~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

Curio and china cabinet both look amazing. My china is in china bags in the drawer part of my china cabinet.
Josh and Allison brought home makings for Lasagna, so they made lasagna for dinner – that was nice of them.
Dinner always taste better when someone else cooks it? Do you eat Lasagna? Pasta is the one thing that I miss when i'm not eating wheat.
So, now it’s cheaper.
Cheaper is always better

Question... For Victoria's trip... I was just on the WDW website and I saw that they had "dining with an imagineer"... Has anyone ever done this? What did you think? Victoria hopes to one day be an Imagineer - so I thought it might be fun for her to "pick their brain" a little?

First off happy anniversary!!

I love what you did with your tree! I wish I could do something like that but we have such a hodgepodge of ornaments that nothing I have even remotely goes together lol The fact that your tree is like 2 feet off the ground would probably be great for me as well due to the fact that I had to do this with my tree:

ngx2zl.jpg

because my dogs were gnawing at the branches! lol

I don't think your curio cabinet looks too crowded at all. I think you did a great job with displaying everything. Same with the china cabinet. I dont own china and I have no idea how to display it lol but I think what you did looks great!

Good thing you called about your Towne car. No double paymens AND an extra discount! score!

I cant believe your next trip is already almost here! Its always such a relief to have your trip paid off. I hope you have good luck getting the FP+ you want.

Your tree turned our gorgeous. You and your girls are blessed with so much artistic ability!

Happy Anniversary to you and Josh!!!

That really is a huge curio cabinet, but it looks like to filled in nicely. I think your china display looks great...but then again, I am no expert. LOL! We did all our heavy cleaning and sprucing up around the house this weekend to get ready for Christmas, too.

Your tree is gorgeous! We had the same problem with a short tree once and put it on cement blocks with a wood top. We always went and cut our own, but this place was newer and the trees we liked were kind of small yet. So we tramped around forever looking for one we liked. That was the last year for a fresh tree and our kids were getting older and tired of going out to buy one anyway. Hard to believe it's almost time for your next trip. I'm also a little worried about making fast passes as we always stay off site. We have a couple of dining reservations made though. We will be there for almost a whole month starting at the end of Feb. We are going to hit Disney for a few days before my boys fly down. They have no desire to do Disney so we are doing Universal with them and Disney again when my daughter's family comes at the end. We are also getting annual passes as we plan to go again next year and it really helps with the free parking and now free pictures too.

Happy anniversary!
Robyn

I love your tree, so pretty! And that polka dot ribbon is beautiful, glad you overruled the girls.

I love how you did the display in both cabinets, very nice.

Yay for the trip being paid off! That is such a wonderful feeling for sure.

I have not but I've read several TRs where people have done it and had a wonderful time. I wish I could remember where I read it so I could give you a link.

Your Christmas tree and Nativ set look great.
The curio looks huge.

How great that you got the Towncar sorted and now have paid the trip in full.

I had a great time yesterday. We talked about going to St.Peterburg in Russia. So when I got home I started to google to find out how much it would cost. I didn't have the time yesterday to find out about visa so I did that today. It is not an easy thing to get a visa to Russia. Ulf read in a guide book that getting the visa is a really turn off for going to Russia. So many people ends up not going because it's just too difficult.
When I drove home there was a small storm outside. So it was not fun driving home the 15 minute drive. It has snowed a lot here lately. We now have 12 inches of snow on the ground.

Go to the Disney restaurants forum and search "dining with imagineer" and you will find a couple threads that should be helpful. It sounds like people really enjoy them. I was surprised that they were so reasonable, at least by Disney standards.

I love your collection of goodies. Everything is really beautiful. The china looks great in the cabinet as well - honestly I wouldn't change a thing!

Oh booking FPs is exciting!!!! And that's great you got the deal on the car service. I bet you and Allison are starting to get more and more excited! :)

Your collection looks very nice in the new cabinet. We have a clock like that. I bet you are glad that you have that job finished.

Thank you – it is a relief to have it all done, but I still think it’s large… However – it looks better with stuff in it vs. empty… So, we’ll see.

The clock is from my maternal Grandparent’s house before they sold it, I actually just received it a few months ago, since I wasn’t able to go up and pick out my own item, one of my aunts chose it for me. :lovestruc

I agree… I don’t eat a lot of noodles at all… Buuuut… I’ve also learned – there are some times when it just isn’t worth it to make a stink - granted I don’t have the harsh allergies to wheat like some people do – annoyance, yes, but not allergy… So, sometimes it’s just easier to eat that meal and enjoy it, than it is to refuse it – especially when my DH and DD go through all the trouble to make an anniversary dinner for me. :lovestruc

I agree – especially when you can get a deal when on vacation at WDW. LOL

Thanks! It was nice.

