Hey, Jordan, stopping by to catch up and all. I'll catch you later (my AM); meantime, floss eloquent.

Hard to root against Canada....I love hockey so much. I was really happy for them.

I so don't get the sour grapes/sore loser thing. :confused3

I saw it as kind of having the best of both worlds. It was a great game. Both teams played well. The US lost, but Sid scored the winning goal. I'm cool with that.

Congrats to Canada!

 More important than the big game! Clearly no Canadian blood runs in your veins. ;)

I know it is disappointing to lose, it is just the attitude that some friends have been displaying, it has been a bit distasteful. No need to be a sore loser, I certainly didn't act that way towards them when the US beat Canada last Sunday.

Lol. Sadly no TRUE Canadian blood runs through my veins.

Chapter 4. A little 2012 poll.

I can't believe I am NOT going to WDW for 2 years or over 2 years!!!!:sad2:

That said, I think PeepFest 2012 will be a blast and fun for all. Wendy and I were discussing the trip already this morning. I was just doing some price checking for cruises. It's not so bad for someone going solo, but for someone with a family, the prices are pretty expensive IF you factor in a WDW trip as well. So we did a little discussing about possible combinations.

I'd like to get a little poll going about different combinations or what really people would be most interested in. Time of year is pretty set for mid to late June as West Coast schools don't get out until mid-June. So get ready for the Hot, Sweaty Asian to return.:scared1::scared1:;)

What is PeepFest 2012? Well if you haven't heard already, I will be turning 50 in 2012. Yes, 50. I certainly don't feel my age, but I do remember the 1960s so it's hard to deny my physical age. I want to do a blowout celebration and invite as many interested friends along for the ride. Many of my church friends will also be celebrating their 50th birthdays that year so many are already on board for PeepFest, although they have no idea that's it called PeepFest.:rolleyes1

Where will PeepFest take place? At WDW silly-my favorite vacation destination. However, there's also a strong possibility of doing a week on land and then a week on theDisney Cruiseline!!!!! That would be my ultimate vacation. For the WDW portion, I do plan on splurging and getting a one bedroom at either BWV or BCV. That way we'll have a base of operation and somewhere to meet up and hangout.

Questions to all you in DIS land:

Would you do both land/sea?

Prefer land?

Prefer sea?

Can't do June?

Would do land/sea if sea was only 3-4 days?

If there are only a handful of cruise "yes" folks out there, I MAY abandon the cruise or do a 3-4 day instead. As it stands today, here's my itinerary (come on, you thought I didn't have one started already????!!!!!!)

VERY TENTATIVE PLANS:

Option 1:

WDW: June 15th-June 23rdish
DCL: June 23rdish-July 1stish
WDW: July 1st-5th.

Option 2:

WDW: June 15th-Jun 24th
DCL: June 24th-June 28th
WDW: June 28th-July 3rd.

Option 3
WDW: June 15th-July 1st
8 nights at BCV or BWV
8 nights at Pop

Okay let me hear from you guys. I'll get to previous posts later and I WILL do an TR update today at some point.

There aren't any food vending machines, except on the first floor. I was able to get some Gardetto's. Here's my first food porn pic of the trip.
021.jpg

I had to come out of lurkdom to share what my husband thought of your Gardetto's pic. We were at Panera having lunch yesterday and I was reading this update, laughing (as usual), so DH asked what I was laughing about. I showed him the update and he perked up at the words "food porn" but was very disappointed by what he calls the "soft food porn." He thinks it doesn't qualify as true food porn because "all the good stuff is covered." :lmao:

Can't wait for the next update!

Don't use me as the go-to model as our plans are far from set in stone. IF (and this point it is a BIG IF) we make it in 2012, we'll def be coming near the end of June and staying 8-10 days. (Probably at the Pop.) We won't do DCL, but would plan our stay to match the "Land" portion of your shindig. (More specifics will posted on my TR tomorrow.)

I sincerely hope you can make it...:thumbsup2

Right now, we're a big if, too, but we'd probably do the DCL portion and not WDW. So, I guess, I'd pick the middle portion of Option 1.

Confusing enough???

Hmmmm.... I'd do a cruise if my DH would do it with me. I'd have to think on this, but would tentatively say option 2. That would give folks 2 options for WDW if they couldn't/didn't want the DCL.

While I would really love to do a land/sea trip I doubt my brothers would go along with that. That being said our plans are so up in the air due to school/work etc that you should not let our plans factor into the decision.

