Morning all... tired, head okay but not great, and have to get ready for church :p

Karen, air is up this year too, and I presume due to gas price increase. Instead of $200-250 for air, it starts at $300 and goes up for us. Not fun. No booking for us quite yet though... waiting to see if SW prices bring down other air.

Oh and no Dec WDW this year... I needed a total change. No real good friends were going this year (save Tara, and our dates at that point barely overlapped... I was arriving the day before she left) and I feel blah about it, so moved to Oct. Have fun planning though!

Have fun at the mall with Kathy, Nancy! Ya wearin' your red hats??!! So what kind of tile did you settle on?

Whoo-hoo, ya raked it in on that yard sale, didn't ya, Tara?!! I'm in total agreements on the wood--the golden oak sounds beautiful. Darker shade of what for the walls?

How's the head this morning, Elaine? I've been waking up with headaches the last few days and realized it's cuz I've been forgetting my evening allergy med. Hope you're feeling better. Glad to hear the rain let up for ya, too. It certainly has been soggy for the last couple of weeks, hasn't it?!

I forgot to say, Welcome Home, Jellybean!! Hoping to get time to read your trip report later tonight. I trust you had a good trip and a great time with the Mouse, even if you were without any of your Ya Ya sistahs. I think you need to plan another trip around Halloween time when several of us will be there!!

Gotta finiah getting ready for church now. Have a beautiful day, everyone! :grouphug:

Morning!

Never got on the computer yesterday, everyone was hogging it. :rolleyes1

Bummed about the Cavs game. :( I soo hope we win today!! :bounce:

Lily, have a wonderful trip!

Karen, welcome back!!

Gotta hit the shower and start getting ready for church!

Haven't totally decided on tile yet, Beth....but we are going with 12x12" ones in a stone type.
Yep...red hats at mall.....but first our Minnie antenna headbands at lunch (our thinking caps :rotfl: ).

Glad you all had fun outside yesterday.

Congrats, Tara, on the great garage sale turn out.
We are no paint-on-wood people too. Dave is a woodworker and loves the wood, so much, we just go with great looking wood to start with.

Got to get ready to go

Morning all. About to venture out for bagels. Neil had asked for blueberries from the farm stand, which I promised to use in pancakes. Alas, no eggs for the pancakes.

Busy, busy day at work yesterday, but that made the day go fast. I had someone get really nasty with me (a first) and I let them get the last word. By the end of the night, they'd realized that I was right and they were stupid and they became really nice to me, lol! :teeth:

Back later.

Suzanne

Hey gang,

back from my shower. It was very nice, but not overly done. It was a mommy shower so Susan, Astrid, and I gave her scrap booking stuff so she can work on the book for her new son.

We are painting one wall a dark mango...its like a really dark orange and then the rest of the walls we are doing in a lighter peachy/orange...it doesn't sound good but we think the colors look good together...hopefully it will look good!

The floor we are putting down looks like shale rock and has hints of peach/orange in it. Its abolutely perfect wth the paint. Astrid and Susan are coming over sometime to help me move my stove and level the floor behind the stove (nothing like baking a cake that all runs to the back!!). Then I will rip up the floor and put the new one down. I was going to do it in sections but after reading how you have to prime the floor first and then stick the stuff down so it won't work to do it in little bits.

welcome back Karen!! My trip is nov. 23 to dec 3...well, hopefully it will happen!!

gotta run some errands, i'll be back later!!

tara

Afternoon all... really haven't done much since lunch. We actually had a good group of people at lunch today, and somehow I enjoyed that more than usual. Luis is off at a practice and not sure when I'll see him again.

Bethie, sorry to hear that you had such troubles with headaches lately. Unfortunately for me, I know it hasn't been allergies. Too much rain and I've been good about taking my pills. I really think the cold had more to do with it than anything else. It's more of sinus pressure than anything else. Just hurts a lot!

Sherry, my fingers are crossed for the game tonight! I won't be able to watch, but I really am hoping for the best. As for the computer, next time just boot them in the rear to get them off :p

Nancy, I hope you had a fun time out today! No paint on wood... well crap, you'd probably hate what I want to do to my dining set. I'm not normally paint on wood person, myself, but I saw someone's table that has black legs, and it is awesome looking. Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.
Of course I've also painted my porch swing, but that was already white :rolleyes1

Actually, in our family room it is all wood. Really nice deep cherry stained paneling and the flooring is beautiful. Built ins and everything. People have asked if I would ever take it down or cover it up and I look at them like they have two heads :teeth:

LOL, Suzanne, isn't it great when that kind fo thing happens with people :teeth: I hope you get some down time!

