...I heard from Judie - they were at the San Fran Giants game...she said the weather was gorgeous [it poured catz'n'dogz HERE....]...I will be hearing from her again when they drive down to Anaheim to DL....

I am guessing I probably shouldn't be here since I keep getting the blasted server busy message

Did a lot of work out in the yard and have the last load of laundry in the dryer right now. As soon as that is done, I plan to get dressed and run a bunch of errands.

Tara, at first I didn't realize it was an evening VBS... I was thinking that had to be a loooooong day for any kid!!! :rotfl:
I've heard a joke that some use VBS as a good daycare for their kids in the summer. Probably why I thought it was odd to have it in the evening. Oh well.
Take care of your pretty foot though :p

Paula, that is really awesome that you got to see your ex. Must have really felt good to see that your break up was actually a great thing for the both of you! Not many can say that! I do hope that Alyssa feels better soon! How yuck for her to have that kind of an infection!

Oh the birthday gift... it was a DVD player. We hooked it up last night and he was able to watch a movie. said it was far better than the other DVD player he had before :goodvibes:

Kimmar, glad to hear that your sister is having a good time and enjoying good weather! I hope they have a blast at DL!!!

G'morning, all. Oh......sorry......it's afternoon, already. Inventory went pretty well, not the disaster I half expected. Counting started around 4 in the afternoon and was done about 12:30. Then we got the lists of "Items Not Found". Sigh......that's the part that drags out the night---looking for the different items and correcting the inventory count. Funny thing, there were LOTS of papers on that darn list, with a count of 25, that show up on the corporate inventory list, but were not counted in the store. Since paper is shipped to us in packs of 25, we believe it's stuff that was allocated to us, but we never got. Pet peeve of mine is that we don't ever get an itemized packing list to check off when shipment comes in. All we get is a count of how many boxes. No way to check that what corporate added to our inventory in the computer was actually shipped to us and received. I think this is why we have to do inventory every 6 months--to adjust THEIR numbers to actual. Seems like a horrendous waste of time and money, when simply listing what actually goes out of the distribution center and then checking in what is actually received would solve a lot of problems!

So, enough already.........glad to hear of the good stuff happenin' with your weekends!

Laine, thanks for reminding me that I didn't finish the laundry yesterday!................OK, got a load started, so now I don't feel guilty about playing on the DIS. Glad the birthday celebration went well and your dad enjoyed his gift. Also good to hear the memorial service brought out the good memories, too.

Paula, that is so cool about running into your old BF!! Not often that we run into decisions we made in the past and get verification that we made the right choice. Sorry to hear about Alyssa's infection, though! Poor girl is probably terribly self-conscious about it too, especially now that we are in the middle of summer--the skin-baring season!

Tara, I used to belong to a church who did VBS at night, too! I never understood that, since to me, VBS was for the kids. But they wanted adults to be able to participate too, which is why they held it in the evenings. Hope Jar has a better experience tonight. Sorry about all the sanding and re-sanding you have to do. Can't help ya on the yellowing primer--I've painted, but never used primer before. Now will ya cut it out with the injuries??!!

And a birthday visit to Sea World!! Great choice!! Hope a good time was had by all, Suzanne. Did the birthday boy get a kiss from Shamu?! That was always my favorite part of the show. That, and getting to pet the dolphins. One of these years I'm gonna spring for swimming with 'em, like Kristy did.

So, kimmar, have you managed to quit drooling yet after seeing the pirate movie? We still haven't made it over to the theater, so I'm enjoying hearing what each of you thinks of it. Oh, and btw, I ran into a sale on TP at the grocery store--shall I pick up a case or 2 for ya while Judie's on vaca?

Sorry your bowling score wasn't as high as the fun factor, Sherry. But great that ya'll had fun doing it! Your quickbread sounds as good as my muffins did last week! I think I'm going to have to hit the baking row at the grocery store again.

Better hit the shower before Dave gets home from work. Time to change the laundry loads, anyway. Ya'll have a great rest of your day and I'll try and drop in again later. Lots of  and :grouphug:

...I slammed my left foot into the dryer this morning and I think i broke a toe. ouch! It is swollen and hurts like heck...
Oh Tara, Iam so sorry. Ouch. First when I read this through a hasty read,I'm thinking what in the world was she doing putting her foot INTO the dryer, socks should be removed to dry. hope you are done with these injuries now and that Jar has a better day at VBS.

You must be getting quite a workout with all you are dong. No need for gym membership.

