Howdy to all you hillbilly wannabes

Course, I'm a flatlander myself and much more urbane and sophisticated. ::yes::

Suzanne, I'm glad you took the high road and the complainer came back and apologized.

back from my shower. It was very nice, but not overly done.

Does that mean you scrubbed your feet, but not behind your ears? :confused3

All of this talk of painting/staining reminds me of one of my first pets, Bucky.

We live near a river and my dad found Bucky the beaver apparently abandoned, lost, etc. and brought him home.

We raised him as a pet but he had one annoying habit...he chewed things. He used those teeth to open cans, etc.

One day he got into our shop and get into the cans of varnish where he opened one and died unfortunately.

He suffered a horrible death

For those of you who have invested an emotional committment to the above story, I do have to admit that the character of "Bucky" is a complete fabrication and no beavers were harmed in the lengths I just went to make a lousy pun. :teeth:

Good morining y'all!

:rotfl: Alan, you're a nut. :rotfl:

Nancy, I think we should be able to have oodles of cabana honeys now! :p Elaine has three... that constitutes as oodles right? I'm thinking no limit is a good number now, what'cha think? :teeth: Not that you need anyone else with that pirate you've got, but... well... one of mine is rather young, one a little old, you know how it is... ;)

40k... wooo! Chatty chick ain't she? :thumbsup2

What kind of countertops are you looking into Tara? Your colors sound beautiful! Very warm and cheery!

Ah! Excederin Migraine. Yep, Tara's right Suzanne. Someone else pointed that out to me a few years ago after I mentioned using Ex. Migraine. The caffeine, aspirin and acet. dosages are the same... even in a store brand like Target or Walmart equiv.

Driving. Ugh. Story of my life. On the road again today... and tomorrow. Sigh. Last week of school though. Thank Goodness.

Elaine, if you try the black, I'd love to see pictures. We're thrilled with our black set. I hope it works for you! Nice find on the Vanity store too. Looks like some cute stuff!!

Okay, I've stalled long enough. Off to tackle the treadmill.

Grass is cut, picked up a few groceries, and then stopped at McD's and grabbed lunch. :teeth:

Alan, *groan* :lmao:

Elaine, I forgot to say congrats on 40K! :bounce:

Tara, glad your feeling a bit better. :)

Hey gang, I found a picture of the countertops we want to get. They are from Wilsonart.
145727.jpg
You can't see it in the picture but it has a little bluegreen and little pinky/peach, and grey. It looks beautiful with the floor tiles and the paint colors.

Mom called me a while ago and told me that she didn't remember painting the room such a checker board. It seems that the paint has faded around the picture frames and there are no splotches of the dark pink under all the picture frames!! I guess we should move art work around occassionally!

yeah! sherry...lawns done!!

kimmie...glad school will be over soon for you!! Mine seems like it is forever away from here!

Alan...you are soooooooo bad!! :lmao: And yes I scrubbed the bottoms of my feet too...I just didn't use the froo froo smelling bath stuff! Nothing like plain ole soap in order to have a nice shower!

the computers the kids are on are acting up, so I guess I better help them out!

Nope, really only 2 1/2... I'm trying to sell my third but have had no offers yet

Boy is this place pokey for me! Taking forever to even load the page to reply.

Nancy, I am sorry that Dave is home sick. I really do hope you won't get it. Good luck with everything else this week too

Sherry, I hope the grass cutting wasn't too bad. I was weeding and trimming bushes today. Luis fortunately did the grass on Sat. Sorry about the Cavs, but I hope this is just the beginning of something good for them now!

LOL, Tara, have you seen Nancy's post count? She's got tons more than me!!!!

You know Suzanne, I am glad someone else mentioned the exedrine migraine. One of my friends was just here and was talking about it. Said she just buys the off brands of regular exedrine and it works great. The only bad thing about it, she says is that she can't drop caffeine. As soon as you do that, you'll have constant headaches for about a week or two. That's if you take it daily like she used to. Now she's on asprin and coke only when needed :rotfl2:

Kimmie, I'll take pics if I get to the table. Right now the legs are white and the top is a much lighter shade. I have a feeling that if I paint all the chairs black and put a cushion on each, that I will like it better than just plain stained. Could be a fun project that I could try to do sometime this summer (when I can take the table outside)

Oh Tara, I love the countertop! I think that's about the color I am looking for though, I think less blue in it. I need to get the paint sample home and check. Though with wiring, and deck work, I have a feeling that the counter will be done another year or two.

Tara has made overtures towards it. But she wants a more thorough scrubbing in the shower, and I don't know if I'm *that* available!

Did y'all see the thread that Towncrier posted ? I'm glad everything is okay.

However, if I understand it correctly, he said that appealing mangos, like those of Sue's, can lead to heavy breathing.....

Thanks Kimmar!

