Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Thanks so much for sharing! Did you enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk?

Villas were beautiful and in great shape. We enjoyed it very much. Wish they had a better selection in the cafe and not just carbs/sweets - yes the deli is there but also very limited selection. Entertainment on the Boardwalk great for an evening stroll. Love the location (I own at BCV).

We were a bit annoyed the time both villas were ready and the mess up with Bell Services. Leaving for babysitting my grandson :).

Water Returns to Stormalong Bay Pool, New Shingles Installed at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

One of the three Stormalong Bay pools at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts has been refilled with water amid an ongoing refurbishment.

A week ago, crews were filling the floor of this pool with sand, a standard for swimming pools. Now it’s full of water, indicating work on the pool is done, although construction materials remain in the area.

Crews continue to prepare the other two pools for new flooring and water. They tore up the concrete flooring of the pools early during the refurbishment.

Disney has also used this opportunity to replacing wall siding and roof shingles on Yacht Club Resort. Since our previous update, more of the siding on this wall facing the lagoon has been replaced, but the nearby roof is still devoid of shingles.

Awesome reporting! Thanks for that.

So glad the Villas were enjoyed! While we have never stayed in a Boardwalk Villa, we really loved our room and view. Yes, the food options are very limited at the Deli. We usually fly in late and while open, not a lot of choices. Hopefully, they will add more menu items for guests in the future. BTW- We can highly recommend the Boardwalk Club Level. It was recommended to us, and it turned out to be nicer than we ever thought! Yes, as you said, it is the location that is so great! Thanks for sharing!

Super excited for this because we booked for the 4th of July week at 11 months and kind of felt like we were rolling the dice a bit that Disney would stay on target! It could still get delayed so I'm not celebrating it like a win just yet though! lol

PS How about them Mets huh!

Thanks for the update and all the great photos!

Unlikely but still hoping for a miracle opening for our early June trip. Does anyone know if the smaller pools are overcrowded with SAB being closed?

Unlikely but still hoping for a miracle opening for our early June trip. Does anyone know if the smaller pools are overcrowded with SAB being closed?

My adult daughters and I used the pool at Yacht Club in the past week at various times of the day. There were very few people using the pool when we were there.

Checking on YC soft refurb- if they finished the club level are they moving onto the next floor down? Do we know the timeframe on finishing? I don’t see any notices from Disney about refurb so was wondering if anyone here had a status update…

The pool at Beach Club Villas (DVC) has been pretty crowded ... most lounges taken the few times I walked through, especially late afternoon when lots of people take a break.

Cl rehab was complete when I was there in March. Pretty nice touch with new rugs, paint color etc…. Exterior work was 100 % a work in progress. Did not see or hear about any other interior work being done at that time.

I think pictures have been posted of the refurb. They were working on the second floor last week. We were on the first in a room that was not updated. But we heard lots of tapping above us. My daughter id'd it as laminate flooring being installed.

We just got back from a week at the Yacht Club. We had room 4214 and our daughter and son-in-law had room 4212. Both rooms were very nice. They had a walk-in shower and we had a bath tub with shower. From our balconies we could see Magic Kingdom fireworks in the distance (only the high fireworks). We were close to the conference center. We were fine with the view as it was very peaceful sitting on the balcony in the evenings. We had Mousekeeping each day of our stay. The photos shared in a previous post is what we also saw of the work on the pool. While walking the corridor between Yacht Club and Beach Club, we could see some water in a part of the pool while there was still much work going on in other sections of the pool. We had dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was excellent. We really enjoyed the dinner. We also had breakfast at Ale & Compass and it was also excellent. All the staff we encountered there were very helpful, friendly and attentive. There was a conference going on and the lobby area was a bit hectic in the mornings and late afternoon. Hubby and I only spent a few hours in the morning at a park and would come back to the room to rest a bit. It's obvious that age and the Florida heat were catching up with us. We would then hop to another park to catch up with our daughter and son-in-law. They did the extended hours for Deluxe at Epcot and were able to do the rides they wanted to do. We all went to the Magic Kingdom extend hours for Deluxe and it was ok. Some of the rides they wanted to go on were down. We had dinner at Tony's, and it was just ok. The garlic bread is good and our server was great. We had a lot of fun with him. We did see people being denied access to the rides as they were scanning magic bands for ride entries. We left at about 11:50 pm and there were still many people hanging around. Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the resort. We would absolutely stay there again.

Staying at YC now. Link to pictures I posted on the CL thread.

