Touring Plans Room Request Fax

I'm sorry to hear that, @dansdad. If you know of specific rooms that need updating, send me a list, please. It'll help other families going forward.

We got most of the room data directly from Disney. Things change over time, though, so it's a constant effort to keep up.
What about connecting rooms? I don't see any of those listed.

Thought I'd report that I got exactly what I requested at CR last week. When I checked in the room wasn't quite ready. I asked about the room we got, knowing they won't typically give out room numbers ahead of time, just in case of a change last minute. She did read the exact words I put on the fax and said that our room fit every request. Turns out it was the exact room I used when I created the fax on TP site.

For our 1 night at AKL we got the wing I requested (Zebra) and near elevator (which was the request I entered during online check in) Zebra is not an option so I assume that came from the TP fax.

Can fax requests include rooms at the Swan and Dolphin?
We stayed at the Dolphin last May for a conference. They would not accept early requests by phone or email. I'm not sure if that's standard or just for conferences. But they did take requests at check-in. We checked-in early morning the day before the conference and got a better room than we asked for.

@lentesta

I just clicked "Click here to make a request for this room" on a picture in your room view section. It did not populate a screen to make a note or see the fax. I don't see a place on my TP dashboard to adjust it. Am I missing it? I have something special I would like to request. How should I go about including it? Thanks for everything you do! I've been agonizing over my plans for weeks. I finally subscribed to TP yesterday and completed all my plans in one evening!

Any thoughts on Touring Plans Room Request Fax? I just tried it for the first time and wasn't sure if I'm supposed to wait for some kind of confirmation from TP that the request went through or not. I've been searching their website but haven't been able to find a way to contact them and ask. I'm also under the 5 day mark, so maybe it's too late? I've never used TP for anything before, but have seen posters on here say mostly positive things about it so I thought I'd give it a try.

Thanks in advance for any input or previous experience!
Have used TP Fax request twice, will use again this year. TP did tell me they received my request and explained it was not a guarantee that I would get the exact rooms. If you have started "Your Trip" Dashboard on TP look there and see if there is a note as to the dates they will contact Disney. Named our trip(s) on TP and kept updating as we got ADRs and booked Tours etc. They really are a useful resource for all things WDW!

I've used it 3 times in the last 9 months or so.
--For our August trip we got almost the exact room we asked for (just 1 door down).
--For our pre-cruise January stay we didn't get anything close to what we asked for, but I blame that on the room reservation being messed up. (We booked the room through DCL and we had numerous problems as a result.)
--For our post-cruise January stay we didn't get the room (or even the building) we wanted, but the room we got met our criteria (close to Classic Hall, ground floor) so that was fine by us.
I'll definitely continue using the service.

First you have plan a trip, just enter dates on Touring Plans.
Then select the resort for your trip.
Then you can pick the room and configure the fax
The link is pretty clear on your dashboard once you do those steps.
You'll have to enter your name and confirmation number

Here you can see where the link is located
Here shows before I entered a room.

This shows after, where you can configure the fax

Thank you for you thorough help @AngiTN

It turned out to just be my pop up blocker. You helped me once before with a cookies problem though. I appreciate all your help!

Sorry. It turned out to be my pop up blocker that was the issue.

We just arrived at MCO and received a text that our AoA room is ready early. The room wasn't the first choice listed in my faxed request, but they did fulfill all of my general location requests - we got the same building, floor, and side of the hallway that we requested in the fax. We move to the Poly on Thursday, so we'll see if the fax helps out there, too. So far I think I'll be using it again for our next trip!

Curious, did you give them an arrival time during online check in?

I often wonder if they send the text near to the time entered

Yep - I entered our flight arrival time of 12:00pm. At 10:00am, they sent an email saying my room wasn't quite ready. At 11:23 I got the room number in an email. All of the texts came through at 11:55 when I turned my phone back on after landing.

Haven't decided if I should subscribe to TP or not yet but my question, has anyone used this service if they have multiple rooms? We have four rooms and would like to be close together, one especially is my elderly mom and she is alone in her room at BC. We, of course, would love first floor or full balconies too, but I know that is asking alot. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with the multiple room issue and if it's even possible to notate. Thanks.

I'm playing around with the requests for CBR. I don't need anything specific, I don't care about the view, I don't even care which floor - I'd just really like Aruba 51 or Jamaica 45 because they're the closest standard rooms to the main pool/building. Is there a way to just request a specific building? Do I just go in and edit out the rooms requested and type whatever I want?

I haven't done it myself but you would be able to go in and add each confirmation number in the comments box so they would be aware of your request and which rooms would like to be together. You could even go one step further and note which is your Mothers and indicate that it's most important those are as close to each other as possible. It can't hurt.

When the request is generated it tells them the building. You can further indicate in the text of the email which building you want and indicate that floor/room is not as important as building

We have used the TP fax letter three times now and we have been very pleased with our rooms, the room has either been the exact number or the one right next to it. You can personalize the from fax from TP. I love there room locator on the web site, it really gives you all the room views and categories.