And just giving a little bump since no one really has anything else good to say

I have knitting tonight and that's about it.

Hey now. Let's leave Sue's mangos out of this conversation. I'm in enough trouble as it is. :stir:

And if you are the least bit interested in seeing what Philips / Norelco is up to these days, you should check out the following link. Holy kiwi's, Batman.

Holy cow, that's a crazy site.
Hope Sue is feeling better.

Tara, that is my countertop!!! :bounce: We just got ours last year. I love it!! Great choice! ;) :thumbsup2

Alan...you'd be off the hook with the scrubbing, I have other chores for you!! :teeth: making drinks, fanning me, fetching my bon bons and such!! :teeth: !!

Cool Sherry and I will have twin kitchens!!

I took a picture of the samples all together but haven't down loaded them yet. We had to put mom's closet up tonight. One project done...50 to go!! Anyone wnat to paint this weekend?

Going to bed here soon. Have a good evening all!!

tara

John :rotfl: Nice of you to stop in too :teeth:

I need to check out that site tomorrow... no time tonight.

Woo hoo, Tara wants my 1/2 a man!!! Wonder if he's willing to leave me now ;)

Knitting was good... off to bed though :wave2:

Yeah, we're painting, but we've got one of our own to do! The bright spot in this one is that there's only two desks to move out (and assorted debris), and that can go in the front room.

I meant to say I bought the generic of the Excedrin Migraine. I'm my father's daughter-never pay more for the same thing! If they had it at Costco, I'd be all over it there! Fortunately, the headaches aren't as bad as they once were-about two or three headaches a month, three or four migraines a year. That's down from two or three migraines a WEEK!

Gotta hit the hay. I'm doing a presentation at the career studies center near my store-let's see how the culinary ops kids feel about working in their chosen career field. Fortunately, we pay better than any place in the mall-but that means I can be picky! :teeth:

Suzanne

Good morning everyone!

Wow, John. That was quite a story. Glad that everything worked out for Sue. Just goes to show that fruit is bad for you ;) Just kidding.

You know, ladies, I went as far as looking up airfare for a late October trip, and then I said to myself, "I really can't go so close to my December trip." It's only like five weeks before that. If I go again, I really need to go in September or very early October, so I probably won't go down when everyone is there :(

Gotta get dressed and out of the house in five minutes for my bus. Have a great day, all!

JellyrollsKaren

Morning!

I won The Producers DVD this morning from Newschannel 5. :teeth: :bounce:

Good morning y'all, and congrats Sherry. I have not yet watched the movie.

Instead we are watching Season 1 of Wonder Woman that I bought for the girls. I love seeing all of the guest stars and character actors!

BTW, thanks Tara, but that sounds like work!

Good morning all!! Got to sleep in a little today since I got very little sleep the night before. Kind of nice to do!

Suzanne, have fun today! It really does sound like your job is a pretty awesome one! Lots of variety in it :) Glad you found the knock off too... I almost never buy the real thing myself when it comes to meds.

Eh, I think you need to just do a quick little getaway in Oct. Who cares about when you went last! It could be a nice little scope out and you could do the Halloween party with a few of us ;)

Congratulations Sherry!!! That one looked so cute!

Not sure what I am up to today... since I did a lot of weeding, I feel it in my back. I might go to Home Depot and pick up paint samples for Luis. I also need to check to see if I can reach a part in the bathroom on my own to paint. If so, I'll bring home what I think might be a good color, and if Luis hates it... tough! ;)

Ehh, what's a few weeks between friends?! You really NEED a good healthy dose of YaYa togetherness, ya know. If it helps any, Dave and I did the Halloween and Christmas trips just 6 weeks apart in 2004 and it was GREAT!! We had an absolute blast both trips!

WTG, Sherry!!! I've heard it's a great show!

Wonder Woman?! Guest stars and character actors? Yeah, riiiiight!! You just like seeing Linda Carter spilling out of her superhero costume!!

LOL, Tara!! Isn't it crazy, the things we find to get all excited over?!! sounds like a neat little tool. And I LOVE that countertop! We had very close to the same thing in our last apartment--only it was just shades of grey and black.

Lainey was out slaying weeds yesterday? OUCH!!! Take it easy today--I vote for a reclined position on the couch watching DVDs and eating ice cream!

Good luck with your presentation today, Suzanne! What a great opportunity you can offer those kids!!

OMG, John!! What a scary thing to happen to Sue! You can bet I'd never even LOOK at a mango again if that happened to me!! So glad she's all right and it wasnt' any worse!!

Off to the races, here! Ya'll have a lovely day!! Mad, mad love all around and :grouphug:

Unfortunately, she doesn't spill out nearly as much as I had thought. It's quite tame by today's standards. :teeth:

However, there is no denying that she is a beautiful woman who is still a stunning lady. I did enjoy seeing her (as a villian) in Law and Order last year too.