I'm praying that SS will keep working on a way to get your Mom on the "non-medical" program too. Keep at it.

Beth, I'm with you not getting why you don't get a packing list to check through when receiveing the order. That does not make sense to receive without knowing what was shipped. Must be their way to cover up stuff. Glad it is over and you can play at work now.

Elaine, that is great that Dad liked the gift. Hope things are back to "normal" and you are feeling energized.

Kimmar, :rotfl: bucket of drool! I should have order the large size too then.

Paula, what a spectacular thing to have happened this weekend. Glad that you were looking fine too!

Kicked DS off my laptop and am taking a quick break. Did the lawn today and have been doing :laundy:

Elaine, glad your dad liked his gift. :) I am pretty sure I'm gonna go see DWP tomorrow. I've heard good things about it.

Paula, cool beans about running into your ex boyfriend. Sorry to hear about Alyssa's infection. :( Oh, and sorry, no more blueberry bread.

Beth, glad inventory is over for you now. Hope you get to see POTC soon.

Tara, hope Jar does better with VBS tonight. My boys always went in the evening, too. I always went in the morning. Sorry about the cabinet probs.

Suzanne, hope you had a blast at Sea World. :)

Bethie, sounds like work was really rough. I've been thinking about you and hoping you got some down time after all that! Oh and sorry that I reminded you to do house work. I got all mine in for the week (laundry that is). Good thing with just the two of us, we have very little of it.

The VBS thing baffles me! I never thought that parents would want to do it... but then again, I've never gone to one myself. My church only recently started offering it.

Good luck to Jarrod tonight though :)

Lily, you made me realize I fogot to say woo hoo for at least part of the SS for Tara's mom.
I am feeling more like life is getting back to normal, but not feeling energized yet. I'm sure having to fight my cat for the pillow at night is NOT helping me.

Sherry, hope you enjoy the movie tomorrow! I really do think they did a great job on it! It's funny, I went in there disliking the book, but liking the movie. That *rarely* ever happens for me!

LOL, Kimmar, do you carry around a drool rag? ;)

I have knitting tonight so I better get ready for that.

I won't be in much tomorrow, because I will be meeting up with an Angel friend for lunch... and then Graeter's :teeth:

Oh yeah! :teeth: Enjoy for sure!

I didn't take time to mention my fabulous day yesterday. (Sunday) We went to the wedding of our neighbor's daughter. It was the most lovely event for many reasons. These young people waited for the "right" person and time and actually found that! They both are orthodox upbringing, one family brought up Russian Orthodox, the other family brought up Greek Orthodox. The marriage ceremony was concelebrated by priests from each and it was beautiful. It was such a special treat to be witness to this event. And the after-party was a fun celebration with part "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and part of the traditional way we celebrate weddings in our region. All I can say is whoa! It was such a joy.

Elaine, thanks, I am sure I will like the movie. :) Have a good lunch and enjoy the ice cream. :)

Lily, sounds like a great wedding. Glad you enjoyed it.

Kimmar, :lmao:

OK, my mom is taking the boys to Cedar Point (this is a yearly tradition now) tomorrow (which is why I am treating myself to a movie ;) ), but I am a nervous wreck. Julian has decided he wants to ride some of the big coasters, and the older boys want to ride a few of them, too. I don't know why, but I am totally freaking out over this. :( :( I think its just the whole, I'm not there to make sure they are buckled tight, etc. etc. that has me freaked. Please tell me I am not crazy, because I sure do feel like it. :(

Sherry, you aren't nuts. I can't remember how old Julian is now, but try to relax. My friends and I would always go in middle school with the band/orchestra to CP or KI w/o my parents. We more or less had free run of the park and nothing ever happened. I'm sure he'll be fine (but, you aren't nuts for worrying that's for sure!!!!)

LOL, Kimmar!!!! How many of those do you have? I imagine you'd need quite a few a day :p

But... who did you drool over more in the move? :confused3

Lily, that sounds like an awesome time!!!! Bet that was a wedding to remember ::yes::

...hence, the INDUSTRIAL SIZED popcorn bucket..... popcorn::

** POTC2 SPOILER ALERT**!!

How 'bout when she KISSED JS?!?!?!?!?! OMG!! :faint:

Hi, Honeys, I'm home.

We had changed the plans while running to get Neil's scrip yesterday and decided to do Sea World today. This way, Ed wouldn't be worrying about getting home and getting enough sleep.

