Watch Out People !! ~ BEWARE ~ Slim Mojito Monkey Partying People In Progress !!

What a great thread. I wish I was going to Disney this Sept so I could join in. I started The Best Life "Diet" on January 21 I have lost 25lbs with about 15lbs more to go. It has been a long road with a lot of hard work. I have slipped up, went out of town twice and was not on my best behavior at the dinner table. But I have been trying to eat healthy and work out 4-6 times a week for an hour. I have three kids doing lots of activities, I work part time and my husband is a firefighter and works 24 hour shifts. It has been hard to pull myself away from the family to exercise, but I know in the long run I will live longer and better. BOTH of my sisters are very sick one has MS and the other cancer stage 3b. My sister with MS, lost 60 lbs about 6 years ago and has kept it off. Her doctor told her that her being fit has really helped her. I just want to tell all of you good luck and keep up the good work!!!!!

Thank you for stopping by to say hi. Feel free to stop by whenever you want. :) Awesome job on the weightloss, that must feel so great! It is such a hard thing to do to really focus on health & losing weight, but I know that in the end it'll be so worth it. I read something the other day where someone said that weight loss & exercise is one thing that we have full control over, which is totally true.

My grandmother had MS and both of my parents are diabetic & I have vowed to learn to eat healthy to improve my health. My grandmother died at 59 and my dad is 50 and is in really bad health. I don't want to be in that same situation because to me 50 is really young. Anyway, I'm totally rambling, but I think that it is awesome that you have worked so hard to lose the weight, exercise & raise 3 kids. Keep it up!!! :)

Hello all.. I had a great weekend but am basically starting allllllll over again..(gained 3 pounds:headache:) I way over did it at my sisters..:guilty: The good news is that I have not lost my will power and am going to work really hard to loose...again:sad2:

I'm glad you haven't lost your will power! Good for you! :cutie:

I'm glad you enjoyed the visit with your sister

I agree with the posts above. I personally wouldnt use a personal trainer due to the huge expense. You can do the same exercises on your own and save a lot of money(spend it at disney instaed). Just try to continue the technics that the trainer has already shown you and try to be consitant with them....we all mess up every once in a while and thats nothing to beat ourselves up about-were only human. If you do mess up on your own just learn from it and jump back on the band wagon asap. My birthday is also mid august (16th) and I hope to loose atleast 20 pounds by then, Im sure if we set our minds to it we can get it done in time:thumbsup2

Good luck regardless of what you decide to do. We are here for you:flower3:

This is what I am leaning towards, too. The trainer switched what we did every week so we never went into a pattern. Possibly so I was exposed to doing different activities and strengthen different muscles, possibly so I couldn't memorize any circuits to do by myself and not need him

I am thinking maybe I will take a break, do this for myself without a trainer and only online support :grouphug: and see what results I get. I can always go back in a month if it isn't working. I'll start adding swimming to my list of things to do soon, too...the pool opens THIS WEEKEND!!!... and EVERY hot day we will be there after school!! UGH...I gotta find a suit that fits :headache:

HEEYYY....my birthday is August 17th! It is sooo cool we have the same weight loss goal for the same day!!!

I'm with Keli - I really blew it this last week. I could just kick myself  I think I gained back the 3 pounds I lost PLUS one more :scared1: This is typically the point where I give up and throw my hands in the air :sad2: I am SO frustrated with myself.

I am drinking my water right now and tonight I WILL work out no matter what - tomorrow is a new day right ?!

I think I am going to plan my meals for the rest of the week right now as we speak !

This time I WILL NOT throw my hands in the air and give up !! :thumbsup2

Well I weighted myself on Friday & was down to 144:goodvibes BUT then I had pizza for dinner & birthday cake, I really need to get to 138 (minimum) by June 8 (We have a wine/food tasting) which is a BIG fat night for me!!

Ok everyone ! I have just went through all of my PM's for the last 2 weeks and I think I am caught up ...finally !!

