Valentines, Vixens and Vodka!! 7/5/2021 COMPLETE! NEW TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED!

the original plan had Joe and I taking that dreadful early morning flight out of Midway in Chicago on the 13th. After stressing about it and worrying about it and just plain having zero desire to wake up before dawn, Joe and I decided to fly out the night before.
We usually take the dreaded first flight out of Midway, too. But that early, 6am, flight was cancelled for our Feb 28th flight to MCO. The first nonstop was now 9:15am. We found that we really do prefer the 6am flight. :)

My sister and I went to WDW at the end of January and took the 6:30pm flight. We landed around 10pm and got to our resort by 11pm. It was my first time taking an evening flight to Orlando and really wasn't too bad of a flight. The hardest part about the 6:30 pm flight was waiting all day long for it. :)
I just kind of lost the enthusiasm I had for writing the reports. I think I just had to find my groove again. Happy we were missed. 😁
I missed your reports and was glad to find this new one. I need to do some catching up now, since I just found it. :)

Mmmmmm beaches and cream dreamsicle sounds like something I need right now!

Soooo much food in the last few updates, but that’s what I come here for! Food, fun, and frolicking! And friends!!

I’ll put Rix down as a “not needed, but a good option if staying in the tower and it fits the schedule.”

Sounds like a great night out. Love it when the stars align and you get to hang out with friends on holiday.
Joe’s birthday celebrations look amazing too. So nice that there’s no extra charge for the loft experience :goodvibes

It was an amazing vacation and a great birthday for Joe. The Loft was such a cool dining experience and very romantic.

Great review of Rix...and funny that as we were heading there from AK last week I told DH to look it up and he was struggling...then I told him "you can't find R-I-X" because of course he was looking for RICKS...and why wouldn't he be really? We stopped in there last week to get a little bit of food in us before we attended Sangria University. We ordered too much food for sure but I would go back if we were looking for a place to eat that's also close to AK and there's nothing at the park itself. I thought the Watchos were really good!

I went with a boring Coke float
I can see why you wouldn't be hungry right now. ::yes:: My favorite is the root beer float. I have to have it every time we eat there.
For those of you who don't know, Rix is a sports bar located at Coronado Springs Resort. It's nothing special and I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but the convenience couldn't be beaten and the food and drinks are all decent options.
It is a lot easier to meet at the resort. :)
It was such a good night. I miss the 4 of them soooooo much!!!!
You are going to have to plan more trips together. It sounds like you had a great night. :)
It's called The Loft and it's located in a tucked-away corner of the resort, upstairs from the restaurant, Atwaters. It's a private dining experience that was super romantic, and just simply perfect if I'm giving an honest review.
This looks very romantic, and very safe from Covid. We'll have to check this place out someday. We live about 40 minutes away from Geneva, so not too far away.

How did you like Sangria University? We want to book it again!!!

OMG! All we did was eat, lol!

We have one more planned this year but hoping to talk Ariane into another...

Lovely Romantic Birthday Dinner. The food looked soo good. I'm sure you were in a food comma for a while.
It was absolutely perfect.

Today was Valentine's Day ❤ and we spent it in Epcot at FARTS! We also spent it with Ariane, Steve, Melinda, and Ryan. We tried out some of the food booths (Joe and I weren't very impressed this year). The one thing I did enjoy was the Coq au Vin. Ariane was given it by accident and I got to enjoy it. We stopped to watch the AMAZING Trevor Carlton, who is extremely talented and I'm so grateful Ariane brought him into our lives last year. If you haven't seen him, I highly recommend that you take time out to watch him paint. We also attended our very first Animation Academy and attempted to draw Tinker Bell. I wasn't very good at it but I did enjoy the experience and would happily do it again. The crowds were definitely lower than last year but still felt the park had a decent capacity.

Next up, Dinner at Jaleo!!!

Well I am sitting here with my newest Polynesian candle from Magic Candle burning (new subscription box arrived today) and enjoying a glass of wine. Then I spied your update which is a perfect antidote a crazy stressful day at work.

Sounds like a perfect day! That picture of you three is so cute...I loved it when Ariane shared it on FB.

I can't wait to eat there, those endive leaves are calling my name. ❤

We really enjoyed it. I'll have a review when I get to my last day of my trip report. We probably enjoyed it too much...as afterwards we had to enjoy a nap before I felt comfortable to drive. The setting on the water is amazing of course. I also enjoyed the small corn appetizer they gave us...so good. We had somebody in the group allergic to CITRUS (hello...fruit wine that usually has some citrus...why are you here?) and another allergic to apples I think and gluten. Anyway we were obviously very spaced out so not like we interacted with any of the other people other than the guy leading our class. There were 2 teachers on different sides of the restaurant for spacing each teaching a group. Of course we got into it by luck...I saw the email, emailed back I was interested very quickly, got a response that I was in a few days later and asking for names. The next day or so I got a response that the class was FULL...I was so confused! Thankfully I emailed and that second email was a mistake...we were still in the class. Yay!

Love the photos. Maybe one day I'll make it to FARTs...it's one of the few events I haven't seen yet. I will say though that I wasn't that impressed with the Flower and Garden booths this year either. I'll give them another shot in May/June when we return I guess.

We tried out some of the food booths (Joe and I weren't very impressed this year).
I had the beef Wellington and my sister had the scallop at the American booth. I got the much better deal because the scallop was tiny and my beef was a good size and cooked perfectly. Other than that, the booths weren't too impressive.

I watched your Atwater dinner video and the entire experience looks wonderful. It looks like a very elegant place to eat. :)

Best thing on the menu in my opinion.

OMG, your food at WBG looks amazing!!!!
Best restaurant in all of Disney IMO.
