Tropical Storm Wilma ~ To Affect Fla?

Well, we head in this Friday night, 10/28, so it sounds like we should get there without a problem. However I will say a prayer or 2 that Wilma stays away and goes out to sea! We will be watching and waiting to see what happens just like all of you.

I join all of the others flying down from Indy this weekend. I am so worried now that our flight will not be able to get in on Sunday. We are supposed to land around noon.

Our flight lands at noon on Sunday. Correct me if I am wrong but right now it looks like it will be out to sea by 8am on Sunday morning. I would imagine that noon flights will get in? I could be wrong. I am feeling a little more optomistic at this point.

I leave at 7:00 am tomorrow from philly but we come home sunday at 10:30 am and looks like that we will be right in the middle of it at that time. my daughter has a college midterm monday night at 6:30. just have to be home before then. also have HHN tickets for sat night $100.00 each with express pass for 1 day. we may have to leave sat night if they let us
this is my 1st halloween trip for disney party on thurs and fri it looks as if it would come in on sat night that's HHN night gues we all have to wait and see

Our flight leaves at 7am from Atlantic City International Airport Saturday 22 scheduled to arrive in Orlando around 9:00-9:30. Do you think we will have any problems or delays at that time? I really hope this doesnt affect ANYONE who has plans this weekend. I have my fingers crossed

I hope they can't give away reservations I am at Pop on wed and thurs and RPR at universal on fri and sat I will check in at 9:00am on friday to be safe

It looks like it arrives around midnight Sat or very early Sunday. It shows right now that Wilma is out to sea by 8am Sunday. That is if this model is right.
Why on Earth would they give away your ressie? I know they use the resorts as shelters sometimes but if they gave away *YOUR* room where would *YOU* sleep? They would still have a problem with SOMEONE having nowhere to go. That would not make sense. I would imagine they would take as many people as the could and fill any unfilled rooms then another site would need to be opened up.
I just can't see them taking in one person and throwing another out on the streets esp not a paying guest with a ressie!

so maybe I can make HHN and get out on sunday? I hope it goes out to sea somewhere the people of fl and the southern states have had enough .I feel bad worring about my plans when they have homes and jobs to worry about and let's not forget the animals too

As of now, looks like this will be a South Fl event, so if it stays that way, Disney visitors shouldnt have any problems, except for some rain. Thankfully!

Im stressing as well and I know I shouldnt worry over things I cannot change like the weather. I leave early saturday morning on the 22nd.. Had plans to see Spectromagic that night,, I sure hope it doesnt rain so bad they cancel the parade???

Don't stress over that at all!!

We missed fantasmic...MY personal DREAM show...because of rain. I wanted to cry and throw a fit and be mad but I just couldn't~~we were soooo happy to just be there it was amazing!!! There will be plenty of other shows, parades, lights, more than you can imagine so don't worry about it~

"In Florida, I expect a hurricane hit with sub 950 pressures and most of the coast from Cedar Key to Jacksonville to have at least hurricane-force gusts. I have a landfall 3:00-9:00 a.m. Sunday between Tampa and Key West and an exit within 25 miles of Cape Canaveral 12-15 hours later. Unlike the fist of fury that was Charley, this will be more of a large-scale brawler, much like Isabel. Also unlike Charley, which underachieved and disappeared farther north, this is likely to help produce plenty of wind and rain farther north."

I would be more concered , that is if it did go through orlando... that it would do major damage to the resorts and theme parks. That would be a bigger blow than it hitting oil rigs I would think, economicaly and emotionally. Orlando has to be the #1 tourist place in the U.S. and if its messed up, then thats bad. Plus it would be bad if our favorite child hood and classic attractions were gone and unreplaceable. Im sure its going to miss Orlando thank goodness, but even if its far inland a cat 4 or 5 and direct hit could do bad stuff.

None of us would want to see a Cat 4 or 5 go over Orlando and WDW HOWEVER I do not think anyone can say it would be a bigger blow to the economy to hit WDW then hitting the oil rigs. If we receive further damage to the oil rigs and refineries no one will be going to WDW or anywhere else because no one would be able to afford to fly or drive. That would effect the whole US not just one region.

Sorry if that was out of place here, Im not arguing or anything by any means, and statistically I cant see it happening, I was just venting b/c it seems crazy how all these hurricanes are forming in the gulf, and I keep hoping they will avoind the oil and orlando.
