....guilt. as. charged. :guilty:

[...and yup, that's about right...BTW ~ how's the Long Branch research been coming along? ;) ]

Back burner for now. I think DH is keen to stay in Manhattan. However....I'm hoping to rent a car and tour around. If Long Branch is better, we can factor it in. Otherwise...Manhattan???

PIO- Christine never told her Mom. I saw her plans on FB, thought it was a solid plan and joked with my sister about our traveler. My poor sister almost fainted :upsidedow My niece finds ways to research somewhere every summer and so I am looking forward to finding out how she manages this one :thumbsup2. I sure will tell her about you when she lets us know how she is going to manage this one

:rotfl2: She sounds like me.

No problems. The offer is open and there is no pressure either way.

....yup - Manhattan. You might want to think about staying overnight (but do it during the week) in Long Branch. They have a Summer Concert Series (I think on Wednesdays) that would be cool to go to and then you could head back to NYC the next day...

Yum! It all looks good! I really need to get back to menu planning! Maybe with the kids out of school, it will be easier. You think?

Dinner for us will be beef stew and biscuits. Comfort food.

Beef Stew and Biscuits sounds like my kind of comfort food....Yummy

I haven't been around much. Canceling the trip worked out to be a bigger mess than I thought, being depressed, and the nurse visits are taking much longer. We were going to go out for my birthday a day late, but the read her the riot act and she has been sitting at home reading with her leg up ever since. Tonight we're having a recipe from the Lady and Sons cookbook called Farmer's Porkchops. It's pretty much pork chops cooled over some scalloped potatoes. Sounds good!

Hope everyone else us doing well. Congrats on the new family member to be Nancy!

Hi Everyone - I am Back!!!

We had a wonderful time!!! Just what we both needed. We ate when we wanted and slept late and played late - pure bliss!!

I am swamped at work - I swear they used a whole pad of sticky notes - You should have seen my desk when I got here this morning. :rotfl: You couldn't even see the screen to my computer.

I need to catch up with all of you - AND I WILL, just not right now. I will be back later.

WFDT ~ Tiliapia, steamed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts.

Make it this a great day everyone.

Hi, everyone! Crazy, busy here! I've already been to the kids school to request teachers for the twins next year, run to the library, and then the grocery store. Now, I'm home, everything is put away, and I'm on the DIS for a minute before Alan gets home. Since his school ended last week, his work schedule is leaving a ton of time at home. On M/W/F he'll be home by 12:30, and on T/TH he'll be home by 7:00 p.m. I foresee lots of "honey do" projects around the house and yard this spring!!! Today, we are tackling the forest that is our front yard. We have aspen trees that line the front of our house, and they send up suckers like you can't believe. We are taking them all out and pouring Round Up on the roots, to hopefully kill them. We've got to get our garden plot all ready for tilling, and tackle the mess that is our raspberry bushes. Wish us luck! We're bribing the kids with a trip to the local Sno-cone shack as a reward for hard work!

Dinner tonight will be bubble up enchiladas. Hope they're good. I've never tried them before, but they sounded really good! Low fat, too. That's a plus. I'll report back on taste tomorrow!

Ellen - Welcome back!!!

Jen - Your menu sounds way better than mine for this week. Can't wait to see all the recipes on your blog!

Allison - So sorry you had to cancel the trip. Wish I could do more to cheer you up.

Gonna be a busy week here. Went out yesterday and got the new Weight Watchers Cookbook and am planning on using it lots.

Although dinner tonight will just be salmon, orzo and leftover roasted veggies.

Could be a meatless Monday dish! Share the recipe?

Brandi and Jen, you have some good menus planned. I need to get my act together and plan out the rest of the week. I feel pretty good that I know what we're having and it's not even noon yet! :lmao:

Glynis - I get exhausted just reading about your days. I'm not sure how you do so much!

Ellen - I'm glad you had a great time. I can't wait to ever finally go on a vacation and enjoy it.

Marilyn - good luck with the weight watchers.

Kim - if you're out there, how are you having your bacon today?

Tonight we're having some sort of mexican lasagne type thing that my cleaning lady shared with me. I'm using some leftover chicken from take out, tortillas, chillies, onions, cheese, cream of chicken soup and you just sort of layer it in a baking dish and cook for about half an hour. Sounds pretty good... :confused3
