The Walt Disney World Annual Passes Open for Sale

called the passholder line this morning to upgrade park hoppers to an AP with a 15 minute wait. cast member took my info to transfer me and told me it would be a 100 minute wait so i took the option for them to call me back. called me back around an hour and a half later and got a cast member who applied the price of my park hoppers and upgraded my tickets. took maybe 20 minutes all together. my regular park hoppers reservations were still showing up but i canceled everything and just rebooked. pretty painless process!

Glad it went smoothly, but we're really conditioned to anything ticket related taking hours, aren't we (myself included)? If I had to call American Airlines for a ticket change and it took a transfer, a call back and a rebooking...I'd be pretty unhappy to be honest. That takes me 5-10 minutes with AA.

FWIW, I was told NOT to cancel my park pass reservations. As I was only updating my ticket to an AP and my park pass reservations were for me & 5 others, I was told that they would not automatically cancel on their own since they are not linked directly to my ticket. So, seeing how that plays out. So far, so good.

It will work. You only need to meet 1 of the 3 buckets/criteria to reserve park reservations. Once secured, you can modify or upgrade tickets without canceling.

Lot of horror stories on reservation dropped... will try to upgrade at the end of my trip to avoid any risk :-)
The only tip I have for those who are waiting to upgrade on their last day is: if you have so many park days bought and no park hopper, if you buy your pass now you get more days in park and park hopping. I only had 3 days with park hopper and with buying the AP now I got 6 days in the park for this current trip.

I answered call back, pressed 1, been on hold for 20 minutes. No music or anything. Is this right?
It was right. I purchased a new pass. CM tried to verify in my account and it shows as expired. I've been on hold for 20 minutes waiting for whatever dept. I've been transferred to.
Should have booked the flight:rotfl2:

Now I understand why universal keeps tweeting “we love our annual pass holders”. I made the mistake of buying the Incredipass yesterday. No reservations available for passholders at any park on 10/1 or 10/2. I should have just purchased day passes. Back to being a universal loyalist. The magic is gone with this money hungry corporation.

Did you not look at the Availability calendar before purchasing?

Update from last night- from the time I received the call back, it took 4 hours and 50 minutes to get through the transfer and get the issue resolved. It was determined that because it was a ticket purchased in 2/20 for use in 4/20 and adjusted with the 9/21 expiration due to Covid, the system kept trying to back date it, causing it to be issued with an expiration date that already passed. Not sure if that info would be useful to anyone else

The person selling me the ticket said magic kingdom is booked but the other parks “should be fine” I should have known not to trust him when he had to ask multiple people for help throughout the transaction. I’m a bit peeved. Do you think reservations will open for other parks for AP holders as it gets closer? I was hoping to do Epcot or AK ugh so frustrating. This is the only reason why I bought an incredipass I wonder if I should book a night in a Disney hotel just to get a reservation, would that help?

I would suggest checking availability for park passes for Disney resort guests and then if there is availability for resort guests on those dates, it should help.

When I checked yesterday there was limited availability still at one or two park on October 1st for APs with onsite resort reservations.

Also if you're looking for a park reservation on a sold out day, try to book it even if the availability calendar says it's full. People's plans change all the time. There's a bit of lag between a cancellation and the calendar updating. I've gotten a reservations for parks that were supposed to be filled up.

There hasn't been availability for day passes on 10/1 for a couple months now, has nothing to do with the pass. Did you honestly think you were going to be able to get an annual pass and just walk into the park on the day of the 50th anniversary just 3 weeks away? Even if they didn't have the reservation system you probably would have been turned away at the gate if you weren't in line right at rope drop.

No I didn’t think that at all. The cast member lied and told me there was availability at other parks than MK. Turns out he was checking the wrong inventory, so to answer your …. question, no that’s not what I thought.

Had I known a 1400 annual pass wouldn’t get me a reservation to one of the other parks, I would have purchased a separate ticket as I planned, since there is availability in that pool. This is my first and last experience with a Disney annual pass. I will continue to buy day tickets when needed and just stick with the annual pass from universal.

I’ve been refreshing and trying. I’m sure if there are spots as time gets closer and people haven’t purchased day tickets, they will open some more reservations. I should have just purchased the day ticket instead.

I’d try for a refund. You haven’t used it and the CM lied to you about the availability. Worst they say is no.
