If I can get my butt in gear & get packed, I'm heading to Cape Cod today for the weekend to work 2 events. I'll have a laptop, but access is pretty slow at my parents.

Have a great weekend in case I don't check in. :goodvibes

Anyway--is it acceptable for me to book events that may be a little further away from my house, but then if something close pops up unbook and rebook for the ones closer to home? Does the company frown on this? (I'm not talking about unbooking within days of an event--I'm talking weeks away).

TIA AGAIN for all your help.:thumbsup2

Depends on who you are with. TMT frowns on unbooking online and takes away your log in if you do it. SPi does not seem to care as much.

Mama3Princess: Look forward to meeting you. Maybe we can sneak some lime green into our outfit.

PatriciaH: Thanks-- I am with Spi but still feel guilty when I unbook. However--If I can do an event CLOSE to home than I will. I don't mind traveling but would much rather be 5 minutes away than 30.

Is anyone else dong the curves cereal event next week. I got my kit today but the label says event date 7/31 but online i have an event date of 8/2? anybody else notice this?

I noticed that on the box too. They haven't changed anything on the event instructions or anything.

Holy smokes. That Cape Cod Kmart is one busy store! Not like the Kmarts around us. The just redid the store & they have an internet cafe now. Cool! Busiest Kmart in New England they said.

I'm doing the same Purina products again tomorrow that I did today, but I already sold all the Beggin Strips & there aren't anymore. I sold 92 today off all the products featured. Just wow!

I was set up at front door & had to tell everyone that Kmart has a newly expanded pet care center. I don't think I stopped smiling or talking for 5 hrs. lol. My smile still hurts. haha

I also saw the boxes with coupons for my upcoming weekends. Yeah! And each week is different Purina products.

Oh....and it was super hot. Not suprised that store was super hot too. They actually had a cooler filled with ice & bottles of water just inside the front door for just 25 cents to enjoy while shopping. Lots of people appreciated that.

See ya all when I get back home tomorrow night maybe.

Okay, make sure you post how it goes! I'm curious since most events go very fast here and these have all just sat for 3 weeks now. The date is Aug 31st for all the ones here.

Here's the low down...

If you get your kit - then by all means do it, the mobile sampler is comfortable and designed well.

If you don't get your kit - run like h*ll from this event. I sat around home waiting until 1:20 pm for FedEx to show (today/Sat.). Was told to be at the store at 2 pm at the latest and stay to 7 pm. The kit didn't arrive at my house until 4:30 pm. My husband drove it to me (30 miles RT), so I had it from 5 pm to 7 pm. Prior to that I made a display on the MC table and asked mgmt. if they would allow one of each of the full size product to be a tester (they let me). Thankfully there were $1 off coupons on many of the products so that helped a little.

The time went good once I had the kit - the samples come glued to a nice card. I had about 30 of each type left, so I put half on the pharmacy counter and half on the service counter. Some people avoided me like the plague, but most were happy to get the sample, even several men wanted it.

Oh gosh! Well i'm glad your kit did finally show up! Thanks for reporting on how the event went, it doesn't sound too bad at all :thumbsup2

Do you have any off-dates for it near you? I would definately do it, here is a pic of how it looks (remembered to fix my shirt later):

I'm hoping they do go to off dates here. The original date for the event is Aug 31, and there are at least 20 locations not booked around me yet, which is unheard of! Hopefully I will be able to get some when they go off date!

That's weird (or I'm weird) because this is an opportunity to be able to move around. It's not heavy at all, and for the most part, people like to receive things they can bring home.

Home from Cape Cod. LONG day. 5 hrs of pet event, then I changed & grabbed something to eat & hit the road. 3 hrs later I was home. I must have left at the same time as all the tourist because traffic was bad the first hour. Got home & just crashed on my own bed. :goodvibes

I do it all over again come Friday.

I don't know if I was audited. I ran out of coupons around 2pm. So I left my table to walk the store quickly looking for discarded ones to re-use. As I happen to walk by my table, I see a lady stopped there, so I go back & give her a coupon. I don't know....just something odd made me think she was an auditor. But she didn't really ask me anything. (Granted, I had NO SCRIPT ABOUT PRODUCTS with this event...it was all about Kmart having an enhanced pet center now). She left & looked at some nearby racks, then left the store. :confused3 I left to find more discarded coupons. Whatever.

Store was even busier today than yesterday. I'm pretty sure this is the busiest store I've been into yet....& honestly that suprised me. ALOT!

Now I know how some of you all sell so much!!!

I've done Garnier lots of times and have never had to wear one of those!?:confused3

What did they have you do, give samples from the table? This must be something new because Walmart said another demo company did the same thing earlier in the week (with the mobile sampler), but with different product samples.

I did a grand opening day of a Super Target yesterday, I don't know how all the people fit in the store it, was so packed - every checkout open and at least 9 carts in each line. Dumb me signed up for steak - we sold out the first hour and then they switched me to a petite sirloin. I had people trying to grab pieces while I was cutting! That George Foreman grill works great, but what a mess to clean after 5 hours of using it.

Oh and the Target-employed demo lead quit hours before the store opened, but this great person from MC was there (Mary) and TG for that - she was so nice - she got me and another MC person set up and made sure everything was working before she left. I would not recommend doing an opening day at a store lol - but I can sure see why people like doing Super Target jobs, everything is really nice - the tables, equipment, etc.

Yes, just stood at my table! Did you wonder around the store or stay near the table?

I walked the whole store about 3/4th of the time, but after everyone started looking the same to me, the greeter and I got people at the door - he was really cute, he's 80 and he told people he was 120, and that's how good it was for anti-aging, he looks 40 years younger now. He really does use the serum he said, every time he gets out of the shower.

Thanks to this thread I finally applied and was hired. I booked the one and only event around here in the next month for Scott Extra Soft and Airwick Freshmatic. Will I receive the get started kit with the table in the mail now that I have booked an event? This event doesn't require product to be purchased, so do I just use the MC card to buy a small item to indicate I showed up? The directions don't say about a first purchase, only one after the event.
The welcome envelope wasn't super informative and you guys are always so knowledgeable and helpful.

It took about 7-10 days after I received the MC card, etc. before I got the kit.

Always buy something for 75 cents at the start, I learned that lesson the hard way - my instructions didn't say to if there was no product at the store, so I called to ask, didn't hear back, didn't make a purchase and they shorted me $27. Some of my instructions say to and some don't, but like Splash said, it'd be better to get 75 cents deducted from your check instead.