On the way to Epcot for dinner yesterday we noticed water in the lazy river section of the pool. I didn’t get a picture but that section is definitely filled. They’re also moving along on the rooms. When we arrived yesterday, we could see plastic & blue tape around the windows in the 2nd floor rooms along the back entrance & in the turret suite. Late afternoon yesterday from our balcony I could see people working in some of the regular rooms on the 2nd floor as well. When we came back to the hotel around 2:30 this afternoon, all the plastic was off rooms & there curtains hanging in all the 2nd floor rooms. We could see someone starting to put plastic on the 1st floor turret suite windows. I didn’t look at other wings of the building to see if there was any work going on.

Edit…well, that’s different. I thought I was just linking to the post but it copied the whole thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sandbags Removed from Stormalong Bay Pool, More New Siding at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

While most of the work at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts is taking place on the Yacht Club side, some scaffolding has been erected on the pool-facing side of the Beach Club Resort. This is likely going to involve similar work as the roof shingle and siding replacement process that is still in progress at the Yacht Club.

White construction walls with potted plants and trees, a worker in a safety vest stands nearby on a sunny day.
As has been the case since Stormalong Bay closed in January, the guest walkway closest to the pool is still blocked by plain white construction walls and some rolling planters.

Construction vehicles and barriers block the entrance to a large, light blue resort building under a cloudy sky.
Moving over to the side of the construction walls, several vehicles are still parked near the Stormalong Bay entrance with various construction tools. A lift is also parked on this side, though the work over by the rocks and slide seems to be mostly completed.

A large building with scaffolding in front, under renovation, with three workers in orange vests nearby.

This side of the Yacht Club Resort is still completely covered in scaffolding. Several of the lower roof sections are still missing shingles.

A resort pool area under construction with scaffolding, palm trees, rocks, and cloudy sky in the background.

As we reported during our previous construction update, Stormalong Bay has had one of its three main pool sections refilled with new water.

Two construction workers in orange vests stand near scaffolding by a pool, with palm trees and a white fence in front.

Construction crew members were working on cleaning and finishing the guest walkway that surrounds the refilled pool section.

A hotel with construction scaffolding and white barriers along a wooden walkway lined with potted plants.
The right side of the main walkway leading toward the main lobby entrance for Disney’s Yacht Club Resort from Stormalong Bay is now completely blocked with white construction walls and more rolling planters. While there had been some walls on this side in the past, they have now been pushed forward and run all the way to the stairs.

A blue sign reads, Ideas come from curiosity.—Walt Disney, with PPG Paints logo at the bottom.Blue plaque on a white wall reads: It’s kind of fun to do the impossible. PPG Paints logo at the bottom.
The walls have blue themed signs with the ship’s wheel-shaped logo for the Yacht Club Resort and the sponsorship logo for PPG Paints. In traditional Walt Disney World fashion, the signs have inspirational quotes like “Ideas come from curiosity” and “It’s kinds of fun to do the impossible,” many of which are attributed to Walt Disney.

Large windows covered in plastic and blue tape on a house under renovation, with scaffolding and bushes nearby.

Around the corner of the construction walls facing Stormalong Bay, it appears most of the siding in this area has been repaired and repainted. The windows are still covered with plastic and painter’s tape.

A bright hallway with wood floors, large windows, and a glass door leading outside with a sign in front.

The doorway leading to this outdoor patio has been marked as “Emergency exit only” with multiple signs blocking the path.

Covered patio with white columns, scaffolding, and a ladder, overlooking a pool and trees outside.

Looking through the nearby windows, the patio is wrapped on all sides by metal scaffolding as crew members continue to replace the roof shingles.

Scaffolding in front of a large house under construction, with roofing materials visible on the steep roof.
The shingle work on a second pointed roof is also visible in the distance. The shingles for this section are almost completely gone, apart from a few remaining patches above the windows.

Covered porch with white columns and railings, brick floor, hanging lanterns, and sheer curtains letting in filtered light.

Around the opposite side of the patio, one walkway allows guests to exit the indoor hall and walk along the outdoor covered path. To keep guests from getting too close to the construction work, the interior side of the scaffolding has been lined with white scrims.

Workers on a lift perform maintenance near white barriers and potted plants on a covered porch area.
Most of this walkway is back open, apart from a section nearest to the exterior wall. This area is still getting the final touches to the siding, so it is blocked with some short barriers.

Workers in orange vests repair or paint a white building behind safety barriers indoors.
Two sections between the white windows still need to be replaced, so crew members were in the process of removing the old siding and exposing the black waterproofing material.

Workers in safety gear renovate an empty pool, carrying buckets and tools near artificial rocks and a lighthouse structure.

Finally, it appears most of the sandbags closest to the unfilled pool sections have been poured out. Most of the bags are now gone, and it appears most of the refurbished pool sections are now covered in a fresh layer of sand. This was the final step we saw when the first pool section was refilled with water, so it is likely these other two sections will also be refilled soon.

Stormalong Bay is expected to remain closed until June 2025, though no exact reopening date has been announced. In the meantime,
