I just got back last night from my 30th trip to the world. In all those trips I had never ridden the Tower of Terror. Granted, it wasn't open for all of the trips, but it was open for a lot of them. My whole family always rides, but I always just walk through with them and then take the "regular" elevator down. I was always just too scared. Yes, I am a wimp when it comes to rides! One trip I even got onto Tower of Terror and then just as the CM was going to shut the door I begged to be let off. Well, this trip I bit the bullet and rode. And....it was amazing!!!! I can't believe I was missing it all this time. My family always begged me to ride, but I never believed them that it was so great and not scary. I am a ToT convert! Now if I can only conquer the Rock'n Roller coaster...

I hope I can be thatbrave when we go in March!!

You're an inspiration!

Congratulations! My 6 year old rode ToT twice on the last trip. She has finally become a daredevil :). I'm so proud of her!

Now that you've done ToT, RnRC should be easy for you! After all, there's no freefall on the coaster, you're strapped in really tight.
We did ToT twice this past trip, because my DM72 wanted to.

Congratulations on conquering ToT!!! I love this ride, but I will admit that I get a little scared while riding it...that's the thrilling part :scared1:

Good for you! I know how you felt, believe me! It took me 3 rides before I could relax and now it's my favorite ride, although I still have to sit in the back corner so that I'm 'safe', haha :confused3 . One day we will ride in the front, they have an extra bar up there you can hang on to as well, which is an important detail for me ::yes:: .

Glad you enjoyed the ride. I went on it for the first time last year. :cool1:

We think that RnR is much easier than TOT. We aren't big roller coaster people but we love going on it and don't find it bad at all.

I went on Rockin Roller Coaster to keep my neice company. No one else would go on. Boy am I a good aunt. I am not going to tell you it was horrible but it is no Tower of Terror. I went on that for my nephew. I was pleasantly surprised as to how mellow Tower of Terror was. Now you have something to look forward to next time. I figure it is good to get my heart pumping once in a while. It cleans out my clogging arteries. :)

Way to go!!! I know what you feel like. I love that ride, but still everytime I get on it my palms start to sweat, I feel sick to my stomach. But when it's over, I love it. This past trip in 05 we were on it, and instead of dropping when we first went into the elevator, we shot up. It was amazing. It was the best time we have had on it. The one thing that I noticed, I wasn't as "anxious" this time because we were with my nephew and his girlfriend so we talked about everything under the sun while we were waiting and I didn't think about the ride.

Now for the RnR. My husband had to bribe me with a trip to Disney to get me to go on it. He said the only way that we would go is if I rode RnR. So of course I said I would, just to go to Disney. The first time through, I closed my eyes. We rode it again a few days later, kept my eyes opened the whole time, and I love that ride too!!! The best thing about the ride is that it is all positive G's. You never get that weird feeling in your stomach. For almost anyone who has never rode before, I bet once you ride it, you will like it if not love it. :flower3:

I"m one of those who prefer RnRC to ToT!!! I'll do RnRC over and over. I rode ToT in Aug '03. It was pretty good....came off and said to my dd..."So, what's the big deal? That wasn't so bad!!" Well.......dd and I did it again in Dec '03. Got a whole different sequence! I thought I was going to die,,right then and there. So, I stayed off the darn thing until last month. Yes, I succumbed to peer pressure!!!! And I whined about it the whole time. I kept praying for a wussie sequence, the others kept saying that had better not happen....they like the terrifying drops. So, on I go...grab the bars, yes the bars John!!!! And yippee yahooy!!! Sorry guys, but we did, in fact, get a slightly wussie sequence. So, just to let all of you know, who were there with me....next Dec, I will go on again, I will not grab the bars, and I will raise my arms and scream right along with you all. I promise!!!!

DH and I used to always watch the doors opening on ToT and just think everyone was insane that was on the ride. 2 years ago we both dared each other to go on it and now we're addicted! Our favorite time to ride it is at dusk, when the doors open and you can see the sunset and the entire park lights twinkling. It's just gorgeous!

I love the ride! My first trip was last May with my sister, I was so scared but being older, I didnt want to chicken out. I rode it and loved it. Unfortunately her legs were shaking and thought one right would be sufficient. I went back in OCt for MNSSHP and rode it 4 times. I went back for MVMCP and rode it another 21 times. After the 3rd time riding, I didnt need to hold on anymore. I have even taped it. It is pretty dark until you see the park through the open doors but fun to listen to the screams as you are being dropped. Cant wait to get back there. 3 trips in one year but now I'm broke. Gotta save some money!

I have rode RRC several times, but everytime I even think about ToT I get a sick feeling. DH and I are going in May, and once again he'll spend hours begging me to go on with him, but I just dont know if I can. I am affraid I am going to HATE it and it will seem like forever, or what if I get sick? :crazy2: There are just too many things that could go wrong. :rotfl:

I have ridden ToT twice...dragged on by my kids. I can't say I really enjoy it. BUT...RnRc is the BEST! I loved it! Can't wait to get back!

OK, thanks to you and your positive experience Stitch104, I will ride the ToT when I visit Disney's California Adventure in a couple of weeks. I'll report all the details when I return.

I love Tower of Terror! Even though every time I go on it I scream my brains out! I know I will be scared, yet I keep doing it! I have a fear of heights so this ride is especially scary to me, but somehow I just keep doing it. Did RnRc last year and thought it was too short of a ride to wait for, so didn't do it this year, even though I do love Aerosmith (went 4 times to Disney) We get to MGM at opening and sometimes go on TOT 3 times in a row (yes I know I'm crazy for doing something that scares me, but it is FUN!) But I think the reason is that I like Tower of Terror so much is because I grew up watching The Twighlight Zone on television and I love the story of the Hotel.
