I just found this link to the official Orange County site for documents. They have added a "view documents" feature that literally let's you see your deed and/or mortgage fulfillment, etc.

I thought it was kind of neat and wanted to share it here.

Deed Look Up

Oh Pam, that is just toooooooo freakin' cool!!!
I have seen the record before, but to actually see our signatures on the document is awesome!
Thanx!...

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. ;) It's neat seeing it on the screen like that. Like seeing an old friend.

On the other hand, it's a bit scary what can be found out there with very little effort.

Wow, I haven't even received the hard copy yet, and I'm seeing it online. Very cool indeed.

Thanks for the link Pam, that's really interesting to see.

It's funny how "public" public records are these days. We have a county assessment website here (Allegheny Co PA) where you can lookup anyone's property by their name and see what they paid for their house, what it is assessed for (taxes), if/when they paid their taxes, a picture, a diagram. In a way it's scary because anyone can track down anyone's address this way.

Debbie, we've got the same thing here. You always could find out that information but it required a trip to the town hall or library.

Thanks Pam,

We were told that we should close around July 9th. Well I just followed your link and it looks like it was recorded on Tuesday the 15th.

That was cool to see our signatures.

I guess that makes it official......

Thanks Pam!!!! My new add-on is listed there, but it says no image available. Must be because it just closed on the 15th.

I was also bowled over by the number of people with the same last name as me who have timeshares in Florida! And believe me, my last name is NOT a common one.

Same here Annie. The names are for Orange County only but they do include all real estate transactions (not just timeshares). I wonder if our "long lost rich relatives" are on those lists? ;)

It was interesting to see that we have two records in the database: one was Disney's decline on ROFR, the other is our deed.

Should I be concerned that my first name is misspelled on the ROFR record? If so, whom do I contact? It's correct on the deed.

Thanks.
Kelley

LOL....we can only hope, eh? :p I was very surprised to see a few people with my first and last name....never run into that before!

Thanks for posting this, Pam. It's pretty neat to see my John Henry on those Mickey lines again! :)

Kelley...I wouldn't worry about the spelling on the ROFR. Disney's ROFR gives them the right to accept the terms of a transaction, not the right to disapprove a buyer. I'm not a lawyer, and maybe someone who knows more about these things will disagree with me...but I wouldn't sweat it.

If it says "no image available" click on the button in the left window that is at the top on the right that says "get image",then click on ".pdf" image in the right window and when it says it may take a minute to generate the pdf image, click on okay. If you want to print it, be sure to click on the printer icon that is closest to the text of the document -- the pdf print icon as opposed to the web printer icon.
pm me if you have any problem, and I will be glad to walk you through it.

I just printed both our recorded deeds and mortgages. Thank you so much, PamOKW for the link!

When I checked mine, I got 2 pages--one was a copy of some Fla bank going after some funds from someone I never heard of, the second page was a copy of someone else's deed. :( What's up with this?!?

Edited: Just tried again. This time my deeds came up.

Of course, I can't find ours:( Any idea why? We've been owners since March 2001:confused:

We own part of building 15 at OKW.. Funny, I have never stayed in that building.. LOL!! Very cool information. Thanks for the link.

TimeForMe - Do you own at one of the DVC resorts in Orange County? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vero Beach and Hilton Head DVC deeds would not be recorded in this online database.

I still wish that they would edit the documents to obscure the signatures. :(