Thank you- it was fun decorating it!

I love your tree too!!! It’s beautiful! Hahahaha…. Maybe everyone needs a tree that’s 2 ft off the ground? :scratchin I”ll start that fad. LOL

Thanks – it wasn’t easy getting everything in there… I am not sure how I managed to squish it all into my China cabinet for all these years? Thanks – I have no idea what I am doing with the China – and with the doors closed, I really don’t even see it in there, so I am sure it’s fine. If it didn’t have beveled glass doors – like some China cabinets do – then it might be a different story?

I k now – I wasn’t going to – I just assumed that since I didn’t get a confirmation email and I didn’t make a payment – that I didn’t have a valid reservation. Glad I checked.

I am excited to go again – but it’s a little strange, for sure. I usually only go once per calendar year, no less that 12 months apart – so to be going again, less than 60 days after I left – well, it’s a little strange.

Your tree turned our gorgeous. You and your girls are blessed with so much artistic ability!

Happy Anniversary to you and Josh!!!

Thanks!!! I honestly had no idea what I was doing – I was pinning Christmas Trees for the last 2 weeks like crazy. But I am glad we did it and had fun doing it.

Thank you! :lovestruc

It is huge – but yah… I guess I am just happy to have somewhere to put all of my stuff. ::yes:: I am still working on cleaning and organizing… Right now – I have every DVD we own on the living room floor, in an effort to sort and hopefully get rid of some of the excess. Let’s just say that the “keep” pile is HUGE and the “get rid of” pile is smaller than I’d like. After the holidays – we really need to go out and purchase some sort of console cabinet for under the TV… Right now, I have a blanket chest under it – which works fine to put our equipment on, but there is no DVD storage… I have no idea what to do with the DVDs meanwhile? :scratchin Boxing them up, I guess?

Thanks! See… I knew that others had done it. LOL It doesn’t look that bad and having a real tree – with it high up like this – it’s much easier to water. :thumbsup2 That’s kind of how our tree farm was getting – so the last 2 years, we’ve purchased from a lot. I don’t like doing it that way, I’d prefer to cut our own.

I am excited for our next trip – it will come quickly after we get through the holidays. I am a bit worried about FPs… but I think it will be OK – I know Alli won’t be heartbroken if we don’t ride 7DMT – but I do want to try for an evening one, it was much more fun riding at night. You are going to have an AMAZING trip!!!! Eeep – for one whole month – exciting!!!! You’ll definitely get to go at your own pace and really enjoy being there! Then to have all of your family there at one time or another – that’s awesome too!!! I sure hope you do a TR for that one!

Thanks! It was a nice day. :lovestruc

I love your tree, so pretty! And that polka dot ribbon is beautiful, glad you overruled the girls.

I love how you did the display in both cabinets, very nice.

Yay for the trip being paid off! That is such a wonderful feeling for sure.

Thanks!!! I looked for more last night – and it was all gone. I hope they get some in next year, so I can get more.

Thanks! It was a little difficult – but I was able to get it done.

I know – it’s such a relief!!!!

I have not but I've read several TRs where people have done it and had a wonderful time. I wish I could remember where I read it so I could give you a link.

I will go investigate… With all this extra time I have… LOL In all seriousness – this is my last week, then I am off for Christmas break… Which means I get to work on my HP bag! :woohoo:

Your Christmas tree and Nativ set look great.

Yup… I still have to pay everyone – but the $$ is patiently waiting in savings for me. :thumbsup2

That would be so much fun!!! I sure hope you are able to go there one day – it looks like such a beautiful city!

I am glad that you got home safely!!! Stay warm!!! No more snow here – what we had melted, now we are getting lots of rain – everything is a muddy mess. Sigh.

Go to the Disney restaurants forum and search "dining with imagineer" and you will find a couple threads that should be helpful. It sounds like people really enjoy them. I was surprised that they were so reasonable, at least by Disney standards.

Oooh – I forgot about that section! I will do that. I can come to The Dis for weeks on end, and only make it to the TR section. LOL

I love your collection of goodies. Everything is really beautiful. The china looks great in the cabinet as well - honestly I wouldn't change a thing!

Thanks! It was hard getting it all in there – but I am happy with it overall. ::yes::

We are starting to get excited – but to be honest, we are just trying to get through the holidays… Once the holidays are over – then we will really get excited. :woohoo:

******************************************************************************************

I had a decent day yesterday…

I was organizing DVDs as the girls were leaving for school… And I never got back to it – so my entire living room floor is full of DVD piles. I will get them packed up this morning. I was hoping to get rid of more than I have designated, but it doesn’t look like I will.

