First time in years we haven’t been at Christmas.
I'll also be at BCV most of that week. I just realized that since the Skyliner will be shut down for maintenance that week, the advantage for us will be many fewer people entering Epcot through the IG.

Taking my 10 year old twin niece and nephew for their first trip! My sister has zero interest in going so my Mom (aka 'Grammie') will be coming too! Staying at Pop Century Jan19-30th! So excited to share my favorite place with these kiddos!

Hey y'all!

Is there anyone who has posted here about a January stay who I've not added to the first post Roll Call?

I try to keep track, but I want to be sure I'm not missing anyone.

I feel like I can and should add myself here... I have flip flopped my dates (actual reservations, and also in my brain as I've second guessed myself) a million times... but I *think* I'm locked in... and settled... probably... 🤣

January 29 to February 3!!!

I guess I get to post in two countdown threads so that's really fun too!
And so far, this is a vortex blender of a trip, but that's OK!
Jan 29th - Solo at POR.
Jan 30th - Move to Coronado - Gran Destino. My friends arrive too!
Jan 31st - My son arrives, so back to the airport to pick him up.
Feb 1st - We're all together
Feb 2nd - My friends depart, my son and I hit HS and Star Wars big time!
Feb 3rd - Son and I hit Disney Springs and shop until our late flight home.

Hope I can keep all that straight!

Sounds like fun! I'll happily add you to our list...

I was surprised when I did the math and saw I could make reservations starting this Tuesday! In my defense, we have a two month old, we started potty training our toddler, and we bought a house two states away to be closer to family, but we’re all very much looking forward to this trip. We’re thinking storybook dining at artist’s point for our arrival night, Tony’s Town Square for MK lunch, Garden Grill for Epcot lunch, Roundup Rodeo for DHS lunch, and a night at Citricos for mom and dad while the kids are with grandma. Does anyone know if the new pirate bar at MK is open during deluxe extended evening hours?

Those sound like very exciting things in your life going on! Good for you.

Let us know how your reservations go.

To anyone who has traveled at this time of year before - thoughts on the difficulty of getting a specific dining reservation.

When we went last February, early in the month, we booked nothing in advance. It was intentionally a very non-structured trip with just the 2 of us. We ended up eating pretty much anywhere we wanted, which included our favorites Tutto Italia, Trattoria al Forno, and Cape May Cafe. Last trip, and this trip, are both during the Festival of the Arts, and we loved eating food there, and hope to do so again. Also, we don't consider the food the biggest draw to WDW. With a few exceptions, we're easily pleased with just about wherever we dine.

However, this trip, we are a total of 8 - including a toddler and a pre-schooler, so I know that most things will be more complicated. I'm still leaning towards no real set-in-stone must-do reserved dinners, except for one meal.

My 4-year-old granddaughter wants to dine with some princesses, so we're going to do Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for breakfast. I understand that breakfast there is more popular than lunch or dinner, so I'm curious if anyone has any first-hand knowledge of booking there. I'm hoping that if I get on it at exactly the 60-day mark, I'll be ok.

Anyone have any words of wisdom, or words of encouragement, or words of discouragement? Any words at all. LOL

Not really specific to your time of year, but have experience with a party of 8, which is tricky because most restaurants will have very little options (no matter time of year) for a party that size. If you nothing comes up, try looking for tables or 4. Often it works out better to book two separate reservations for 4 people and let them know at check in you’re a group or 8. They can’t guarantee putting you together, but a lot of time it works out. We did this for multiple reservations last December it thankfully it worked out for us.