Glad you enjoyed the shower, Tara! The coloring actually sounds great to me. We have a lot of peachy earth tones in our kitchen and I think I found a "Fresh Praline" that I like and "Lightening Laughter" for the contrasting color. We do have a built in (not sure what it is made out of though) that is painted ivory in the kitchen on ivory walls, and I want that changed to the peachy walls with the shade of ivory for the built in and maybe the molding. That one is going to be fun though, because I have to move both the fridge and the stove. Thanks for the reminder, I noticed mine was a bit unleveled so I need to see if the feet are adjustable and change that.

Another fairly good day out today. It was rainy this morning, but cleared up not too much later. I'm hoping for more tomorrow since it will be warmer... I can finally weed!!!!!

 Just lost my post....boards are being slow. I need to go get dinner ready.

Abreviated versin....had a fun day. Dining is planned. :teeth:

Depends on the wood, Elaine ;) Some woods need to be painted ;)

hi gang,

I would really like to do a big ketchup but my monthly migraine has made an appearance and I feel like crap. So I'm going to bed. I'll check back in tomorrow from school!!

have a good night gang!!

tara

Nancy, sorry you lost your post! I really hate when that happens. Boards were awful this afternoon for me as well *sigh*

good point about the wood... crappy wood needs it. I think I'll still eventually paint our set and see how it turns out. Though this week, I know we are going to try to make a scratching post for kitties. That should be fun!

Tara, I hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm off myself... tired and the headache is back. I'm now beginning to wonder if I need my eyes rechecked. Or I'm going to put in old contacts to see if my vision has changed. Right eye in particular.

What kind of wood are you painting, Elaine.
Good luck with the kitty post....mine won't use them. They prefer the doorway trims

Sorry you are feeling bad, Tara....and Elaine too :(
Moving furniture has made my back hurt and tummy too :(
More big stuff tomorrow. The love seat did not cooperate, so the couch will be worse :(

Good morning all! Little save from page three.

Just in case everyone didn't notice, Elaines next post will be her 40,000. She sure has a lot to say ;)

When is everyone going in October? I've been debating if I should squeeze in a fall trip this year (because I don't go to Disney enough). If I do, I'll probably stay at Pop (blech), but at least I'll be there.

Even the Jellyrolls piano players were commenting they thought I'd be back down there again before December. Now that was bad.

JellyrollsKaren

Good morning!! :sunny: and beautiful, this morning high forecasted to be 71º. too bad I hafto work and can only look at it. sigh.....oh well, at least the front of the store is all windows, so I have a good view!!

OMG, Nancy, you guys wear those Minnie antenna headbands out in public??!!!! Public that's not Disney??!!! That is sooooo cool!!! Glad to hear ya had a good time. I love the look of stone, too. Whatever you finally decide on, I'm sure it will be gorgeous.

An' Tiara's gonna have a peachy kitchen?! It really does sound pretty and I love the effect you get with one darker wall. Sorry about the migraine. Hope you are feeling so much better today.

All this remodeling and painting talk--wish we could at least paint here.....it would be so much fun! Oh well, at least I've got my drapes from All-Star Movies in the living room along with my lamp from the Contemporary. Haven't hung the shower curtain from Dixie Landings yet, or the Haunted Mansion stretching picture tapestries. But we have plans!!

Hey, Karen!! Definitely--WDW in October! Nancy, Lily, Elaine and me will all be there at varying times, but we should be able to cross paths at least once! Dave and I are scheduled for 10/29 thru 11/2.

Ooops, just remembered I need to hit the bank for some rolled coin on the way to work!! Gotta jet! Have a great day, all!! Mad, mad love and :grouphug:

Morning all!

Had a nice day yesterday. Went over to the inlaws so Ed could install a video card. Then we went to WDW to meet up with the friends from NY. It was nice, we took the launch from WL over to FW and ate at Trail's End-they didn't even know it was there (Ed and I have been quite a few times-then I went with Nancy, Dave and Lainey this past spring). It was good to catch up-and tease them that the next trip will be in a minivan!

I need to make a chart for all the trips down here-October is so nice for Food and Wine, IMO. My goal is APs by then, so I can meet up with everyone.

Nancy, cool that dining is planned. Always lots of fun to figure out.

Lainey, I'm usually a plain wood person, but we're painting trim for Kev's room-have that on the agenda next weekend. Tricky part is going to be to match the color to the armoire from the poly. It's sort of a cheat too because of this blasted popcorn ceiling!

JRKaren, I agree with Scotty and Ray, you'll be in serious withdrawal if you wait until December!

