How great that you now have all the Christmas presents for Allison.
It sounds like a good idea to go to the family Christmas party to meet your grandmother.

Low crowd at WDW sounds good. You're good at planning your park days :)

I haven't made my Chocolate chip cookies yet. I will tell you how they turn out when they are done :)

I'm glad you're finished shopping for Allison. I still have to get one more thing for my mom. It really hard to shop for her. She's 89 and really doesn't need anything.
I can understand not wanted to drive all that way but it would be nice to see your family.
I'm going over my daughter's later to help bake Christmas cookies. Her nieces and my niece, who's like my daughter, will be there. It should be fun.
Work has been crazy lately but it is Christmas. Our photo processers are overloaded and have been crashing. Part of the problem was that 2nd shift didn't know how to shut things down manually. The computer wouldn't go to postop. We showed 2 of them yesterday and hopefully it helps. We don't need more irate customers because things aren't working right.
I love Cracker Barrel but don't get there very often.
Hey for getting fp and getting more for your days planned for Allison's trip. I'm pretty sure it's dark at 7:30 the days are shorter in Florida this time of year.
Have a good day.
Liz

That is great you had a good time with your neighbors the other morning.
Enjoy your family Christmas party if you decide to go!

Also, that's great about 7DMT! I have never ridden it at night before but would love to one day. I feel like that FP has been getting a little easier to get over time.

About to catch up on this PTR! I've been training away, looking forward to my race in a few weeks... Yikes!

By the way, I switched over from CSR to AKL and somehow managed to get the same price!

You must be so excited for your trip, too! :yay:

Yes - it was really good to see my family and my Grandmother. :lovestruc I don't get to see them very often, and even though the drive is very long, I am glad we decided to go.

I don't feel very organized with my trip planning... but while I was in the car with Allison for 6 hours yesterday, we did do a lot of trip planning, and we have a couple of fun ideas planned. ::yes::

I am sure they will be delicious!

Yes - Josh finished her gifts up yesterday for sure - so no more stops for me. :thumbsup2

Yes - it was a long drive for a short visit, but I am glad we went, it was fun!

I hope you had fun Christmas cookie making with your daughter and nieces. :lovestruc

HOpefully things run smoother with your lab now. I agree - we have had problems during the holidays - serious problems for the last 3 years... Makes me happy that I am no longer in the lab at all any more. I miss the old lab anyways - that's when it was fun, now it's all automatic and nothing to it at all.

Yes - it feels good to finally be getting the finishing touches on our trip. It will be nice to have Christmas over (I hate saying that) - so we can leave on our trip.

I hope you had a nice weekend! :lovestruc

We did have so much fun together, we need to do it more often.

We did decide to go, and I am glad we did. It was nice to see family, even if we didn't get to visit for long.

Well, after riding it during the day on our Aug 2014 trip, and at night during our Nov 2015 trip, I will definitely say that riding it at night is waaaaay better. ::yes:: I am not sure I ever need to ride it during the day again? :scratchin

Sounds like the plans are coming along well! There is never enough time in Disney!!!

Yes - they are coming along... Would be nice if we could do 4 FPs though. And it's kind of annoying that they still have the tiering in DHS...

Best of luck to you in your race... I have not run in 2 weeks now... It's not very cold here, but cold enough that it's hard on my lungs... I am really trying hard not to be disappointed in myself for not running through the winter... but I do plan to pick it up in the spring again, and hopefully next year I will be much better prepared for winter running? I hope.

Oooh - congratulations!!! That's a no brainer to me! AKL was so amazing! I would love to stay there again some day!

Yes - we are starting to get very excited! :woohoo: It's getting close!

Well, I woke Allison up yesterday morning and asked her to go with me to the family party... She said she wanted to sleep. So, I got in the shower and by the time I'd gotten out - I'd decided not to go by myself, so I would just stay home. So, I threw on my comfy clothes and went downstairs... When I got down here, Allison was in the bathroom getting ready - she had changed her mind and decided to go with me. :lovestruc So, back upstairs I went to change clothes and get ready. The drive was LONG, but I was able to see my family... It was a pretty small turn out this year - comparatively speaking - but it was fun to chat with everyone. We only stayed a few hours, then it was back on the road home, so we were able to get home at a decent hour. Over all, it was a great day!

