G'morning, all. Oh......sorry......it's afternoon, already. Inventory went pretty well, not the disaster I half expected. Counting started around 4 in the afternoon and was done about 12:30. Then we got the lists of "Items Not Found". Sigh......that's the part that drags out the night---looking for the different items and correcting the inventory count. Funny thing, there were LOTS of papers on that darn list, with a count of 25, that show up on the corporate inventory list, but were not counted in the store. Since paper is shipped to us in packs of 25, we believe it's stuff that was allocated to us, but we never got. Pet peeve of mine is that we don't ever get an itemized packing list to check off when shipment comes in. All we get is a count of how many boxes. No way to check that what corporate added to our inventory in the computer was actually shipped to us and received. I think this is why we have to do inventory every 6 months--to adjust THEIR numbers to actual. Seems like a horrendous waste of time and money, when simply listing what actually goes out of the distribution center and then checking in what is actually received would solve a lot of problems!
So, enough already.........glad to hear of the good stuff happenin' with your weekends!
Laine, thanks for reminding me that I didn't finish the laundry yesterday!................OK, got a load started, so now I don't feel guilty about playing on the DIS. Glad the birthday celebration went well and your dad enjoyed his gift. Also good to hear the memorial service brought out the good memories, too.
Paula, that is so cool about running into your old BF!! Not often that we run into decisions we made in the past and get verification that we made the right choice. Sorry to hear about Alyssa's infection, though! Poor girl is probably terribly self-conscious about it too, especially now that we are in the middle of summer--the skin-baring season!
Tara, I used to belong to a church who did VBS at night, too! I never understood that, since to me, VBS was for the kids. But they wanted adults to be able to participate too, which is why they held it in the evenings. Hope Jar has a better experience tonight. Sorry about all the sanding and re-sanding you have to do. Can't help ya on the yellowing primer--I've painted, but never used primer before. Now will ya cut it out with the injuries??!!
And a birthday visit to Sea World!! Great choice!! Hope a good time was had by all, Suzanne. Did the birthday boy get a kiss from Shamu?! That was always my favorite part of the show. That, and getting to pet the dolphins. One of these years I'm gonna spring for swimming with 'em, like Kristy did.
So, kimmar, have you managed to quit drooling yet after seeing the pirate movie? We still haven't made it over to the theater, so I'm enjoying hearing what each of you thinks of it. Oh, and btw, I ran into a sale on TP at the grocery store--shall I pick up a case or 2 for ya while Judie's on vaca?
Sorry your bowling score wasn't as high as the fun factor, Sherry. But great that ya'll had fun doing it! Your quickbread sounds as good as my muffins did last week! I think I'm going to have to hit the baking row at the grocery store again.
Better hit the shower before Dave gets home from work. Time to change the laundry loads, anyway. Ya'll have a great rest of your day and I'll try and drop in again later. Lots of

and
