Hi y'all! Y'all have been quite gabby again! I can't catch up! Still having lots of leg and back and feet pain. Can't get a lot done without hurting! Waiting for my MRI results. I found out I had to call MYSELF to the neurosurgeon to find out the results late this afternoon and I have been waiting for the phone call from him. That is so weird! Maybe I will get an answer tomorrow!

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes! I am happy to report that 30 feels no different from 29...especially since I keep thinking I'm still 19 and wondering where this house and these kids came from!! And why are they calling me "Mommy"?

OK, I am in the process of trying to figure out where the hole is in the network. My Firewall guru has been scanning my servers…lets hope he can figure it out without too many $$$.

Also, I did a stupid thing. I admit it, I fell for a sales pitch…
I have a very expensive internet connection ($150/month) It is the most I can get on a DSL line with a Residential phone number. I thought it was a commercial account but found out that their tariff will not allow it. I had a good deal with AT&T for Long Distance, and my 800# cost from $.10-$.07 a minute. My local phone company told me with the new porting, since I have my own 800# (w/o a pin) that they will give me $.07 a minute day and night, unlimited LD in the US, huge discounts internationally, all for what I was currently paying. I checked it out, the deal seemed legit, I was going to call ATT for a ccounter, but kept getting shunted to a call center in India… got frustrated, and in a fit of frustration told the nice friendly guy from Houston to go for it. He also suggested signing a 1yr contract (my old one expired a year and a half ago) and they would lower my dsl to $99.00 (33%). So far all is good…enter “Call-notes” we have an answering machine. I do not like them deciding how long we keep our messages. On the old plan I had it set so the call notes only picked up when the line was busy. With the new plan that is not an option. I have it set to give me 5 rings, my machine picks up on 4, it isn’t quite long enough, but it will have to do. I have spent several hours on the phone trying to get an exception…to no avail. The nett savings will be about $50 a month (from the internet contract), and maybe $5 more from the ld/service plan changes. I will get just one bill, and hopefully I will save the cost I was paying to ATT as well. Oh, and now we have unlimited long distance. I hope I on’t loose my 800#, it was a good one…..we shall soon see…

One more thing, I saw some of nightline last night…to think I started that thread a few months ago on the dark side on whether gay couples should be allowed to get married. Do you think I started this brewhaha???

We just did our 4th Disney Magic Cruise in January and after watching "According to Jim" last night, I wanted to go back soooooo badly!! I miss the wonderful food.....my wonderful waiters......tasty room service and my terrific cabin boy......I just don't think I can wait til next January to cruise again.......somebody, please, send me on a cruise now before I completely fall apart.......Calgon, just isn't "Taking Me Away" like it used to!!!!!

Well, long story short(er)...

We did settle on an apartment...sort of. We looked at about 20 complexes and narrowed it down to 2. But we had a really hard time deciding between them because they seemed to be completely different. See, we both have this dual personality thing going on. We like the idea of living in a stylish apartment complex in a "hip" area. On the other hand, we both loved the house we moved from last year, which was actually a very rustic (and not completed) log cabin home with an incredible mountain-side view. Well, we decided on the "hipper" of the two, but only after a lot of discussion and the realization that it really did have a lot more pros than the other one (and also that it wasn't like we were buying a house--we could move again if we wanted to).

Of course, we then had to decide between two completely different floorplans. This decision was of course affected by size, layout, practicality and location within the complex (1st vs. 2nd floor, facing parking lot, road, etc.). But, we finally signed the papers on a one BR so that stress is over...sort of.

Before our trip I had a phone interview with a company for a job I really wanted. The phone interview went well so I told them that I would be in town that next weekend if they felt I might be an interview candidate. Well, they never called so I figured they had moved on.

But, the day after I got back from our trip, they did call me and wanted me to interview that Friday in Orlando! So, they flew me down Thursday night and I interviewed Friday with two people. Personally, I didn't leave there thinking I had hit a home run or anything, but they must have thought I was OK because the next day I had an e-mail from their recruiter saying that I had made it to the next phase of the process, which was an interview with the VP of HR. This interview will take place tomorrow in Atlanta (about 2 hours from here) and I am pretty excited, nervous, anxious (nauseous)... But of course I'll be trying to play it

If I do get this job, we may consider upgrading to the 2 BR!

Seriously, I hope you fee better...Simplified explanation...I got tired of calling a call center in India, changed my long distance to my local carrier (SBC, Southwestern Bell, Ma Bell). I signed a contract for my DSL for a year and am saving $50/month. I am also getting unlimitted Long Distance for about $10. less a month than I am currently paying. I have to deal with their answering serving instaed of my machine. RRBB is a little concerned about their voice-mail system.