Today - I will work out right away this morning...

Then I will be working all day upstairs. I want to get my final custom order done today - with any luck. Then I will be off in my sewing room for 2 weeks. During that time - I won't really be "off"... I"ll be working on my HP bag, and hopefully some leggings for the trip, if my fabric arrives on time?

That's about all for today. I hope you all had a great weekend! Pixie Dust to all! :lovestruc

How great that you went to the family party and had a good time.

Mondays is my shopping day. So as usual I went to the shopping mall. It was chaos on the roads around the shopping malls and in the parking lots. After our trip to the USA this summer it has become a sport to see how long I have to stand in traffic jam on my way home from the mall. Just because we can't call what we have here in Tromsø a traffic jam compared to what you have in the USA. So every time I feel that this is going to take a long time I take the time just to see how long I have to wait in the traffic jam. Well today I was in a traffic jam for 7 minutes :rotfl:It's a new record. :rotfl:

Glad you had a good time with your family at the party!
I'm excited to see your HP bag when finished! If you don't mind me asking is it the first one you've done? Or have you had a custom order for a HP before?

Hahaha... I love that you now keep track... I think I could handle 7 minutes... :scratchin

I did - thanks! No, this will be my very first HP bag ever - and to be honest, I don't plan to put too much work into it, since I am only carrying it for one day, so I am honestly thinking of putting an embroidery machine applique on the front of it... That that this is any easier, really - but I found one that interests me, so I might just do it? We'll see... I want it (my bag) to match my "uniform"... I hope to get started on this soon, sometime yet this week.

********************************************************************************

I had a great day yesterday - I worked out right away in the morning, and then I went upstairs and worked all day.

After dinner - I went back up and worked on a side project for myself, which has nothing to do with Disney and well - yah - nothing to do with Disney. Are you shocked? :scratchin Oh and it isn't a bag either. I am not sure i will ever actually finish it, but... At least I started.

Today... I will work out this morning... Then I am headed out to grocery shop for Christmas meals... Normally, we do lasagna on Christmas Eve here, but since Josh just made it for our anniversary - I feel like we are lasagna'd out... So, I spent hours yesterday trying to find something else to make... Not sure that I am 100% satisfied with my decision, but I decided to do shrimp alfredo... And yes - I will be eating pasta on Christmas eve. :) I also plan to make a few appetizers to eat throughout the day. I also had to plan a meal to take to my dad's - and I think I've decided on crockpot mashed potatoes and meatloaf... I know - that's not traditional Christmas food - but I need something I can mostly prepare at home and just warm up when I get there. Unless you all have a better idea for me? :scratchin

I'll come home when I am done - unload groceries... Maybe go work on my side project for a little while - if I have time? Then I have an appt for V this afternoon - so I'll be picking her up from school and we will do a bit of last minute Christmas shopping.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

The only thing I've heard you say you want to make that has nothing to do with Disney are leggings and the HP bag. But since it's not a bag you're making I'm guessing you're making leggings.

What is most common to eat on Christmas Eve in the US? My family eat roast pork and pork ribs. In other parts of Norway people have cod, lamb ribs or cod that has been conserved in caustic soda (it's called Lutefisk)
And we open our Christmas presents in the evening on the 24th. I know you open your Christmas presents in the morning on the 25th.

What about totally different for Christmas and do crock pot Fajita's? (I truly have to be in the mood to eat meatloaf. :) )

Oh my gosh, change of plans again... DH's new job won't let him have the days off so I'll be staying with my mom at Yacht Club and I'll be switching our existing reservations to March! I was so upset yesterday - ugly cry and everything - but I think I'm OK now... lol Gotta keep things in perspective! I kind of feel like how you did not traveling with your girls - Disney is our special place so not having DH at my race makes me sad.

On another note, I love your tree! Nice job!

Yummy, shrimp alfredo sounds good! The holidays are fun to try something new! Do you make homemade appetizers - we always do a mix lol.

Nope... Not leggings... Hehehe - I will try to post pictures of what I am making today - I would have done it yesterday, but I couldn't get the lighting right in my sewing room, and my pictures were so dark. Too many cloudy days here now.

