I am curious if anyone has any recent experience with purchasing trip insurance, specifically Covid insurance, before their Disney World vacation? With the recent increase in positive cases in Florida I am considering purchasing this insurance before my trip in a couple of weeks. However I am finding it difficult to find information online specifically about what is covered. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The only insurance we ever buy pre trip is emergency medical insurance… even though we both have it through our employers insurance plan we always get extra from CAA… we were down in April and will be down again in July (driving) so I was not concerned about missing flights or having to stay etc

I was debating buying the Disney insurance although I just realized apparently I bought trip insurance through delta when I bought my tickets. I think it doesn't make sense to have both.

I always buy thru Blue Cross. Both travel medical- won’t leave Canada without it. And because I am travelling during hurricane season I also buy trip insurance

Once I bought trip insurance for my daughter from Airline. They were stuck overnight due to connecting flight problem. I was surprised at how little they covered. So now always use Blue Cross. Airline trip insurance isn’t the best.

I will be purchasing covid insurance via manulife for this trip. It will cost us about $90 for a family of three for 2 weeks. I'm not worried about the medical expenses because I have decent medical insurance through work and credit cards, but neither of them cover what would likely be an enormous hotel bill for 10+ days should we have to extend our trip due to covid.

I purchased Ontario Blue Cross insurance for my recent 1 week trip. It included Covid-19 coverage. That was only about 3 weeks ago but I'm fuzzy on the details now. It was something like if I had to stay in the States because I caught covid, they covered up to $300 for accomodations & meals to a max of 10 days ($3,000).

They also threw in free flight delay service, which I could not use because a cancelled flight that is then rebooked for later the same day is not a flight delay... (wry grin)

I’m searching for some kind of insurance to protect me from the airlines and flight cancellations but it seems like there is only delay / interruption insurance and medical related stuff.

If they cancel my flights to Orlando last minute seems like nothing I can do but watch the trip and park tickets 🤑 etc go down in flames 🔥

Am I too paranoid? 😵‍💫
