The only thing I've heard you say you want to make that has nothing to do with Disney are leggings and the HP bag. But since it's not a bag you're making I'm guessing you're making leggings.
What is most common to eat on Christmas Eve in the US? My family eat roast pork and pork ribs. In other parts of Norway people have cod, lamb ribs or cod that has been conserved in caustic soda (it's called Lutefisk)
And we open our Christmas presents in the evening on the 24th. I know you open your Christmas presents in the morning on the 25th.
Nope... Not leggings... Hehehe - I will try to post pictures of what I am making today - I would have done it yesterday, but I couldn't get the lighting right in my sewing room, and my pictures were so dark. Too many cloudy days here now.
I have heard of lutefisk - I have never had it though - to my knowledge. Usually, we open all of our gifts to/from each other the night of the 24th - we always have appetizers during the day and then we have dinner together and open gifts after. The only gifts we open on the 25th are gifts from others and Santa - but Santa is not coming this year... So, we will just open gifts from others on Christmas morning.
What about totally different for Christmas and do crock pot Fajita's? (I truly have to be in the mood to eat meatloaf. )
Hahahaha... I am guessing you really don't like meatloaf? LOL That does sound good - but I've already purchased groceries for meatloaf - and it's one of our favorites. Maybe you haven't found a good recipe yet? We have ours - always - with baked potatoes and sour cream... There's something about that combo that goes well together... but I am also one of those people that enjoys most of my food mixed (some people don't like theirs touching at all - but I am not like that). My "staple" meatloaf recipe is in the Betty Crocker cookbook - I do very few edits to that one... In recent years, I've also taken out the breadcrumbs and I just use meat - it works just fine. Josh's meatloaf is different each time - and at the end he wraps it in bacon... Nothing can beat bacon wrapped meatloaf, IMO.

If you ever make it to MN - let me know - we will have you over for some of Josh's meatloaf... Or when we go to TN - we'll have to try and do it there - it would be fun.
I have to show you this video where Americans tries Norwegian Christmas food
LOL... I understand some of their reactions. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my gosh, change of plans again... DH's new job won't let him have the days off so I'll be staying with my mom at Yacht Club and I'll be switching our existing reservations to March! I was so upset yesterday - ugly cry and everything - but I think I'm OK now... lol Gotta keep things in perspective! I kind of feel like how you did not traveling with your girls - Disney is our special place so not having DH at my race makes me sad.
On another note, I love your tree! Nice job!
Oh no!!! That is such a bummer! I am glad you are OK now - but I totally understand. You will do great and you will have lots of fun. I know - the first time I went without DH, it was hard... but - it turned into the best thing ever, because I learned that I *could* travel alone, and I was hooked... So, you never know - this could be the start of a new adventure for you... Nothing wrong with a little more Disney in one's life.
Yummy, shrimp alfredo sounds good! The holidays are fun to try something new! Do you make homemade appetizers - we always do a mix lol.
I thought so too - but the family vetoed me... Even though we just had it, they all insisted on lasagna...
Yes - I do almost all home made appetizers... I always try to do a few of the same things, and a few different ones too... This year I am doing my traditional cheese ball/crackers, and "crack bread" - you can pinterest the recipe... I am going to do my best to only *try* this - but it looked so good, I just have to make it. Then, I purchased a tin of cookies to set out - nothing exciting, but something on the side. For dinner - it will be lasagna... Shoot that reminds me - I forgot to buy bread for garlic bread... i better do that today. Christmas morning - I am trying a new recipe - it's called french toast bake... It looks delicious. Yup - my menu for Christmas Eve/Christmas day is almost all horrible, but it will be fun, I will enjoy it and move on.

I had a really nice day yesterday...
I worked out right away...
Then I headed out grocery shopping... I did get a few non-grocery items... Target has their portable MyCharge cell phone chargers (I use these a lot in WDW) for 30% off, plus I had a $5 off coupon that was in the paper a few weeks ago... I was able to get a new charger to add to my pile for $4.50 after all of my discounts.

I was pretty happy with that price. It's a small charger, but better than nothing.

I also found Allison a set of luggage on clearance for $41... It's a cheapo set, and Josh hasn't looked at it yet, so we haven't decided if we are keeping it or not? But I was *thinking* I could monogram the front pocket for her - I looked at it when I got home, and the front pocket unzips all the way - so I could theoretically hoop it and put it in my embroidery machine - it would mean me holding it, so it stays in the right place and doesn't shift - but I think I could make it work.

The only thing, is we were planning to purchase a nice Vera Bradely luggage set for her, for her graduation... So, if we keep this, we'll not do that. We just need to decide how much $$ we want to invest in luggage for her.... $41... Or $hundreds?
Once I was done grocery shopping, I headed home... I had a few hours to kill before I had to pick V up from school... So, I worked on this... It's going to be a quilted wall hanging. I found the pattern online a few weeks ago - and i just loved it. I have this swirly Christmas tree as a small embroidery file, and it's one of my favorites... When I found this wall hanging - I just knew I wanted to make it for myself to hang behind my couch during the holidays... Eventually - I'd like to transform my house during the holidays - since I don't have anything better to do with my time. LOL Here's the link to the pattern I used... I definitely like the one on the pattern better - I think she used a much different applique technique than I did, and i like her's better, but I decided to stick with what I know. Anyways - I finished all of the applique yesterday, now I need to figure out how to quilt the darn thing... I quilt bags all the time - but this is soooo different.
Oh - the pattern:

Then I ran to get Victoria... We did a little bit of last minute shopping at Kohls and Ulta... Then we went out for dinner... It was good.
We didn't get home until late. Allison picked up a shift at work last night, so I didn't even see her all day... Except to watch her carry this out of the school to the bus... I was trying to flag her down to tell her to put it in the car, so she didn't have to try to maneuver it on the bus, but she didn't see me sitting there, and I didn't want to honk my horn and scare all the kids walking in front of my car... Anyways... Super proud of her - she has been working on this project for her Design & Housing class for a while now... Drawing the concept and executing... She pulled it off fabulously - so I need to share. :

So amazed at all the little details... Love the trees, and the windows - even the chimney made out of peanuts... Just super cute! As you can see - she took 1st place, but I am not sure in what? LOL If it was only her class or among all of the Design and Housing classes?
So super proud of this project, and her "eye" for detail.
Finally - one last photo... Allison and I with my Grandmother on Sunday, my aunt shared this picture with me - and i just love it, it's a great picture of the 3 of us... I would love to somehow edit my aunts out of the background - not that I don't love them or want them there, but it would just be a better picture that way.

I may try to do that when I find I have oodles of time on my hands.
So, that's about all...
I work at Target today - all day... I will come home and then Allison will take my car right to work herself. So, once I get home, I plan to start making anything I can make ahead for tomorrow and Christmas Day, and cleaning up the house as I go along... Josh works all day tomorrow - so I will have all day tomorrow to work on this too. Sadly - I don't think I will get my new wall hanging done in time for Christmas, but we'll see.
I do have a couple of small Disney updates - but I will save those for after the holiday.
If I don't see you again before Christmas - I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday... Travel safe and enjoy your family and friends. Merry Christmas.