I have heard of lutefisk - I have never had it though - to my knowledge. Usually, we open all of our gifts to/from each other the night of the 24th - we always have appetizers during the day and then we have dinner together and open gifts after. The only gifts we open on the 25th are gifts from others and Santa - but Santa is not coming this year... So, we will just open gifts from others on Christmas morning. :)

Hahahaha... I am guessing you really don't like meatloaf? LOL That does sound good - but I've already purchased groceries for meatloaf - and it's one of our favorites. Maybe you haven't found a good recipe yet? We have ours - always - with baked potatoes and sour cream... There's something about that combo that goes well together... but I am also one of those people that enjoys most of my food mixed (some people don't like theirs touching at all - but I am not like that). My "staple" meatloaf recipe is in the Betty Crocker cookbook - I do very few edits to that one... In recent years, I've also taken out the breadcrumbs and I just use meat - it works just fine. Josh's meatloaf is different each time - and at the end he wraps it in bacon... Nothing can beat bacon wrapped meatloaf, IMO. ::yes:: If you ever make it to MN - let me know - we will have you over for some of Josh's meatloaf... Or when we go to TN - we'll have to try and do it there - it would be fun. :)

I have to show you this video where Americans tries Norwegian Christmas food

LOL... I understand some of their reactions. Thanks for sharing. :)

Oh no!!! That is such a bummer! I am glad you are OK now - but I totally understand. You will do great and you will have lots of fun. I know - the first time I went without DH, it was hard... but - it turned into the best thing ever, because I learned that I *could* travel alone, and I was hooked... So, you never know - this could be the start of a new adventure for you... Nothing wrong with a little more Disney in one's life. :lovestruc

I thought so too - but the family vetoed me... Even though we just had it, they all insisted on lasagna... :scratchin

Yes - I do almost all home made appetizers... I always try to do a few of the same things, and a few different ones too... This year I am doing my traditional cheese ball/crackers, and "crack bread" - you can pinterest the recipe... I am going to do my best to only *try* this - but it looked so good, I just have to make it. Then, I purchased a tin of cookies to set out - nothing exciting, but something on the side. For dinner - it will be lasagna... Shoot that reminds me - I forgot to buy bread for garlic bread... i better do that today. Christmas morning - I am trying a new recipe - it's called french toast bake... It looks delicious. Yup - my menu for Christmas Eve/Christmas day is almost all horrible, but it will be fun, I will enjoy it and move on. :lovestruc

I had a really nice day yesterday...

I worked out right away...

Then I headed out grocery shopping... I did get a few non-grocery items... Target has their portable MyCharge cell phone chargers (I use these a lot in WDW) for 30% off, plus I had a $5 off coupon that was in the paper a few weeks ago... I was able to get a new charger to add to my pile for $4.50 after all of my discounts. :woohoo: I was pretty happy with that price. It's a small charger, but better than nothing. ::yes:: I also found Allison a set of luggage on clearance for $41... It's a cheapo set, and Josh hasn't looked at it yet, so we haven't decided if we are keeping it or not? But I was *thinking* I could monogram the front pocket for her - I looked at it when I got home, and the front pocket unzips all the way - so I could theoretically hoop it and put it in my embroidery machine - it would mean me holding it, so it stays in the right place and doesn't shift - but I think I could make it work. :scratchin The only thing, is we were planning to purchase a nice Vera Bradely luggage set for her, for her graduation... So, if we keep this, we'll not do that. We just need to decide how much $$ we want to invest in luggage for her.... $41... Or $hundreds?

Once I was done grocery shopping, I headed home... I had a few hours to kill before I had to pick V up from school... So, I worked on this... It's going to be a quilted wall hanging. I found the pattern online a few weeks ago - and i just loved it. I have this swirly Christmas tree as a small embroidery file, and it's one of my favorites... When I found this wall hanging - I just knew I wanted to make it for myself to hang behind my couch during the holidays... Eventually - I'd like to transform my house during the holidays - since I don't have anything better to do with my time. LOL Here's the link to the pattern I used... I definitely like the one on the pattern better - I think she used a much different applique technique than I did, and i like her's better, but I decided to stick with what I know. Anyways - I finished all of the applique yesterday, now I need to figure out how to quilt the darn thing... I quilt bags all the time - but this is soooo different. :scratchin

20151222_121144.jpg

Oh - the pattern: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/home-decor/swirled-christmas-tree-quilt-pattern/17664

Then I ran to get Victoria... We did a little bit of last minute shopping at Kohls and Ulta... Then we went out for dinner... It was good.

