Hi all,

Contemplating a stay in November at Sarasota in a standard section 2 bedroom villa and wanted to get everyone’s opinion on what area they feel is the best area considered standard (not preferred) there? Any particular section and/or building? I will have my car if that plays in to your recommendation.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

With SSR, the recommendations generally are based on what your plans are going to be. Do you want/need access to pools, resort amenities, etc? Do you want access to Disney Springs for food/entertainment? Will you mostly just be in parks all the time and the resort is just the place to sleep?

For Standard section - I personally prioritize access to Disney Springs, don't use pools, and only occasionally need a visit to stores or resort food courts, so my #1 choice is Paddock with a specific request for the end building with rooms 65**-68**. I love that building if I'm in Standard because it's directly across the street from Congress Park bus stop, and the walkway into Disney Springs. It's almost like staying in Congress Park which is preferred.

For mostly going to parks, and wanting close access to the main buildings, I'd pick Grandstand, specifically the buildings with rooms 85** to 88**, or 81** to 84**. You've got the first bus stop to and from the parks which is nice, and the main building's stores and restaurants are a short walk away.

If you were more wanting access to pools and resort amenities, many people like Paddock for the Paddock Pool area (which has been closed, but should be reopening soon). The building I like in Paddock is probably the one they would like least as it's farther from the pool.

We always request the Grandstand. Quick walk to the Carriage House, still walkable to Disney Springs or you can grab the boat, first bus stop for the parks.