Fun was had by all. There are only three things we have yet to do in the park, four if you count seeing the Believe show. We had some funnies and a major milestone-Neil waited in line for a ride for 25 minutes (!!)-by himself (!!!). I'm thinking the new meds are working.

The funniest thing was the downpour. Well, that itself wasn't funny, as we were walking around the Hospitality House with trays of food and no one would give us a table. BUT, we joke about the 'attack of the poncho people' every time it rains. Today, Neil points and said "watch out, the dementors are coming" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Okay, we'll be calling anyone in ponchos dementors from now on!

Lainey, glad the service celebrated your friend's dad's life. Coolness, getting your dad a DVD player!

Kimmar, I've got a huge costco pack of TP here :teeth: . It's even scott tissue, a 1,000 sheets to last longer-and cover more trees.

Tara, how did VBS go today?

Bethie, I'm with you on detailed manifests-fortunately, I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore!   Did ya have fun tonight? ;)

Paula, it must have been nice to walk away with such a pleasant experience. Score for looking purty, too!

Sherry, I understand your nervousness-heck, I was there with my kid in sight and wasn't sure about it! (and there's no way this kid would have the independence I had at his age!)

Lily, that sounds like such a nice wedding!

Kev's b'day was the 20th, but we celebrated a little late because I had to work. We'll be doing that with mine, too.

Some leftover Carvel cake is calling me...

Besides, :confused3 you're TOO LATE......

Thanks for the reassurance. :) I don't know why I am so freaked. I just am. I always worry when they are gone without me, I guess that will never go away. :rolleyes1

Elaine, Julian is 10. The thought of him on rollercoasters freaks me out. :faint: It would be easier for me, I think, if I (or Junior) were next to him. I used to go to the parks alone (either with band or friends) alot, too. Wonder if my mom freaked out about me? :lmao:

Kimmar, you are baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!! :lmao:

Gonna go try and get some zzzzz's. Gotta get up early and get the boys some breakfast before they leave.

Okay...I am going to go insane. (I hope I don't offend anyone here)...The girl next to me is typing with her finger nails. I can't stand it. It is driving me insane. Doesn't she know how loud she sounds. Fortunate for me she only sits there 2 days a week, there is another lady there the other 3 days (she is very quiet).

Our VBS is in the evening. Growing up I went to my church and another church's, until the other church insisted we were dresses. Not me, my church even allowed me to show up in a bathing suit. My girls went to our church's as well as my brother's church, different themes so they enjoyed both.

Sherry...the boys will have fun. Relax and know they are in God's hands.

Lily...I once went to a wedding where the groom was Indian and the wife was American...such a fun wedding. The reception had both types of food as well as a pinata for the kids.

Gotta get back to work. Training 2 new hires today.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.

Amanda, good luck getting through the day with that noise. That doesn't bother me-mouth noises when eating, though...

Have a great day, everyone. I'm off to set my tables up, the only early day I've got this week, thanks to Ed being off. :)

Suzanne

Caught up on some of my sleep, but still in a bit of a rush this morning.

Sherry, you are not crazy--ya NEVER stop worrying! But it DOES get a little bit easier, I promise. Amanda has it right, the kids are in God's hands and He will take care of them.

Suzanne, we had an absolute blast last night!! I'd ordered 12 entrees and my friend ended up splitting all but 2 with me!!! She was amazed and thrilled that we prepared so much in less than 2 hours. Best part was when she HAD to taste the topping for the Peach French Toast--and then wanted to lick the bowl!! We think we're gonna go back and do August in a couple of weeks--the Berry Breakfst Cobbler is calling me. I earned my Super Chef code too!!

Lily, what a wonderful celebration that must have been! So glad to hear the wedding was such a joy and success!

Amanda, we have a woman at the store with nails like that too. And we have touch-screen registers so it's always tick-tick-tack-tap! AARRGGGHHHH!!! You have my sympathies today.

kimmar-- :thumbsup2 nice job with the TP, but couldn't you have thrown a little color in there?

Gotta jet........ya'll have a great day and I promise to check in tonight. :grouphug:

Morning all!!

The boys left about 10 minutes ago. I know they will have a great time. I'm a bit relieved, cuz Julian said he'll wait to ride the big coasters with me and Junior. :) (He is a bit of a scaredy cat anyway, and would've probably passed on them anyway, but I still was worried!)

Amanda, my nails (acrylics) make all kinds of noises on my laptop keyboard. I would drive you crazy. :teeth: It drives me crazy sometimes. :rolleyes1
