We toured the YC in 2000 and noticed a crowded pool area BUT ALSO NOTICED THAT CAST MEMBERS WERE CHECKING IDs and asking people (more than a few) to exit the area. This impressed us very much and was a key in our deciding that YC concierge will be our next site stay.

Thanks for the info RAV ... think I'd rather spend $100 toward real meals, instead of on concierge.

Does anyone know whether construction has ended at BCVillas or what stage they are at ? Not interested in buying, just want to know if construction will disrupt the relaxin' vacation I'm seeking.

Finally, a word of advice to any fellow Canucks out there ... my travel agent friend phoned Disney (not sure which number) and they said 5 people not allowed in YC or BC room even with day bed, so they wouldn't even provide a quote. I phoned CRO myself tonight and there was no problem at all. Make sure you ask for Canadian Rate (Code CCM) and you'll get a great deal ... paying $259 US for YC Waterview (reg.$440) for peak season, end of March ... will be cheaper if you can get a standard room available on your dates ... valid until April 20th I think. Good Luck!

Now I just hope I made the right choice.

Beach Club Villas will open on August 1st so construction is going on. I believe most of the construction is now indoors getting the rooms, lobby, etc ready.

Anyone out there with a recent YC trip report? Looking for recent info on meals and prices in the area, mostly breakfasts and dinners.

Also wondering since attendance levels seem to be high going into the spring break peak season, are early entries and E-nights being restored?

Anyone have any info on character caravans at YC or BC?

Thanks again for the help!:smooth:

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what type of beds are in the Lagoon view concierge room at the YC and if there is one of these rooms that you can actually see the Illuminations fireworks from???

Hi Ellieb:wave: We stayed in a wonderful room 5217 in the YC LV Concierge level (Nov/Dec 2001) visit. Our room had 2 queen beds and a Daybed. We also had the most amazing direct view of Illuminations. We just loved this room. I could not have asked for a more wonderful stay.:)

Last night I spent hours reading ALL 44 pages of this amazing thread. Since I have a reservation for the BC Concierge in July, I was soaking in all the information - I am sure I will have to refer back often for more information. I am lucky because I get to stay in the concierge room for a 50% off castmember discount (my daughter is in the college program).

Here is my question:
When I looked at the floor plans on page one, and read all the replies, it sounded like the rooms with IllumiNations views were only in the YC - is that accurate? If I am in the BC, I could still have a fireworks view, right? I really don't want to ask questions that were already answered, but I THINK I looked pretty thoroughly at the information.

Thanks for a great forum - I rated you a definite 5 stars!!:sunny:

Joe Cool and Others--
This has been such a great FAQ for the BC/YC and has helped a lot in planning a BC vacation for 5 people with my mom! I gave it 5 stars just so you know ***** hehe ;) Anyway, we'll be leaving for the BC tomorrow (yea) and I couldn't be more excited! Here are a few of my questions:

1) How late does the Stormalong Bay pool stay open in the evening? Do hours change according to weather/day/etc...?

2) Does anyone know how crowded this time of year is? I know it just became peak season but is there a fairly good possibility of an upgrade from a standard view room to a water view? My mom already made requests of what you said about great standard rooms.

3) When in the day do you suggest one should check in for the greatest possibility of an upgrade or just good room location?

**I'm sure I have more questions but these are all that come to my mind as of now. I'm sorry if these questions have already been gone over or answered, but it is hard for me to soak every word in on over 40 pages of posts!! ~lol~ Thanks again, JC and everyone else who's pitched in answering questions on this FAQ!!

From an earlier post:
Joe or anyone..... Does anyone know about the rehab that is going to be going on this spring and summer. Does anyone know exact dates? Are they going to be closing portions of the resort? I have a ressie at the end of September should I be worried?

Does anyone know what's going on? I just checked on resies at the Yacht Club for the beginning of August. There are no rooms available. There was no problem getting into the Beach Club. Any information would be appreciated! :p

Call the YC directly and ask for the Manager; he/she's got to know whether or not there will be a refurbishment. The most bally-hooed news about refurbishment that's really a GO is for the Swan & Dolphin that is to take place this year.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hELLO!!!............I'LL BE AT THE BC AT BEGINNING OF MAY....JUST WONDERING IF THEY WLL BE DOING ANY REHABS AT THAT TIME???......ALSO, I BOOKED A STANDARD ROOM, AND WONDERED IF ANYONE HAS EVER NOT BEEN ABLE TO UPGRADE TO WATER VIEW AT CHECK-IN.....ALSO, I REMEMBER READING ON THIS SITE PREV ABOUT THE COMFORTERS NOT BEING CHANGED OFTEN, WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT???.....CAN I JUST REQUEST A FRESH COMFORTER ALONG W/FRESH CLEAN LINENS & PILLOWCASES WHEN I CHECK-IN OR SHOULD I DO THAT AHEAD OF TIME....I USE MY COMFORTER WHN I'M AWAY, I HATE TO BE COLD!!! (W/AC ON)

We are staying at BC in a few weeks and we will have a car with us - can someone tell me if it is better to drive to certain parks or to take WDW transportation - I am concerned mainly about the time to return to BC at the end of the day - do you have to wait a long time for bus transportation?

I have always found BC/YC transportation to be pretty efficient. Epcot is a short walk, the ferries to MGM are great, and I have no complaints about buses to MKM either. One reason I I feel that Boardwalk/Epcot resorts are the best is because transportation is so trouble-free.

Have fun! Nicole
