when flying on a plane do prescription drugs need to be in there bottle or can you put them in a pill box?? i take a few things and only want to bring what i need and a few xtra? do i have to prove what they are? I dont want any problems?

Travelling within the U.S. you are not required to have the original prescription and should have no problems taking your meds in a pill box. (Practically speaking, however, you may want to take the prescription if you are carrying something like Oxycontin just to avoid any potential problems.)

If you are traveling internationally, some countries may require you to have the original prescription. Check specific requirements or just bring them in the original container to be safe.

I always wondered the same thing about perscriptions, but have just taken them with me in the bottles inside a zip loc plastic bag in my carry on , then sort them out into my weekly/daily pill container once I get to my Hotel. I take take 8 different pills, 2 different inhalers plus my 2 types of insulin a day. I am a walking pharmacy LOL. Also good idea to carry a list with you of what you take and the perscription numbers in case anything should happen and you need to refill while away or if you sudden become ill the perimedics will have the info