Then I worked out.

I went straight up to work upstairs – I am almost finished with last week’s order – just one last thing to do. It’s not uncommon for my orders to drift into the following Monday like this.

I had an appointment yesterday afternoon and the girls wanted to go to that side of town… So, I picked them up from school and they came with me.

While we were over there – we did a bit of shopping. We had dinner at Chipotle, since Josh was working late, then I came home and made myself a pair of leggings for the trip. I am not very happy with them – the fabric I ordered is quite crappy… They are black leggings with ¼” white dots on them… but since the black is “painted” on to the white knit – when you stretch it, even a little bit, you see the white inside the ribs – if that makes sense? But I paid a lot of $$ for the fabric and I don’t have the time to reorder and make more. I figured – I am only wearing these with longer shirts to cover my bum – so it should be OK. They fit well, and I made them a hair bigger, so they didn’t stretch and show the white too much. I’ll try to get a picture later. Overall, they will work, but just not the quality I wanted. I love the pattern I used though – and since there is a good fabric maker who has red with white dots – I am tempted to do a pair of those too. :scratchin

I also chatted with my neighbors last night… We decided to get together for the holidays and have coffee/dessert for breakfast on Friday morning… Throw my diet to the wolves right away in the morning – but it will be worth it, we have not made the time to get together in quite a while. It should be fun!

Today… I will be starting my last custom order before I take Christmas break… I am hoping this one doesn’t stray into the weekend – like I’ve been allowing a lot lately.

I also have my Tuesday evening appointment tonight… So, I’ll be picking the girls up from school again.

That’s about all. I hope you all have a marvelous day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all! :grouphug:

I can't wait to see a picture of the leggings. I want to make my girls PJ pants/ shorts - but i don't have a clue how to look for patterns That would work for us. I did make one of my girls lounge pants about 2 years ago, but i could not figure out how to enlarge the pattern for my other DD.

I saw the leggings on facebook. They look great. You are so talented.

Here it's still snowing, but they say it's going to rain this coming weekend. I'm NOT looking forward to that because then we will have ice everywhere again. This morning we had a little over 22 inches of snow.

The tree is beautiful! I love the topper. And the color theme. And the decorations. :) It's all perfect together.
Your curio cabinet looks very nice. My husbands parents are always trying to give us furniture. My MIL tried to give me the 2 curio cabinets she had her Emmett Kelly clown collection in. I just didn't have anywhere to put them. Plus I don't really own anything curio cabinet worthy lol. It's funny how parents do that. I'm sure I will do that to. :)
Have a great day!

We are starting to get excited – but to be honest, we are just trying to get through the holidays… Once the holidays are over – then we will really get excited. :woohoo:
Oh I know what you mean. The holidays while very fun, can get stressful sometimes. ::yes::

Looking forward to seeing the leggings! Are you only planning on using them for one outfit on the trip, or multiple?

We haven't dined with an Imagineer, but I've heard Joe and Ashley from See Ya Reel Soon talk about doing it a few times. If they think it's a good idea, I trust them, lol.

Oh wow, polka dot leggings! Cannot wait to see the outfits you put together with those!!!

Me too! LOL I actually just ordered more dot fabric the other day – it probably won’t ship until after Christmas, but I am told that the quality is much better – so I am giving it a try. I am excited about these though, I think they will be fun. There may, or may not, have been red dot in the order too? :scratchin

Well, I really like this one pattern from Patterns for Pirates, this one is called Peg Legs… They also have another, which is Pilazzo Pants – an d many people rave about those too… Maybe try there. Personally – I prefer to buy patterns that I can print at home, it’s just easier and immediate gratification. I believe both of these patterns come in adult and children’s sizes.

Thanks – I am not very happy with the fabric quality on them, but I think I’ve remedied that by ordering different fabric. LOL I am hoping it’s here before I get off of Christmas break – but they go together so quickly – it’s OK if it isn’t.

We are all rain right now – I saw pictures from family north of me, who have beautiful Christmas snow right now – not us – we are all mud at the moment. The dogs love it though. :scratchin

Thank you – I am so happy with it this year… In the end, I am glad the girls talked me into doing something different. Next year – once Cooper doesn’t need his kennel (I hope) – I am planning to do a second smaller/fake tree in the dining room – in the corner next to my mantel – which will have some of the girls’ sentimental ornaments. But I think this “professionally decorated” look is here to stay for the living room… I’ve never just sat in my living room to stare at a tree like I have this year. It was so much fun!