Haven't planned that far out yet (I know -- shame, shame) but we would probably not do the cruise portion. Plus, with the snow issues we've had this year, the later in June you can hold the "land" portion, the better. Option 3 gives lots of time that you could catch people who's timetables don't line up exactly...but obviously nixes a cruise for those who would like to do that.

I am all caught up with your chapters. Thanks for posting the links on the first page. I can't wait to hear more about your trip. I REALLY wish I could have gone. My computer was broken so I have lots of disboards reports to catch up on. I am so glad you got to eat some Gardetos because I was feeling sorry for you going to bed hungry.

I know we would LOVE to do the cruise part, but have no idea if it would be financially plausible. I am pretty sure that land is an easy yes, and the cruise is tentative for me and the hubby! Chances are it'll be our next WDW too!

OH and June 23rd is my birthday- so you KNOW we;d have to do something crazy!

The Canada hockey win was crazy. I'm kinda annoyed that Crosby made the scoring goal. Just boosts his ego that much more  The celebration here in Toronto was nuts. They had to close down parts of Yonge street! I didn't hear about any "sore loser" comments?

I would love to get in on PeepFest, if I can? I know I'm kinda new around here but I have bounced in and out of your TR's before (they're hilarious btw) You're turning 50?!?! I wouldn't have guessed a day over 35. I'll definitely need a Disney fix in 2012, unless I end up working there (something I've been considering recently) But if I end up staying where I am right now, I could do either Option 2 or 3. Might not be able to do both the cruise and WDW but if I'm going to do Disney, I think WDW would be my choice. I'd be bringing my mom and sister along for the ride :goodvibes

I have been thinking about a land/sea vacay...my excuse to spend that much is Evan will graduate the first week of June, so it's a last family vacation with all my kids.

I think we'd need to do the 3 or 4 day cruise, budget wise. Regardless, I will be at peepfest with or without the family.;)

I was just making reference to some of my friends who are American and were really obnoxious last night about losing. I don't think it is a general sentiment just annoying in my particular case. ;)

Financially, would most likely just do the land portion of your Peepfest. Unless of course I could get my mom to agree to come down for the second week and spend the week with our son on land while DH and I go to sea. (Mom says she'll NEVER do a cruise.)

So, no matter what you decide, IF my family can make it down in any form (all of us or just part of us), we'd only be there for the land portion.

Ditto this. I'm playing with the idea of just mom, myself, and the kiddo hitting up the World during the summer without my dad and my hubby. She and I have been wanting to do a mother/daught/son-grandson trip. So, if we could swing it financially, we'd be down there for 8-10 days at Pop. :D

It's nearly impossible for Terry to get summer off... :headache:

Hmmm... Maybe Peepfest can be my first solo adventure... :scratchin

Go LONGHORNS!!!!!! Oops wrong school.

Go Mustangs!!!! Oops..

Go Frogs......

Go Aggies???????

Congrats!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

The correct response is, "Gig 'em Aggies!"

I even wrote in Aggie Red incase you didn't notice. :thumbsup2

We love our Texas schools, either school will be a fine school! Living in Austin of course we love our Long Horns, but I'm not so silly that I can't love our Aggies too! I have friends who's kids I adore going to A&M and I can't say I would pick one over the other.

Camille! Congrats again...but it is MAROON not red! You know College Station would be cool in some ways for him...only an hour or hour and a half away...close enough to come home whenever he wants but far enough to have the full "going away to college" thing. But just for you I hope he gets into UT (t.u.) also!

2) You're supposed to tip the ME bus driver? Is it because they help with luggage? I'm so not good with this stuff and I will be using ME for the very first time in January. I'll need to take notes.

I did not have bags, didn't tip the driver on the way there because I didn't like him (reasons to come if I ever start my TR) but did tip the guy on the way back. I didn't notice anyone else tipping him with or without bags. So it's certainly not required, but nice if they do a good job.

Lol. I had different reasons for it being semi not ok to lose to Canada. I have a half dozen Canadian friends. And we've all been taunting each other over the hockey games. Good times!

In the final analysis I decided I am happy with Canada winning the gold medal. Of course that is only the second hockey game I've ever watched so my opinion doesn't count for much.

We had it all planned to watch the whole game and then meet friends for a movie and dinner but then it went into overtime so we had to miss the end!

I don't understand how anyone can be a sore loser. I mean, maybe if you're on the team but I didn't have anything to do with the win or loss so why be a bad sport? :confused3
