. :lmao: But, the 2 that did are not sick and neither am I. So,

Suzanne, sorry you have a sickie, too. What kind of cookies are you making?

Paula, great news about Chris's score. I think waiting awhile is a good idea.

Amanda, Junior is on afternoons now, so he wasn't home for the pie. :teeth: He wouldn't of eaten it anyway.....he's another who doesn't like it. :rolleyes1
Hope you feel better soon. Where's the Imagestation link?

Tara, hang in there.

Alan, have fun with that report. ;) :teeth:

Elaine, we have had a break from the snow for awhile, but its coming back tonight. :rolleyes1

Tara, get out of my brain! That is what it's like with my two-one's as easy as can be and the other just doesn't get it! On our front, she just upped his Abilify-thank God we've got insurance again.

:grouphug:

Suzanne

Sherry, chocolate chip here. First dozen were consumed almost directly from the cookie sheet. :teeth:

Tree is fluffed, Kevin had been anxiously awaiting putting up the ornaments-so now he's having fun. It's very cute, he's asking where each ornament came from-and wanted to know why we've got an outhouse ornament! :rotfl2: Had to explain it came with the can of caramel corn, lol.

Sounds like you have a Redneck friend or sumptin' Suzanne! :confused3

:lmao:

Yee Haw! Time for me to fire up the old General Lee and hit the road!! :rolleyes1

Tara -

But that's certainly not a bad thing :)

Have a great evening y'all.

Tara, sorry that things can't seem to get figured out with Jar. I know it is difficult.

Elaine, I think the only place that preps the roads is ODOT (state crews) around here. The smaller communities or big city don't.

Suzanne, I hope your sickie gets better soon. Glad you're managing the tree. DH just put up a couple of ornaments. Lights are on. I love warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies.

Amanda, can't wait to see your pics. Sorry you want to edit out you.

Paula good news about that score. Good luck with the decision and with the court date.

Just got home from a long day. Went to a Christmas dinner with folks from work. My entire day wasn't worth it to me. I'm going to bed. Was going to work on a couple of pics, but just can't give any more.

I have a rotten headache so forgive this lame response

Lily, we have ODOT for a lot of the area here too... each city has the ability to have its own crew, and it seems that the city I live in, the one north of me and a few others like that are fine. The City of Columbus is kind of shakey, but with the smaller amounts, they do fine since they all use these new chemicals (started a year or two ago). I don't think we've had a school closing in several years because of it.
Hope tomorrow is better

Woo hoo for redneck people!!! I've got many of those in my family... fortunately I don't have to see them much ;) :p
:duck:
(ly/mi and y'all know that is so not true of me... well I do have them, I just don't avoid them... sadly they avoid me :()

I'm so wanting those chocolate chip cookies!!! Share please!!!! I did buy eggs to make them earlier today though.

Sherry, actually I was implying that whatever he ate made his stomach hurt... not what Rose Mary was saying ;) If he ate teh shepherd's pie he would have been fine... didn't make it today, will tomorrow

Tara here is a huge  I really do wish you well! As a PITA kid growing up (trust me at my age, when you are only slightly something it gets overlooked a TON as a kid... they didn't find out I was lysdexic until I was 16 or 17) I really do feel for you... I know I wasn't fun for my family and sometimes still not for Luis. Good luck and hopefully a good diagnosis will help give good ideas on how to treat/deal with it all

Amanda, I was all bloaty feeling and gaggy during my last trip (sinus drip plus pregnancy equalled massive gagging problems) and I still shared pics, so we'll be understanding with yours ::yes::

I don't ahve much left in me either... night all!

good chilly morning gang...26degrees here this morning!!

have a full blown cold now  but I got all the christmas deco out for mom, so I expect the entire house to be finished when I get home today :teeth:

off to fight with Jarrod!!

tara

Good :cold: Morning to ya'll! It's a nice brisk 35 for us right now and suppose to drop as the day goes on. I know, I know at least I don't have to deal w/what some of you guys are dealing with. But, come on people this is Florida.!

:furious: That's ok, just throw me under the bus, Missy! And you know who you are! :p
I love you Sherry!
Tara, good luck, hang in there and trust me, I think alot of us have felt like you do. Some days I have wished someone would fire me from my "mom" job so I wouldn't have to deal with some things.
Amanda, can't wait to see ALL your pics. Hope you get to feelin' better.
:wave2: Lily, hope you have a better day today!
:wave2: PAM!
:wave2: Kimmar!
:wave2: Alan!
:wave2: Todd!
SUZANNE, any cookies left? :teeth: Got me wanting to cook up a batch myself this weekend. :cheer2: another one for my team! :teeth: Love the idea of that distance learning program. May have to check into it myself.
:wave2: Paula!

Morning!!

Cold one here, too, but the high is 31, so not too bad. We have some flurries right now, too, but shouldn't add up to much, if any.

Aww, Rose Mary, I love you, too!! :teeth:
I can send you some snow so you can really feel what winter is all about. ;)

Hi Kimmar!! Good to see ya pop in!!

Have some errands to run this morning. Going to the UAW Hall when Junior wakes up and getting a BJ's membership. He can get 15 months for $30. :bounce:
