I had a spouse like that, but not any more. Turns out Disney wasn't the only thing we didn't agree on. After about 5 (maybe 6) amazing trips ( in the early 2000's) with just me and the kids, he finally decided he was coming along on a joint trip with my brother's family. He started the trip by flopping down on the bed and saying "This isn't much of a vacation" it went downhill from there.DH says it's "OK", but unless we're going with the DGDs, he doesn't want to go. And when Disney gets any negative press, he usually points it out. We're DVC members, but unless it's a trip to DHHIR, he'll "stay home and cat-sit". Anyone else have a spouse like that? Almost all my trips have become solo trips as a result.
I say, if he respects your love of Disney, and you respect his ambivalence about Disney, then you're doing okay. Accept and appreciate that you have a "stay home and cat sitter". Every couple doesn't have to be joined at the hip, you can both be your own people and still love and respect one another. I love my solo trips now that I'm retired. I also love it when my adult kids or other family members come with me. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
