WDW Contest Winners...

We didn't win a WDW trip, but my mom and I worked together to win a 7 day cruise once in 2001. We went on the 7 day Magic cruise in February, and my seat got picked out to play Who Wants to be a Mousekateer? I was under 18 at the time (14) and so I got to bring an adult up wit me. My mom was extremely nervous, but knew she had to come up since she is the disney expert. After 9 questions and three lifelines, we reached the final question, a correct answer to which netted a free return 7 day cruise for 2.
The question popped up (What's the name of the boat stranded at the top of typhoon lagoon?) and my mom knew it right away b/c while my dad and i play, she goes to the mixed drink stand and watches the boat shoot out water. We were celebrities on the boat the rest of the week, it was great! And then we enjoyed another cruise in October (we payed for a third person so my dad could come too :teeth: ) and we had a great time again!

My son won a contest through the National Christmas Tree Association a year and a half ago. It was a trip worth 5000.00. We (2 ad, 2 ch) stayed at the AKL for 8 nites, did 6 day tickets to WDW, tickets to Sea World, Discovery Cove, had the dining plan, ended up with about 300 dollars in disney money and about 200 dollars in gas cards for the drive down. It was wonderful and a wonderful experience for my kids. We are now paying on a trip for them this christmas!!!! I am definately hooked....

We did! It was actually back for the 100 Years of Magic- you could enter to win a trip for 8 (eight!!!) for 7 days/ six nights including airfare, transfers, passes, $500 disney dollars and a stay at the Grand Floridian. You were able to enter at Boscovs' (a local department store), and the winner was to be announced on Thanksgiving morning 2001 during our Philadelphia Thanksgiving day parade broadcast on ABC.

Well, imagine this.... Thanksgiving morning 2001. My mom, now DH, and I are sitting in my parents living room watching the thanksgiving day parade. My dad happened to be upstairs in the shower at the time. Katie Harman (Miss America 2002) and Mickey Mouse appear on the screen right before one of the commercial breaks and she announces that she is going to draw the Grand Prize winner of the contest. Well, she reaches her hand into the box of what looks like a million little white pieces of folded paper, slowly unfolds it, and reads MY MOM'S NAME :hyper: ! Mickey, Goofy and Katie Harman are all cheering, confetti is falling, and "when you wish upon a star" is playing. Well, now picture this- my cup of coffee went flying, and I turned into a screaming, tearful, sobbing, heap on the floor. My mom is screaming her lungs out, running around the living room like we just won a few million dollars. My dad (who was in the shower) is now running down the stairs half naked and soapy with a towel around him because he thought someone just died. I turn around and see DH just sitting on the couch wide-eyed and completely speechless. What a Thanksgiving to remember!!!! And we had a great trip in May of 2002 to boot!~
That's a great story!! Yeah, who could forget a Thanksgiving like that!!! :sunny:

Not WDW but I won a 7 day trip to DL on Regis & Kelly!!!

Airfare

Wow, what a great story!

I remember when I won a trip to Euro Disney at work many years back -- i was running around the building yelling and screaming and my co-workers thought I had lost it -- until they found out the whole story.
