sbasowski,
Yep, we take ATA (we can never find a good rate on Southwest, and I like that fact that ATA assigns seats...as childless adults, we'd be the last ones on the plane after an Orlando kiddie pre-board!).
We used to take a limo but got badly burned several times. We had one show up very late, one not show up at all, and then one where it turned out to be a shared ride, even tho' we were not warned about that fact. They didn't build in any extra time, and the other person was not ready, so we almost missed our flight. All that was before 9/11...now, there is even less leeway, so we just drive.
I have searched high and low for a non-airport-affiliated lot by Midway, but it seems that none exists. We park in their economy lots, although over Easter weekend those were all full, as was the remote parking lot. We ended up in the remote-remote lot, which was practically all the way back to Ford City! But it was a $15 flat fee vs. $9 per day at the other lots, and the shuttles were pretty prompt. Just build in some extra time in case you have to backtrack to a remote lot. You can call and listen to their info. channel on the radio...we did that on this trip, but both sources gave incorrect information (they said all lots were open, but Yellow was full). Overall, the economy lots aren't too bad.
If you ever do O'Hare, I highly recommend booking Avistar through
www.airportparkinglots.com, which gives you a GREAT rate (they do bookings for other cities too).