Bethie, don't forget the allergy meds, girl. May's usually the worst around those parts.

pssst, a coworker gave me some excedrin migraine the other day and it worked like a charm. Good thing, since I found out Imitrex is going OTC and I think that means my injectibles are going away. :sad2:

It looks like it might actually rain here. I know everyone else is sick of rain, but we're dying for some. We'll mow the lawn this week for the first time in ages-we normally should be mowing again in February.

Suzanne

Good morning all... pokey boards for me here.

Nancy, the wood we are painting is just the legs on a table we currently have. Honestly, the table was a "cheap find" at Garden Ridge. It's a lighter wood, which doesn't work in our dining room really, so I'd have to re-stain those and the chairs. Or just re-stain the top and paint the chairs black. Haven't decided yet, but I wanted to paint the legs at least to see if I liked it or not. So painting cheap, but sturdy, wood :teeth:

LOL, Karen, it sure is easy to keep going back, isn't it? My dates for this Oct are Oct 29-Nov 5. I know they had some availability in the Boardwalk that time when I called ;)

Bethie, I hope you can do more than just enjoy looking at the good weather. It's sunny here but cold. We had frost advisories last night. I'm hoping for warmer weather because I really don't want to turn my heat on. The cats are being awfully snugly though

Suzanne, glad you had a good time with your friends. I really like that Trail's End Buffet as well! I just hope that you got a slightly better server than the one we had. He was a bit slooooooooooooooow ;) I was thinking of taking Luis there in Oct myself.

I should get laundry started today. I don't have a lot to do since I put off last week's until Eileen left. Then if it warms up enough, I'll consider working in the yard some.

Since Karen noticed before I did... I guess this one brings me to a nice even number post ;)

Okay, I haven't read any of the posts from the weekend yet, but I just popped in because I noticed how chatty someone has been

Congrats, Lainey! :bounce:

She just keeps going and going.... :)

Morning....good
Dave's home sick, which means I will probably get it :(

Laundry, housework, errands and furniture moving all on the list for today. :(
It is going to be the week from you know where :(

Yep...Beth, we do wear the headbands in public....and our Disney planning shirts. No one actually cares or comments on it. The red hats bring on more conversation.
Lily and Tika went to lunch also. Lily gave Tika a tiara and wand for the trip :)
They made their own plans ;)

No nephew today so I have a nice quiet morning to myself. :) Too bad I have to go out and cut the grass. :teeth:

Bummed about the Cavs loss, but we had an awesome season. :bounce:

Good morning all,

Feel a little better but tired!

Suzanne...if you read the exceddrin migraine box and the regular excedrin they have exactly the same thing in it. But the migraine costs more! I compared them one time to find out the difference and I couldnt' see a bit of difference between the two.

Elaine...congrats on being so mothy! So does this make you the queen yaya of mothiness?? What you want to do to your table sounds like it would be fine.

Beth...did ya make it to the bank today? I found the cutest baby pages and embellishments at Wally World. I think they are called Daisy Hill. I went ahead and bought them so when I finish this trip book I can do the baby books!! I need to get going on those so they can be done before the kids hit 50!!

Nancy...sorry that Dave is feeling unwell today. I hope he doesn't share with you!!! Good luck on getting the furniture moved!

Alan...

Lily..hope you are having fun in Cancun!! Sounds like a great place to go!!

Paula...sorry that Alyssa and her man are having difficulties. Enjoy her this summer!!

Kimmar...it my turn to do middle school testing!! I have to read tests for 5 days! I read and the interpreter signs and the kid answers and marks. It will be a blast

Kimmie...how's the driving going??

Karen...wah!! I wanna go when everyone is going! oh well, maybe next year!

Pam... how's it going?

I know I'm missing people so I apologize. I think my tramadol is kicking in!! woohoo!!

oh, last night I had to return a dowl rod to Lowe's and get a different size (have to fix one of the rods in a lego holder thingy! But on the way out I stopped by to check out the palm sands for sanding the cabinet doors and I found the cutest little sander with the point on it for getting into hard to reach areas...I have a regular palm sander but I need something to get into cracks. Well this one not only gets into pointy cracks but it has 3 additional things to get into other strange shaped places. And get this its called The Mouse!! :rotfl2: You know I couldn't resist it!! So i bought it!!

AFter I got it last night I decided that I'm going to try taking the base boards off and sanding them down and then refiniishing those so I don't have to buy all new boards. This will not only save me money but will save me having to try and miter the edges and do all of that work!! The money I will save will go towards the new counter top that we want. That's going to be a lot of money (around $300). Looks like I might have to sell a kid to get enough for the countertop!! :lmao:

gotta run and torment children. back later!!

tara
