Allison- :hug::hug:

Glynis- thank goodness your Dad is doing okay!

So I am all mixed up! We had leftovers last night an di tossed the rest out. Sick of all that! I thought that tonight was the dinner meeting we were supposed to attend so I made arrangements for Marisa to watch the girls after we left.............the meeting is tomorrow
I have nothing out so we are taking the girls to Red Robin........ Yummmmmmm!

Hey, everyone! Tonight we are having leftover easy beef stroganoff and salad :-)

Well it's day 1 of my "not vacation". I don't want to do anything, I don't want to cook anything (well I am craving pork chops in cream of chicken soup over egg noodles) and I DON'T want to go to band tonight!

:hug::(

:cool1:

We had pizza last night. I had the Kirby guy demonstrating here and it took him a long time. TOnight we have to finish all that pizza I ordered but I will make a salad to go with it.

I thought I would stop in and share a recipe. It was really easy and very tasty

It is a chicken marinade I found on Pinterest.

1/4 c chopped cilantro
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tblsp fish sauce or soy sauce
1 tblsp sesame oil

Put in food processer and blend until smooth. Place 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts into a ziplock bag pour in marinade and let sit for at least 15 minutes. Grill and enjoy:thumbsup2

Good Morning! It is gloomy and overcast here today :( Last night Buddy had had enough of my makeshift meals. WE went to a local seafood place for dinner. I had fried scallops and baked potato. Buddy ordered pretty much the entire menu...........I must cook again I think!

I am going to my nephew's 4th birthday party today. I would not miss it even if I had magnificent plans. Nephew's wife only invites her family to anything and when they are eventually shamed into including us it is generally so last minute we cannot go. This year we have had the invite for weeks!

Buddy is in his glory perched on his plow :woohoo:

I ate it.

Hope you had a great time at the 4th birthday party.

Its been pretty cold and mizzly here as well this week. Looks like winter has decided to show up.

I took it easy today and despite still feeling a little dizzy, the cough was better today. We'll see how it goes when I get back into normal routine tomorrow.

WFDT? I'm still not fully back to feeling hungry. So I think it might be some steamed vegies for me. I have to find out what the boys want...could be pasta or toasted sandwiches.

Food inside Hong Kong Disneyland Park

We had one dinner and one lunch inside the park. As to be expected, the food at Hong Kong had a more Asian flavour.

For the dinner, we ate at the Comet Cafe in Tomorrowland.

The menu choices:

0401HKDLDay1587.jpg

And if you think that we all chose to eat rice or noodles, you'd be right! :rotfl:

The 3 Treasures rice dish.

0401HKDLnight002.jpg

The fish ball noodles.

0401HKDLnight003.jpg

The pepper pork chop.

0401HKDLnight006.jpg

Fujian Fried Rice.

0401HKDLnight004.jpg

The vegetarian meal.

0401HKDLnight008.jpg

From the BBQ counter...chicken and rice.

0401HKDLDay1590.jpg

And the BBQ pork.

0401HKDLDay1591.jpg

I didn't really enjoy these Asian dishes in the park. Not that they weren't nice but it was way too bland for my tastebuds. The BBQ meats and rice were the best of the lot and if I went again, I'd stick with those options in preference over the noodles.

For lunch the next day, DS wanted a Hot Dog. It seemed simpler for me to have one as well.

I had some time on the second day to go to the Bakery. I got there at 7 pm at night and it was practically empty. It had been a busy day at the park and these were the only items they had left:

4 of these donuts.

0402HKDLNight235.jpg

8 of these Tira Misu cups.

0402HKDLNight238.jpg

Yup. At 7 pm, the bakery was pretty much sold out. :(

I had thought that I was going to be picking up something at the bakery for dinner before the fireworks but it wasn't to be.

I had to wait until close on 10 pm before I got dinner that night. Ended up heading back to the resort and getting snacks to go. The place that I got the snacks from was the Grand Salon....the space where all the tables and chairs are.

0401HKDLDay1229.jpg

This was the Lemongrass Shrimp.

0402HKDLNight401.jpg

It came with a delicious cucumber and mango salsa.

0402HKDLNight403.jpg

I also got some springrolls...there were 5 in the serve.

0402HKDLNight402.jpg

It did come with a sweet and sour sauce; but I completely messed it up when I dunked that missing spring roll in it.

The snacks at the Grand Salon were FANTASTIC!

...what was for dinner last night? RESERVATIONS!!! We went out to dinner with friends of ours and tried a new [to us] Italian restaurant - one word: AWESOME! I had filet mignon wrapped in bacon (shocker, right? :rotfl2: ) with a gorgonzola sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans....OMG! :faint: ...and for dessert - creme brulee`....

PIO- I hope that you fully recover quickly! Now I have to say that I am going back and forth between your food porn and the lovely sights that house that food! Your photos are probably the closest I will ever got to DL Hong Kong ao I am enjoying them so much.

My niece Christine has traveled twice for extended trips to China and has just informed my sister that she plans on a long trip to Australia. If she had her way she would be a forever student and prior to the last visit to China she was planning on pathology as her end goal but now wants to research natural cures to disease. At least I think that is what she said, I honestly cannot understand most of what she is talking about :rotfl2: I think of you when I think of her travels now :thumbsup2

The party was nice. We did get some exciting news, my nephew and his wife are expecting again. My DSIL told me if they have a girl, which is what my nephew really wants, she is screwed. Right now she has two little grandsons and the clothing assortment is one little rack. The rest of the store is all girl princess: I told her that I totally understood!

Food was birthday food that the kids loved, pizza salad and cake. Blaise had some little friends over and they were so cute :goodvibes He opened his gifts and was so careful with his manners but finally he forgot himnself, picked up one box and said he hoped it was not clothes ;) IT is so fun to be an Aunt and get tickled by kids lack of manners!

We had roast beef sandwiches and pickles last night. I had mojito wine which was delicious! I need to make me some!

Allison- how are you doing and how is Fran?

Have a great day all!

Nancy - Glad you're still enjoying the TR. I've hit Hong Kong proper now...so there will be lots of non-Disney stuff to cover. And lots of DINNERS!

Your niece is travelling to Australia? If she is coming to Melbourne, I'm always up for a meet and greet.

And congrats on the new-to-be member of the family.

Ohhh. You're not reading the TR, are you? :scratchin
Hong Kong $22 will equate to about $2.50 - $3 in our money. The exchange rate is around HK$7.5 = $1.0 (US or AUD). That's about right for Disney pricing, isn't it???

[...and yup, that's about right...BTW ~ how's the Long Branch research been coming along? ;) ]
