Thanks for the info Joe, I did call the Beach Club twice and got 2 completely different answers about the Jr Suite A. I mentioned specifically both times Room # 2557 so that we would all be talking about the same room, but one told me the living area was seperate and the other told me it wasn't.

P.S. I beleive LaVar Burton is an actor that was on Star Trek The Next Generation. He was the guy with the eye piece over his eyes. I think his name was Jordie (I don't know if that is spelled right)

organicb..fyi... The hair dryers in the rooms don't really work that well, I have long hair that takes quite a long time to dry with my hairdryer, I tried to use the ones there and they just didn't blow well, if you hair drys fairly easily they will be fine.

LaVar Burton was the young adult main character in the mini series Roots. He also appeared on Reading Rainbow for awhile. And yes, he did play Jordi on Star Trek.

Hi everyone,

Since we were able to get an AP discount on a concierge waterview room at the BC we decided to give it a try. Are all these rooms located on the fifth floor? Are there any better rooms(waterview concierge) that we should request? I have stayed at the BC before and know the setup of the hotel but am not familiar with the fifth floor. Do all of these rooms have a full balcony( they should for the price they charge, even with a discount!)?

I would also love to hear anyone's comments about the Concierge lounge including where it is located and how good the food is. Does it have a view of anything? a big screen TV? Whew I have so many questions:) Thanks again

I'm another one who feels the YC concierge is much better than the Poly! we stayed at both twice, and the last time was a split b/w YC and Poly concierge, we stayed the first 6 nights at YC concierge, and then moved to the Poly concierge for 8 nights, th ewhole time at the Poly, we wished we were back at the YC, dont ask me why we didnt move back, we should have!!! the YC concierge is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

Boardwalk Tigger, all of the concierge rooms at the BC are on the 5th floor, and no they do not all have full balconies, so make sure you request one!!! the lounge is lovely, it has a nice TV, not a huge one though, and some comfy couches. the view from the lounge is nothing special, it is in the front, not of crescent lake. I did not stay at BC concierg, but I had a cm take me there to visit it and look around while we were staying at YC concierge this past Nov. it seemed really nice, and the staff seemed just as wonderful as the YC! you'll love it!!! just make sure to request full balcony!!! :)

Joe or anyone..... Does anyone know about the rehab that is going to be going on this spring and summer. Does anyone know exact dates? Are they going to be closing portions of the resort? I have a ressie at the end of September should I be worried?

I've read most of this thread, but I still have ?'s. Has anyone stayed in the room on the 4th floor with the HUGE balcony at BC? How about pictures of the view from there? Also, I'd like info on vow renewal at the BC. Disney site only offers packages. I already have tickets. Any pics of Wedding pavilion at BC? Thanks for any info you might have.

What a great site! SO much info!

Here's my question - has anyone staying in BC concierge ever been upgraded to a Jr suite or anything? We will be there beginning of May, 5 of us total - myself, DH, DD (9), DS (4), and my Mom. I booked a waterview concierge with the AP discount. Would LOVE to get a room with a little more elbow room. Anybody ever actually fax in a request for an upgrade?

Wow, I would like to know the same thing! We are going to be a the BC next week in a waterview concierge room.

(I will post when I get back about the concierge rooms and service.)

Just a little FYI:

The Beach Club Villas went on sale on Sunday, Feb 3rd. The Villas are scheduled to open August 1st. Reservations will open March 6th for DVC members. You may be able to make reservations now for cash stays. Rates should be the same as VWL or BWV. There are some recent construction pictures recently posted (2/7) at www.wdwmagic.com.

I didn't realize how GREEN the BCV was going to be!! I thought it would be lighter, almost pastel-like, according to the sign!! Ah well...

Does anyone know if the BCV can use the pool at the BC/YC?

Also, if you don't want a character breakfast, and can't get into Beaches and Cream for breakfast, is there any other place at BC/YC to eat breakfast?

I wish they would make Beaches and Cream larger.

Thanks!

This is something that my family and I have been concerned about. During our last 2 stays at the YC, which included Labor Day Weekend, the pool was so crowded it was awful. We quickly realized that many people at the pool were not even staying at the resort. We saw room keys being passed over the gate, overheard one guy saying that he was having his child's birthday party at the pool, and he put towels on about 20 chairs early in the day, and overheard another group of locals who had one room but easily had 20 people at the pool. Not only did they not belong there, but they practically sat on top of us. The pool staff checked for id the following day and the situation improved but I can't imagine what the crowds will be like if the Villas have use of the pool also. I never thought I would say this , but if this is the case, we will stay elsewhere.

Yes, the Villas will have use of the pool. That is one of the reasons why many people are purchasing at the BC Villas. They are building a quiet pool at the BC Villas, so that may cut down on some traffic. Currently, anyone staying at any DVC property on points is allowed to "pool hop" at any WDW resort. There is rumor that this may stop once the BC Villas open up to avoid some of the traffic at SAB. But I have a feeling that a lot of the traffic at SAB is locals.

WOW! Stumbled onto this amazing site after researching WDW for months ... my search had led me to YC/BC ... can't even think about staying anywhere else.

However, because of the rate exchange on our lousy CDN dollar, will be splitting our 10 day vacation with 5 days at an on-site, non-Disney hotel, capped off by 5 days at YC or BC.

Can anyone out there help with info on concierge ... I know there's been loads of info, but I would really like to know if it's really worth the extra $100/day I've been quoted.

1. Would a family of 5 spend the equivalent on continental breakfast each day?
2. Are there more substantial food items available at lunch/dinner other than crackers and cheese type snacks?
3. Are the food offerings the same at both YC and BC concierge?
Can't make up my mind on which resort .

Also, does anyone know if quiet pools are open after SOB closes at 7 pm ... my kids would be complaining all night long if they couldn't go for a swim. THANKS EVERYONE !

P.S. Call me crazy, but what does LOL mean??!!!

Dreamin,

Concierge is not a substitute for dining. It is great to be able to grab a quick continental breakfast, but you really can't substitute the other offerings for dining the rest of the day. The service is lovely, but if you are concerned about getting your money's worth, I say grab the continental breakfast for 5 at Beaches and Cream for roughly $25 and spend the other $75 by adding it to your dinner budget and enjoy yourself. My family and I did not feel that the concierge level was worth it for us, as we make our priority seatings before we leave, are not very high maintenance, and also found that depending on who is working on the concierge level, the assistance and treatment can be quite varied. We prefer to spend the extra $100 in other ways. Quite frankly other than grabbing a cold drink on the way to our rooms and having the breakfast, we did not use the lounge.