For our 5/11 weigh in our total weigh loss as a group was

( DrumRoll Please ........)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
21.6 pounds !!

And our weigh in for this last week on 5/18 was

12.8 pounds !!

We didn't have very many people that weighed in this last week. Seems our numbers are dwindling .... hopefully people will regroup and come back to us :lmao: I think we all need each other !

What's our grand total? It has to be near 80ish, right? I mean- that's AWESOME, folks!

I ate badly today, but ya know- I'm not feeling BAD about it. Each time I eat badly, I've managed to pull back and not completely snork down every bite like I used to! (IE we had Red Robin- we ordered onion rings- we didn't eat the whole tower and then my sandwich- I didn't have a single fry and put down about 1/4 of my sandwich- a month or two ago, I would have snorked everything down no matter what!).

So- keep up the good work, gals! We're getting there! No one said it would be easy and we'll slip and slide along the way- but that's okay too!

Thanks mrsladybug for the post! I am so proud of all my DIS friends.....we are all doing such a great job! keep up the good work girls, Theres no better feeling than looking in the mirror and saying WOW, I look good and I worked hard to look this way....NOT That this has happened to me yet BUT IT WILL, I have faith;) I know we ALL can do it!

Hey there everyone! I am STILL HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was about to throw my hands up as well....but I'm with ya...I'm NOT giving up this time....The month of may always throws me for a loop.....my calendar gets SO jammed & there is no way to lighten the load.....so I get frustrated...& what DID I used to do when frustrated....EAT! I didn't do very well this weekend.......my girls are in this big ice show, and I'm one of the volunteer mom's...so it's 5 shows and 72 hours of stress...but instead of buying pretzels w/ cheese and a chocolate long john from the snack shack when I realize it's been 16 hours since I last ate....I brought my own micro popcorn and zapped it in the coaches lounge and ate that....I did try to drink at least half of my water...but I'm so tired, I live on coffee & diet mountain dew during the show...

forgot to weigh in on Friday - convienantly....but did it this morning...& of course the scale didn't budge...so I'm still down only 3 since we started....

but dh just surprised me last night....we've been talking about me getting a new car, well a new used car...a non-soccer/skating mommy car...our youngest will be 8 in October, so no more car/booster seat...he said if I lose 40 pounds before she turns 8 on October 28th...I can buy a convertible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9: :cloud9: He knows how much I want one....knows how easily I throw my hands up when dieting.....knows I don't really "need" a new car...my honda is just fine & only has 60K miles on it...& those dang things run forever.....so we'll see...that's quite a motivator for me......

Have a great week everyone

WOOHOO Chris :car:!! That is a major motivator !! :cheer2:

Thanks Keli - I needed that swift kick in the butt !! Is everyone drinking there water today and plan on getting some form of exercise in ( even if it's putting away the laundry ?) .

I haven't started my water yet but plan on it !!

Hey, ladies! I have been strugling since our last weigh in also. I seem to do this a lot lately. I will feel like I haven't been doing well, then have a loss. So then I get it in my head that I don't have to work as hard or eat good :confused3 Then I eat really bad and don't exercise. Which leads to feeling like crap and gaining :headache: DUH! I know better, but I just haven't learned to do better.

We will all have our slip up days and sometimes weeks, but the important thing is that we don't lose sight of our goal! We CAN do this!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Drink lots of water, eat healthy foods in reasonable portions, and get out there and exercise :yay:

I did get outside and get some walking in today! :cool1: I had a good breakfast and dinner, but I had Zaxby's for lunch which was BAD. If I'm lucky the day will balance itself out.

Hope everyone has a Wonderful day tomorrow!!

I am just so glad this time I am not giving up. I am proud of myself. Usually at the first sign of a gain I give up. This is the second month in a row I have been exercising on a regualr basis as well. So many of us have so much to be proud of !!