Thank you… Yes – it’s frustrating. Had I been there, I think I could have told him no… but Josh didn’t. So, here we are. I think we’ve made it work? Thankfully it wasn’t any bigger than what it was though.

Thanks!!! Same to you! :lovestruc

Oh I know what you mean. The holidays while very fun, can get stressful sometimes.

Looking forward to seeing the leggings! Are you only planning on using them for one outfit on the trip, or multiple?

I know – it’s crazy – I love it, but at the same time… Ya know? LOL

I am not sure yet? I have 2 pairs of black capri leggings and 1 pair of gray capri leggings to be packed. Now I have the black dotted ones. I may/may not have ordered fabric to make red/white dotted leggings, as well? :scratchin So, I really need to get moving on some outfit planning over the next week or two. I will say – I really, really, really enjoyed wearing my leggings on my November trip… They were comfortable & semi-flattering, and they were perfect for the weather… I just need to make sure I have enough shirts to cover my bum – I have a couple of flowy-type ones, but I don’t like how those get “tangled” in my bags… So, I am still searching for better ones… Banded bottom short sleeveed tops seem to be what I am most looking for and having a hard time this time of year. :thumbsup2

Hey D! don't feel alone in the DVD problem I'm in the same boat….no one to blame except me!! I'm seriously considering http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1HNGYWKGKPM0C&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl

to be able to cut down the amount of space the DVDs use…keeping movies somewhat sorted. I just can't decide!

I will look into that… I need to do something. :scratchin Right now, I have all of our DVDs in boxes and bins… Currently they are sitting in front of our curio cabinet – but I think I may move them down to the basement just for the holidays, so we have more space in the living room. After the holidays are over – I will start to look for solutions to our DVD problem. LOL

We haven't dined with an Imagineer, but I've heard Joe and Ashley from See Ya Reel Soon talk about doing it a few times. If they think it's a good idea, I trust them, lol.

Thanks!!! Yes – I don’t watch them, but Suzi, Mo and Ariana do – so I do respect their opinion. ::yes:: I guess I’ll be looking more into this? :lovestruc

****************************************************************************

Sorry I didn’t check in yesterday… It’s been a busy few days here.

So, I have a photo of my leggings for you all… If you look very closely at my left knee – you can see where the fabric pulls because my leg is slightly bent, so then you can kind of see what I am talking about. I did post about this in a FB group I belong to – and they recommended someone else for fabric – so I placed another order, and hopefully it arrives before my Christmas break is over. This order may or may not have included red dot, as well. :scratchin

20151215_083542.jpg

Also – the other night, V and I went to Target... We never go there. LOL And she just had to try this on… Hehehehe… She will kill me if she knew I posted this…

20151215_150000.jpg

Hmmm… What else?

Nothing much…

I received this in the mail the other day… I am kind of afraid to put it on my car though – I am afraid it’s a hot commodity, and someone may try to steal it? So, I will hang it somewhere – not sure where yet? I just wish it was a decal vs. a magnet.

20151216_064622.jpg

Yesterday, I realized – once I finish this current custom order, I am off of work in my sewing room for 2 weeks! :woohoo: I am very excited about this! I thought I’d only taken 1 week off for Christmas… Of course – during this time, I will be working on my Harry Potter bag for our trip… And hopefully working on some leggings too. :woohoo:

Today… I’ll be working out this morning… And eating well. My eating wasn’t very good yesterday and I was a bit down in the dumps about it. But like I tell everyone, my very next meal (dinner last night) – I made sure it was on point, so right back at it. ::yes:: I saw a picture of myself I’d posted on FB a year ago – and wow… I am not at that point any more, and it’s really hit me hard. Rather than go with my gut instinct and just run away and give up… I am pressing on – I am not that far from that picture, I can get there again. And I will. It’s just going to be a lot of hard work and dedication.

I will be working in my sewing room until lunch time, then I have some errands to run this after noon… I am hoping to get the last of Allison’s gifts. ::yes::

Also, today is a big day for Josh… Can’t go into details here – but Pixie Dust for him today would be greatly appreciated. I’ll tell you all about it when I can. :lovestruc

I hope you all have an amazing day!!! :lovestruc

D~

I love the picture of V with the frost helmet.

It would be a shame to loose the Disney Annual Passholder magnet so I think it's wise to hang it somewhere safe.

I can't wait to see your Harry Potter bag.

You have done a great job with your eating and fitness program. Don't forget that