We didn't get home until late. Allison picked up a shift at work last night, so I didn't even see her all day... Except to watch her carry this out of the school to the bus... I was trying to flag her down to tell her to put it in the car, so she didn't have to try to maneuver it on the bus, but she didn't see me sitting there, and I didn't want to honk my horn and scare all the kids walking in front of my car... Anyways... Super proud of her - she has been working on this project for her Design & Housing class for a while now... Drawing the concept and executing... She pulled it off fabulously - so I need to share. :::yes:: So amazed at all the little details... Love the trees, and the windows - even the chimney made out of peanuts... Just super cute! As you can see - she took 1st place, but I am not sure in what? LOL If it was only her class or among all of the Design and Housing classes?

So super proud of this project, and her "eye" for detail.

Finally - one last photo... Allison and I with my Grandmother on Sunday, my aunt shared this picture with me - and i just love it, it's a great picture of the 3 of us... I would love to somehow edit my aunts out of the background - not that I don't love them or want them there, but it would just be a better picture that way. :thumbsup2 I may try to do that when I find I have oodles of time on my hands. ::yes::

cwvDm9asA3Lw9atnAbl5es27fw.jpeg

So, that's about all...

I work at Target today - all day... I will come home and then Allison will take my car right to work herself. So, once I get home, I plan to start making anything I can make ahead for tomorrow and Christmas Day, and cleaning up the house as I go along... Josh works all day tomorrow - so I will have all day tomorrow to work on this too. Sadly - I don't think I will get my new wall hanging done in time for Christmas, but we'll see. :scratchin

I do have a couple of small Disney updates - but I will save those for after the holiday. ::yes::

If I don't see you again before Christmas - I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday... Travel safe and enjoy your family and friends. Merry Christmas. :lovestruc :grouphug:

Victoria's log cabin house is adorable. She deserves first place for creativity. I've only seen gingerbread houses but hers looks like a real cabin. :)

Your wall hanging is very pretty. You'll have to post a picture of it hanging on the wall. I have made Christmas wall hangings, too, and they really make the room look Christmasy. One of them is hand quilted but I did the rest by machine, I used a free style machine quilting method to quilt those wall hangings. The trick is to move the huge amount of fabric around the needle. It is sometimes a challenge.

Your picture with Allison and your grandmother turned out great. You look very good in that picture. :)

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve already. :faint: I have so much left to do.

The wall hanging looks great.

Allison's log cabin house looks great.

The picture of Allison, your grandmother and you looks great. But I can understand why you want to edit your aunts out of the background, it would be a better picture that way :)

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you have a great Christmas.

OMG that cabin is just SO AWESOME! Great job by her!!!

Can't believe your next Disney trip is next month! Sounds like you have most of the plans all in place. Cool! :yay:

I have started booking our trip for NEXT Thanksgiving this week. Looking forward to it but will really miss the Osborne Lights. :( However seeing my two young nephews (2 and 4 for the trip) experience Disney for the first time will be so much fun!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday! :santa:

The cabin is very cute. I love it. It does throw me off somewhat to hear that there is still school. Chelsea officially started winter break on the 18th and returns on January 6th. Jacob and Marissa have been off since the 10th and start back on the 4th.

The luggage set I bought Marissa had a soft cover. It was very cute. She made it to Ireland and back to Portland with it looking great. From Portland to Eugene flight, the suitcase ended up being black and filthy (it was a houndstooth pattern). Then on her next trip (to WDW), it made it there, but on the way back, something ended up cutting it on the backside, diagonal, and the airline replaced it with a hard shell suitcase. So with just 2 trips, her set is mismatched. I wish I had gone with a more indestructible set. I went with fashionable and it just didn't seem to work out.

I love the picture with your grandmother and Allison.

I hope you have a great Christmas.

The wall hanging is looking amazing!

Beautiful family photo with your grandma

I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm just sad he won't be there to cheer me on. Speaking of running, how's the weather been there? It's been so muggy and rainy here! Ver had to resort to the treadmill which I'm not a huge fan of.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
