NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Dude, watching them go back for seconds on the *applesauce* after what we paid was truly infuriating. Having them all age over to "adults" at once was quite the kick in the wallet.

At least I'll always have memories of the year we did the dining plan with three character loving 5 year olds and got about double the value of what we paid. :rotfl2:

At least they went back for seconds of something. I don't do Disney buffets because I will never get my money's worth, I don't eat that much.

I redeemed my free one, I was excited to right off the bat for June get $10 off good and gathers groceries :)
Same here, but the eligible products was extremely limited based on the app. Did you use it yet? Was it any G&G groceries?

Yay! P2 finally got a Target Circle offer - spend $70 get $10.

They also have a $5 off $40 purchase (entire store). I know that won’t cover GCs but will other merchandise. Can someone help remind me, it’s still the subtotal that needs to hit $70 for the Circle Rewards to credit, correct? Even thought after the $5 (and other coupons, and Circle card discount), the total is less than $70?

It depends what kind of discounts, any discount that is auto applied does not count towards the qualifying spend. Other discounts do count.

I need advice/assistance with giftcards.com...

My young daughter just started a new, full-time job and she will be commuting about 40 miles round-trip, 5 days a week so gas is now a priority for her. I found that I can combine my Apple Card (2%) with Swagbucks (3%) and save on gas gift cards from giftcards.com. I went to giftcards.com and bought a "test" card, a $20 Speedway e-card, to see how it would work in the app. Well, so far, I'm glad I only invested $20 because I'm having no luck. I bought the card and received the e-mail within an hour. When I tried to load it into the app, I received a message that said I have tried too many times to load this form of payment and I have to wait 24 hours to try again with a VALID gift card. Uh.....what? I've never loaded any payment type into my SpeedyRewards app, let alone a gift card. So, I went to the Speedway website to check the balance of the gift card and I got an error message that says "we are unable to process your request". Hmmm....did I get a bad gift card? I sent a message to giftcards.com, but according to their FAQ's, I am supposed to contact the merchant directly. I'm not sure how the merchant (Speedway) is going to help me if giftcards.com (Blackhawk network) is the ones who sent me a bad card...

Help...

It really is a wild amount of money. Generally, we only do any sort of AYCTE at Disney if that's the only way to get access to something else, like character dining or Hoop De Doo.

In this case, we only had a short trip to see Disney at Christmas and then NPH got announced as our processional narrator. I knew we weren't waiting in an hours long standby line, so we opted for Biergarten dinner as it was likely our only time we would pony up to experience that restaurant as well. We figured at least we got the Biergarten show AND the CP show in exchange for that outrageous bill.

Great tip! All of my various credit card cash back goes directly into an interest earning account :thumbsup2 ... which helps us offset up to 25% of each Disney trip!

Unfortunately, Sam's Cash is proprietary as far as I know ... it only offsets purchases made at Sam's. (If anyone knows a way to use it outside of Sam's I'm all :earsboy: ) Regardless, I'll still take it! Last year, we effectively paid back the cost of our Plus membership after all the Sam's cash we acquired - racks up quickly if you use Sam's Tire Center or buy a large ticket item like a TV, etc. However, it DOESN'T rack up from buying discounted GCs through Sam's, and it cannot be used on GC purchases at Sam's. Womp womp.
Sorry I'm trying to catch up.

You can use Sam's Cash to offset purchases made elsewhere buy visiting the service desk and requesting to be cashed out.
I always get cashed out and don't apply the sam's cash to purchases as I would not be earning on those purchases.

I agree I have never had sam's cash credit for me with discounted gift cards but some here state it has credited but I always use a different card for those now.

Some people also have reported that they can redeem Sam's cash on GC but I won't ever try that one.

Edit: Looks like @Plutofan posted about this just a little lower down the page....

We don't either.

We were just at storytellers cafe and all DS would eat were these Miniature chicken drumsticks. There were only 2 originally and when we went back there were none. I had to keep asking the person behind the buffet for them and then they would look at the plate full of fried chicken but we would tell them there weren't any there and then they would come back with a couple of them. These drumsticks were smaller than a chicken wing and DS ate about 8 and half a Sprite and threw a fit that there wasn't ice cream only watermelon sherbert. O well

