Torn on Options for Adults-Only Trip

Hi Again! No one's been here for a month, lol, but just thought I'd update that I went with a Gran Destino Tower king room with standard view (FL Res rate), which was a little more than a Dolphin king room. Everyone seems to love staying there (we loved walking through the lobby last summer) and coupled with the fact that we always stay at the Dolphin it was worth a try for the refined decor, bars ,food and change of pace. Excited!
So excited for you! I think you are going to love it. Please update us when you get back so we can hear your take on it. Thinking of going back for another adult only trip. My husband isn’t a Disney freak like me so this gives us best of both worlds.

Hate to throw a wrench into the mix but have you checked Boardwalk? I. Not a huge fan of Swan & Dolphin. However if the rate is much cheaper it’s a great option for an Epcot centric trip. We drive so between the resort fee and parking that’s an extra $79 a night. We stay there when friends meet us because they have a bunch of points but if the difference is only a few dollars more somewhere I would always choose a Disney property. I find the service, cast members, and just Disney feel much more appealing. Last time we stayed at Swan we had a theme park balcony room. The balcony not even big enough to sit and have morning coffee and the view was looking at the Boardwalk. Swan & Dolphin do have excellent dining options though. I realize it’s not important for everyone but for us personally when we go to Disney we want the whole Disney experience. I want to not carry cash or credit card and just use my magic band trivial I know. I know many people who love the Swan & Dolphin I love Beach club but think the Yacht Club is a better choice for Adults Only. Now the Boardwalk is just our favorite resort over there. For years we thought we never wanted to stay there but one trip there was a great deal and we loved it. Great rooms (Inn side just redone) walking home at night all the entertainment on the Boardwalk. Beautiful property

For adult only stays, you can't hardly beat GDT and it's centrally located to the parks. Three Bridges, out on the lake has very good food. Toledo on top of GDT is fantastic as well. We typically Uber in less than 5 minutes to any of the parks outside of MK. We only stayed at AKL or GDT as we were going with all adults for a while. We actually like the fact that it doesn't feel so Disney and there aren't many kids running around.

Oh wow! I think you made a great choice and am excited for you. I think you'll enjoy having an experience at a different resort.

Had to check after you mentioned it and, ya, it's currently over $160 more a night than GDT. We love the Boardwalk too (since we stay at Dolphin a lot), but we happen to have stayed at BWI last summer as well. It was nice and the garden view from our room was beautiful, but with that one already checked off and saving a couple hundred bucks (needed for F&W), it's gonna be GDT! We're also looking forward to the food options at CSR.

Good for you! Any Disney resort is really awesome and more money to spend on F&W is always great. Have an awesome trip

Hey guys, I survived! Let me tell you, the crowds were INSANE this past weekend!! Guessing it was a combination of the Yom Kippur holiday, the opening of the new F&W booths, and MNSSHP at MK, but holy moly, we had to skip getting a lot of things at F&W and some rides because of the lines! :( We even thought a half day trip to AK on Sunday would be a breeze and it was also slammed. Lesson learned.

The DST was great! Seamless check-in/out, beautiful interior as we know, spacious and immaculate room, and we ate at Dahlia Lounge and Toledo. Both great. The only problem was that we didn't have at least 2 more days to enjoy everything a little bit more. As expected, would recommend!
