Right now we're trying to figure out and budget our trip for mid-June by considering several options for our hotel stay, with one of the main options deciding if we can afford to stay onsite. Since the current AP resort discount code only goes to June 3, we are looking into an option where we could stay at one of the resorts but only if we use an AP rate code (we don't have an AP nor exchange voucher yet). Our question is: Does anyone know if we have to have an AP or an AP exchange voucher in-hand to make a reservation using an AP code? Or, can we make the reservation and purchase the AP afterwards (and have it in-hand by the time we check in at the resort)? The issues we have with buying an AP before a code comes out are that 1) the upfront cost of an AP is high and we don't necessarily need one if we end up having to stay offsite, 2) there's no certainty that a code will be issued for later in June and 3) even if a code is posted for that time, there's no certainty that rooms will be available on the dates we want. Ideally, we'd like to make our reservations by waiting to see if a code actually comes out for our time in June first, make the reservations using the AP code, and then buy the AP after our reservations are confirmed and prior to arriving at the resort. Is this OK to do? Thanks for your replies.