For anyone in need of a Monday funny, read on: So yesterday I drove an hour to my "local" BJ's warehouse to stack two coupons, one of which was expiring yesterday ($15 off $250). The plan was to grab a few things we needed and then top up with DGCs that would be at about a 20% discount all in. EXCEPT, I forgot in my calculus to account for the sale price of the DGC and the $10 coupon that impacts the order subtotal. Soooooo I call the cashier back and ask her to void the DGC. The system then crashes so she tells me to go to the customer service desk to ring up the order again. But now of course I don't even qualify for the $10 coupon. I'm about 5 minutes away when I realize I forgot to buy toilet paper. Which would have put me over the $250 threshold. But I'm so frustrated that I don't want to go back to customer service, return everything and start over. So I spend an hour driving home, venting at myself for being an idiot who went to use 2 coupons, ended up using none, one of them has now expired and so by the time I get home, I probably haven't saved any money at all because of the time & money needed to get there & back and that there's not a lot they offer that's actually cheaper than the other warehouse stores or Amazon.

The lesson: have a list, check it twice, run the numbers, then run the numbers again. And maybe rethink having a membership that makes things more complicated than they need to be.

So sorry this happened to you. Like you, I like to keep things simple, so I get your frustration.

A lot of people here seem to have good success buying discounted DGC at Target, while others have issues navigating the process. As as result, I cannot bring myself to enter the Target universe, as much as I love a good deal on DGC.

So far I haven’t had issues with BJ’s, but if I start having them I’m outta there…

Most probably the issue is with Speedway and not with Giftcards.com. I have found that many of these gas apps don't work well a lot of times (the exception being the ExxonMobil app, which I have never had an issue with -but have only used them a few times.)

A few years ago there was an Amex offer for Conoco / Philllips 76 - out of 6 gas stations, only once was I able to get their app to work.

And BP, don't get me started with their app. In NJ, it is state law that you are not allowed to pump your own gas. Well, in the BP app, once you authorize the pump, you must start pumping within 45 seconds or it times out. So I pull into the station and start authorizing the pump and the attendant didn't want to wait so he goes to another customer. Of course, by the time he gets back it was more than 45 seconds, so now I have to authorize the app again. So again, he doesn't wait and goes to another customer, and again, by the time he gets back the app times out. After doing this 3 times, I finally said to the guy, it only gives you 45 seconds and you keep walking away for more than 45 seconds - just wait here until I get it authorized. He gave me a dirty look but waited. After that, I never went back to a BP station.

Also, some of these gas companies have all sorts of fine print that you don't realize until afterwards. For example, Shell only allows e-gift cards and not physical gift cards to be loaded into their app (presumably because e-gift cards are only sold directly from Shell and can't be bought at a discount).

For this reason, I stay away from gas gift cards. Instead, I use my sisters Costco account to buy Costco Shop cards and use those to buy gas at Costco. If you have any family member or friend who has Costco membership, you can use their account to buy Costco Shop cards and have it shipped directly to your house.

(The other gift cards I stay away from are airline gift cards since most of them will only allow you to pay for the flight itself and nothing else with the gift card, which is a bunch of garbage. Also, I would much rather pay for flights with points, because if you cancel the flight, you just get your points back which never expire on most airlines as opposed to if you pay with cash or gift cards you get a voucher which has expiration dates. The exception is American Airlines, where points expire if you don't have activity in 24 months.)

Thanks @bbsearchlight, I’m adding gas cards to the list of supposedly good ways to save that I shouldn’t be tempted to try!

Sorry, not sure I understand. How is “auto applied” notated? Or can you give an example?

I got $25 off $150 but it excludes gift cards. 😭
Back in July, I made a post that tried to explain the difference between what does and doesn't qualify so I will repost it below:

For those with Target Circle bonus offers, note the language for qualifying offers:

"A "qualifying purchase" is a purchase made with your Target Circle Card after you activate the offer that meets the minimum purchase threshold. Your purchase qualifies after automatic Target Circle deals are applied but before other discounts and coupons."

So what this is saying is that if you have a target circle deal that is auto applied (meaning you don't have to click on anything to activate the offer) that does NOT count towards the spending for the bonus.

For example, take a look at the 2 offers pictured below. In the first one for toothpaste, you must click on the red APPLY button to activate the offer so that purchase the full amount (including the 10% being taken off) would qualify for the bonus.

In the second offer for soda, notice the offer is auto-applied, meaning you don't have to click on anything to activate the offer. In that case, the 40% being taken off the soda does not count towards the bonus spend - only the amount paid after the 40% is taken off qualifies.Capture.JPG

Are you sure? Target Circle Deals always includes Disney Gift Cards. Mine completed and paid out already.

I think they didn't get a circle bonus of $25 for spending $150 but a regular circle offer of $25 off a purchase of $150. Those offers do usually exclude gift cards.
