Ticket Prices Going Up 2/12/17 ~ New Pricing Page 8>>>

Was originally going to wait to buy tickets but the prices went up by substantially more than I anticipated. We're going for 5 days so the price increase was almost $40 per ticket. Used the Mousesavers link to get them for $398 each and bundled Universal tickets for the $10 off combo. Definitely glad I got them now, even though there was slight pain in dropping over $1000 at once o_O

If you bought this ticket as part of a RESORT package (ticket and room, together as one price,) then all you need to do is subtract the current (today) price of a 6-day hopper from the current (today) price of the AP that you want to buy.
You would pay the difference price (plus tax on that difference) for the upgrade.

If you bought this ticket Stand-alone, NOT as part of a RESORT package (ticket and room, together as one price,) then we need to know exactly how much you originally PAID for the ticket in order to determine the cost to upgrade.

I did the former (bolded), I purchased the ticket as part of resort package. So, it may be a wash, since the current price of the 6 day hopper also went up, as did the AP. Or at least it's not as much as an increase as I originally thought. I will check... Thanks for your response!

It looks like UT has increased their prices. I purchased a ticket 2 weeks ago for my granddaughter (child) and paid $375. Today that same ticket is $393.

Though someone, somewhere said, maybe we can expect to start seeing more "drastic" savings offers now - perhaps they're raising the prices significantly, and then are planning to offer sales and specials and discounts that will make people really think they're getting a great deal, in an effort to increase attendance. I could see that.

Ya .. with the now increased prices of the 4-day Magic Your Way ticket, I could see them doing the "4-day 4-park ticket" again (like they are offering this spring).
As it is .. that ticket was a crazy deal IF you wanted to go to each park just once.

So it seems like a few of these tickets' prices remain unchanged when you factor in the $20 online discount, but some others seem to have shot up significantly. I too am very curious about the renewal pricing (especially FL Resident renewal pricing) for APs, given that all the prices I've seen have been for APs have been regular rates.

Also kind of odd how they've reverted back to the old pre-MYW structure of either PH or PH+Water Parks. No more a la carte. It might just be me but this brings back memories of that giant yellow "Ultimate Park Hopper" ticket person/mascot/thing that they used to use in promo videos.

If anyone can suggest the best GS window to go to to handle the upgrade I would be grateful. I know sometimes it's hit or miss.
I'll pinch hit for @ravenclawtrekkie here and add in that your best place is likely a ticket window, rather than GS. They do tickets all day long, and are likely more familiar with the ins and outs of the process. You would be less likely, it seems, to run across a less-experienced CM who may be unaware of the bridging process.

Not being grumpy nor pouring salt into anyone's "wounds." I was just giving the poster a way to funnel her frustration toward Disney, the only way anything will change.

But thanks for the judgment!

No judgement, just a reasonable question. :confused3

Not that the poster I quoted thinks the following...

I just want to clear up the notion of the "online discount". Some think that you will get $20 off the online price. That isn't the case. You will be charged an extra $20 by purchasing at the ticket window. It's in the vein of a surcharge for doing business in person. I've seen some posts that are confused about where it's applied.

Isn't the value of the ticket not lost? If the ticket 'expires', can't you use the price paid to 'upgrade' to a current ticket, albeit more than likely higher priced due to continued price increases?

Yes. I think this was addressed a little further into the thread.

Does the $20 additional charge for purchasing at Guest Services and gate apply to Annual Passes as well? If so, does it apply when bridging using a previously purchased park ticket?

Once UT is sold out, they raise the prices. UT has been sending out email, Facebook
messages etc., for over 2 weeks that prices were increasing.

Disney's site doesn't say anything about APs costing more at the window, so I'm going to say it doesn't apply. The only notation is in regards to multi-day passes, for 3 or more days.

Bridging is being done as in previous years, for the foreseeable future.

Annual passes are the same price online as they are in person. There is no pre-arrival pricing.

I have been following this thread, but IDK if this has been addressed or if no one has seen it yet because they have not yet purchased the new tickets with expiration dates. Will the new ticket types be displayed in MDE like an AP and have the expiration posted under my reservations and tickets? The only time I could see an "expiration" on these other tickets was when they were assigned and it was something arbitrary like 2030.

I only ask because I may buy an UT ticket with no expiration to keep it on hand. Future tickets would be added, with expirations, and I would like to be able to easily differentiate. If I recall, I could not even see an expiration on used tickets for the end of the 14 day window in MDE.
