In and Out Burgers:

We have In-N-Out here in Dallas but it just doesn't hit the same like it does when I'm in Southern California. And for those saying it's overrated and only locals like it, there are 43 locations here in Texas now and if you drive by any of them, in a land with Texas originals like Whataburger, they are always packed with long drive-thru lines.

Yeah, I used to go to Dallas a lot for work, and there was one close by the office that I would hit. It was good, but it wasn't quite the same. They also looked at you like you were crazy if you asked for well-done fries. - that's really a SoCal thing. My brother-in-law turned me onto it and he was not wrong!

When I first saw the reference to "light fries" in this thread, I thought it meant less salt. Then I googled it and discovered that the term meant the fries were cooked less. Ugh, limp French fries. No thank you! 🤦‍♀️
It is a vast improvement to the dried out fries than normally serve, to me at least. But as I originally said I am going to see if they can make them between "light" and regular. Hopefully that will be the best of both world? Not too dried out but not as "limp" or soggy.

In WA state: zero!! Even in Seattle area

I love all the in and out haters

You show me any burger place with as good food at its price...I'll be waiting because they do no exist

Sure X burger is better...and your adding on 7-10 bucks more per meal.

I hope you enjoy it for there price, no other burger compares also make sure to ask for extra secret sauce to dip your fries in or add to your burger
Five Guys. We love their burgers and shakes. Fries don’t make the drive home. Even the peanuts are good.
We had In And Out a few years back because they don’t exist in NY and we had to see what the hype was all about. Thought it was okay, but not as good as Five Guys. Just as well, cause that’s what we get out here lol

Five guys is way more $$$ than In & Out. They do have superior fries though.

Ridgefield has one opening up in the near future! It's weird. I tend to only like the ones in Southern California and feel the ones in Oregon were subpar. Might just be nostalgia though because for forever In-N-Out was associated to Disneyland because I only got it when we visited there. My husband swears by the mustard grilled patty. I get a plain cheeseburger with double grilled onions and we both think the fries are soggy/soft if we don't order them well. I like a crispy fry though.

I went to a Five Guys years ago in Dalton, GA on the way down to WDW. They had no locations (or very few) in Michigan at that time and also didn't have the sky-high prices yet. Just as with In-n-Out, even though I had been looking forward to it, I ended up thinking, "That's it?" Unless the quality has improved, I am not sure why people would be so eager to pay their current prices, but obviously a lot of people are.

You can get a Combo for a burger price at five guys....so I could not care the two

You can feed a family of 4 at In and Out for under 25 bucks, thats my point. Nothing thats the cheap is that good tasting at any other fast food restaurant

When you get down to it. In & Out is fast food. It is better in quality than McDonald's or Burger King and on par price wise. Five Guys while on par with In & Out it also costs twice as much. Last time I went I paid $17 for a burger and fries. That's what I pay when I go to a brewery for lunch. I don't want to pay that much for fast food.

Yeah, it's not like In-N-Out is the best burger in the world or anything, but it is quite good, inexpensive, and they have good service too! That combination, along with a well-cultivated image are what make it so beloved.

INO uses higher quality ingredients than Five Guys and has the highest standards in the industry. An example of this was anwhile ago, when they closed a handful of restaurants for a day because the shipment of buns they received didn’t meet corporate’s expectations.

That said, many people prefer Five Guys for its inclusion of unlimited toppings and/ or greasier burgers.

corporate-owned Five Guys are selling a $12.99 combo which include a single patty burger, small dry and drink. You can add a second patty for $1.50. This isn’t much more than INO given its multiple prices increase over the past year.
