I just helped some family members book a trip with free dining - 7 adults, 4 kids.
More specifically split up like this:
2 adults
2 adults, 1 child
1 adult
2 adults, 3 children (1 of these kids is in a room with the solo adult)
All travelling together.

We have DVC, so we’ve never used the dining plan, and I have a few questions that have come up while I’m attempting to give them all a PhD in Disney trip planning🤣

1. This is all first visits for each of them and none of them have MDE yet. Should each family in the group have their own MDE for ease of using dining credits?

2. Or should each adult have their own MDE?

The confusing part is one of the kids is in the room with his aunt instead of his parents and 2 other siblings since they are staying at All Stars, so that kid will be linked to his aunts room but could potentially be split up from her during the day. Just wondering how best to explain this to access his credits.

And one more…can you use your magic band at a quick service to use one of your credits? Or your physical room card?
Just thinking that might be the work around here for that child to access the credits attached to his room if he is off with his family for some meals.

Basically, what can I tell them to make this the easiest for them? I’ve already bombarded them with so much info, but I want to make sure they know how to access and use their credits properly!

Thanks for any advice!

At least one adult in each room should have MDE (but I would recommend all adults).

For the kids, ON THE WEBSITE (and not in the app) one of the parents who creates the kids as managed profiles needs to check off the box under the adults they're planning with:

I can't speak to the DDP credits, I think if the kid in the other room has the charging PIN it might work?
