Trip Report #21 is Ready

atigeg:

Can you guys adopt me? 21 trips - only in my disney dreams...:)

Can you tell me why I can not find it? Please...... For the last few weeks, I keep getting "server not found" when I try to access your site using IE. I can not access the site using AOL, because it gives me the ol' "illegal" speal and then knocks me off of the net. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Strange...
Sometimes I get a weird SQL error when I try to access it, but every time I'm going to report it to our web hosting service, it resolves itself.
Try www.disneycruiser.com
That URL has pop-up ads, but it has all the same content as it is our mirror site. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll find out our other mirror URL from hubby (it's long so I always forget it).

Thanks for your trip reports again! I really enjoy them. Our #2 is coming up in Nov!

Great trip report. Glad you had a great cruise.

HI Atigeg!

My DH and I are ready to depart for our second trip to WDW in 6 months and are trying the 3 day Wonder this time. I figured I'd ask you as you are the expert! We're departing out of Midway and I've noticed you do as well...I'm assuming because of ATA or Southwest? Do you park your car or take a limo service? If you park your car, where do you suggest?

Stephanie

great trip report!!!

so i guess we shouldn't worry about 3 days being too short...
i picked a 3 day cruise for two reasons...
because the timing works out best and because i'm afraid we'll hate it or be sick the whole time, so 3 days is the safest for the first time...

by the way, Barb, we'll be on your next wonder cruise with you...(i think it's your next one)....
we'll be there in red, white and blue....and hoping we love it as much as you do...

I loved reading your report. Very informative. I'm disappointed to hear that the Wonder serves that "syrup" tea instead of fresh-brewed! I, like you, am not a fan of that mixture stuff. I often do just what you do and order hot tea with a glass of ice. (it drives my dh crazy!):D I'm glad to know ahead of time that this will be required onboard to get fresh-brewed tea. (I know it's such a little thing, but to me it's one of the niceties!)
Also disappointed to find out we will not be able to hear this "Hades monologue" that I've read so much about. Darn...cruising just a bit too late!
And the final disappointment is the lack of three colors of mud for the surial mud bath! I was so looking forward to that...oh well, we'll have fun just the same!;) (Do you happen to know if that is a permanent change or were they just out of two color?):)
Thanks for the heads up about staying to the end of the WWTBAM. Is there a drawing for the Mickey plush or what I'd like to know is how is the give-away done?
Hope you enjoy your 7-day cruise! (and who wouldn't)

Lisa:)

Atigeg.......
Great trip report! I wish we could take you with us, since you seem to know all the "ins and outs" to a Disney cruise! I'm so nervous about forgetting something, or missing something that I should have signed up for!!!!!!!! It is driving me crazy! We have waited a year for our cruise, and I want to enjoy every minute of it!

Thanks again for the info!
Do young boys wear nice shorts to dinner with a nice collared shirt?

Thanks for such a great trip report. I have learned so much from reading all of your reports...but like the previous post...I wish you were on our cruise to show us all the ins and outs. Thanks Again!

I am happy to hear that your CC streak is still going and that you hads another WONDERful cruise. I love reading your trip reports and I love your positive attitude where the people on board are not strangers rather friends just waiting to be met!!

Thanks Again for the great info.

Lisa

sbasowski,
Yep, we take ATA (we can never find a good rate on Southwest, and I like that fact that ATA assigns seats...as childless adults, we'd be the last ones on the plane after an Orlando kiddie pre-board!).
We used to take a limo but got badly burned several times. We had one show up very late, one not show up at all, and then one where it turned out to be a shared ride, even tho' we were not warned about that fact. They didn't build in any extra time, and the other person was not ready, so we almost missed our flight. All that was before 9/11...now, there is even less leeway, so we just drive.
I have searched high and low for a non-airport-affiliated lot by Midway, but it seems that none exists. We park in their economy lots, although over Easter weekend those were all full, as was the remote parking lot. We ended up in the remote-remote lot, which was practically all the way back to Ford City! But it was a $15 flat fee vs. $9 per day at the other lots, and the shuttles were pretty prompt. Just build in some extra time in case you have to backtrack to a remote lot. You can call and listen to their info. channel on the radio...we did that on this trip, but both sources gave incorrect information (they said all lots were open, but Yellow was full). Overall, the economy lots aren't too bad.
If you ever do O'Hare, I highly recommend booking Avistar through www.airportparkinglots.com, which gives you a GREAT rate (they do bookings for other cities too).

Barb, Don't forget that Southwest is now offering Buy 1 Get 1 Free. So if you booked already, they will credit your account. They are taking ressies till Sept. 13. But I think you have to book by 5/24

Good Luck

Oooooo, for that kind of deal I could even live with the cattle call!
Only problem is that I am such a compulsive planner that I already have the plane tickets for all of our trips this year except for Thanksgiving (I'm still waiting for a decent rate...I know, I'm a dreamer!).
