Touring Plans Room Request Fax

Does this work if you're renting DVC points?
Can't imagine why not.
They have a room finder for Villas
You just need a confirmation number to include on the fax.
So as long as you have one of those you should be fine

I agree with AngiTN - but there is one major issue.
DVC resorts are timeshares and as such they are designed and operated to run near 100% capacity - and they do. Requests are very hard to fulfill, as the room type you are requesting may not be available on your checkin day. As a DVC owner, I seldom get my requests - and I expect that. I used the Touring Plans fax service in October and my requests was not met. I was not upset nor surprised. It is just the way it is.

I agree with Hopefully. The time we rented points to stay at SSR was the one and only time I didn't get my request. Can't hurt to try though!

Thanks! I'll give it try.

Just did my request for our stay at POR next week... we have 2 reservations so I'll report back how it goes. I added 2 extra days at the last minute so I was unable to book the same category.

I used TP fax for a DVC room at SSR of Jan. 2016 and I know SSR got the fax cause the check-in lady made a comment that I would be very happy with my room and I could probably guess where it was. I got nearly the exact room I requested just 2 floors down from what I requested.

When I used TP fax for CBR, I got a room in the village I requested and was a corner room like I had requested just at a different building then I had requested but still a great room.

One reason is DVC Member Services has posted asking members not to call or fax the resorts. Make your requests through Member Services (the member would have to do that).

Im kind of afraid to put in my request through touring plans, because I booked a specific type of room at the GF (handicap accessible w/roll in shower) and on touring plans it is saying this type of room is majors in one building (with 2 rooms in other buildings) but Disney disability services said the type of room I booked is in all buildings. So I'm not sure if the touring plans building layout is correct or not, therefore I'm afraid to request something... Just very unsure how accurate the room layout really is.

It's been my experience that it is extremely INaccurate.

This is why I never use it to pick a specific room. I use it to select the area of resort I want, which is does get right.
Like I want facing N in a certain building on a certain floor. Since that is how it is entered in their fax it works.
And in what little I've tested it, it seems their king rooms are correct, in that if I've used a King room in my sample I've gotten a King room, without adding it via online check in or phone

That sucks that it isn't very accurate on specific rooms, I can't even really use it for a specific area since from what Disney is telling me about room location and what the website has isn't very accurate for that either. I think I'll stick with just putting in my request over the phone with centeral reservations and with online checki-in. Maybe I'll try touring plans some other trip...

I check in to CBR on Sunday (1 week! yay!) and I got an email from TP saying my room request will be sent in soon. Crossing my fingers I get the room I want, or at least close to it.

We used the fax service for our recent stay at Coronado Springs.

We picked specific room with secondary instructions for the rest of the floor. Ended up with the room next door. Pretty great service.

We will be landing at MCO at 10pm. I know this gets us to the resort (Pop Century) pretty late. I have set up my fax for rooms through Touring Plans. Because we arrive so late, do I have any hope of getting my request or anything close to it? If we get a room far away from the Main building/bus stop, how far would the longest walk be? Don't mind walking a bit, but it will be July and hot. Thanks everyone!!

I've used it at OKW twice - once in September during one of the slowest weeks of the year, and I got the exact room I requested. The second time was over Easter - one of the busiest weeks of the year, and I got a room one building away from the one I requested. Needless to say I am very impressed and pleased with their services. I will say that both times my room was not ready before 4:00. I don't know if this is what happens when you are very specific about which room you want, or if it was just a coincidence.

When you arrive has no bearing on your room assignment as rooms are assigned 2-3 days before your arrival.

I'm sorry to hear that, @dansdad. If you know of specific rooms that need updating, send me a list, please. It'll help other families going forward.

We got most of the room data directly from Disney. Things change over time, though, so it's a constant effort to keep up.
