Violent Kid at Daycare?

I am also a teacher, and sometimes it makes me sick -- all the rights that the violent and disruptive kids have. What about the rights of the other children or the rights of the teacher? Blondy876, I was sorry to hear of your injury. I teach 1st grade in an inner city public school and we also see the kids who are kicked out of other schools, repeatedly. Our district is taking more of a stance on safety, but the guidelines don't always seem to be followed unless you threaten to go to the Union. It often depends on the principal....and many times they are just shuffled around in the building until the year is up.

Sorry that was OT. Good luck to the OP. I think you should definitely talk to the director and look into the situation. You can't be the only parent inquiring about this! Three children sent to the hospital??? :confused3 All the parents must be up in arms! If it were my child's school, I'd like to know what was done and who needed to be notified! I agree that the poor child must have some problems, BUT he can't be permitted to injure other children. Maybe he does need a setting where there are professionals to help him as I know most daycares don't have counselors and all of the training and structure that other programs may have. Yes, it is hard on the parents to be kicked out, but I hope that the parents will seek help for their child who obviously has a problem.

Belle&Beast -- I'm glad you saw the thread in question and understood the poster's intent. ;)

Oooh, if a child like that was allowed to stay at the daycare and then hurt my baby, it would not be pretty. I'll fight a 2 year old! (not really!)

I personally know a boy who was thrown out (his families words) of 4 daycares. The daycare that my children were in had a boy that was thrown out and a friend of mine owns a daycare that had a child that bit and hit and the other parents said they would remove their kids if something wasn't done. I don't believe that you have to put up with that crap!

Well, a 4 year old caused me to miscarry after striking me with a table, you'd be shocked at the behavior of some of these little ones. It makes me sad to think about what must have happened in their short little lives to make them so angry.

This is also what I was going to add:

It's not always easy to expell a child. The child that injured me remained in my class the enitire year. It's not right, but that's the way it is in some states.

I would definatly speak to the director, but I honestly don't know what the answer would be.

:faint::eek::sad2:

I am so sorry!!!!!!!! :sad1:

:sad2: I can't believe this kid is allowed IN this program. Sounds like he AND his mother belong in a "special" program.

I know. they do belong in a "special" program
